Why is GTA San Andreas better than GTA V? (Part 2)

100% agreed SA had gang wars taking enemy territories expanding your own GSF gang, it had 3 cities + desert + countryside (loved parachuting from mount chiliad and the chiliad challenges), buying properties all over SA, taking over Madd Dogg's mansion from the Vagos, 6 different cloth shops with wider variety of clothing than 4 and 5 (in SA Victim was my most fav especially the cool Biker Jacket) , in SA dating Barbara a cop you get the cool cop outfit and never lose weapons when arrested again, arcade games like go go space monkey (i got top score 20,000 there are three others) and playing pool in the bar, killing the opponent you get the pool stick you can use as a weapon, building muscles and stamina and learning 3 different fighting styles in gyms (LS = boxing, LV = mma, SF = Kung Fu), barber shops, tattoos, driving trains and tanks and the story is amazing CJ grows from a gangster to a rich and powerful business man who sets up his own casino with Woozie and pulls out a heist on rival casino and out smarts the biggest mob boss in 3D era Salvatore Leon, Big Smoke's betrayal was shocking breaking into his crack den and fighting his army and killing him for revenge and then the big Chase after Tenpenny what a story, in Green Saber when Sweet told CJ to save himself CJ said "I ain't running out on my brothers, yo Ballas I am taking you down, I am taking you all down" what a great committed character, characters like Niko are ready made you hear about their off screen war and only play a part of their life but with CJ you raise him like a son, also so many other features like races (cars, bikes, planes and boats) and so many side stuff my most fav being Burglary mission you can even rob gang houses and rival gang attacks you and also completing $10,000 (you can take breaks, total is cound) gives you infinite stamina and SA retained Manhunt's cool knife stealth mechanism and introduced the revolutionary swimming mechanism used till date in modern Rockstar games like RDR 2. You could gamble at your casino so many like Black Jack. The characters felt more alive than 3 you notice their sound when you use flame thrower on the. I miss jet packing through the whole map and dodging missiles in restricted area. Iconic characters like The Truth and the list of features of this game goes on and on and so much more I didn;t cover. For a 2004 game it was a master piece, i played it between 2006-2015 and till date GTA and have played 4 and 5 in between but till date GTA San Andreas is the best game I ever played!

GTA San Andreas is one of the prime example when you properly manage your project with good planning and execution, something that modern devs often lack about. Of course there will be still bugs, but the sheer amount of things to do, overcome the flaws of the game.

I feel like most of these things were also meant to be in GTA 5 but were cut for some reason. I know for a fact that buying houses was a planned feature but it was cut. Maybe it had something to do with the online mode? They were also working on single player dlcs but we never got them. I wonder how many things were planned to be in the game that never made it.

7:56 although it is very unrealistic train never stops in anyway.But telling that the train doesn't stop after killing the driver is very unrealistic because the driver doesn't use a gas pedal to operate train,they use a lever which when pulled stays there so when the driver dies the lever won't go back

GTA V ain't bad but i still feel more joy while playing GTA SA. I grew up with it and it's still fun playing it. I pretty much do it regulary, always coming back to it after some time. I can't say the same about GTA V tho, i got kinda bored of it right now. Still a good game, but something different, can't really compare them in my eyes. I would also say GTA SA is better if i had to choose.

I feel like it's been debated enough that GTA SA is better than GTA 5,and GTA 4 is better than GTA 5, how about a 3 way comparison of all three of em?

It's not better or worse It's just features that make each one of them special.

just finished GTA SA for the second time after playing it first in my childhood days… i thought i used to find the game great because of nostalgia but i was proven wrong. more than anything, the characters were easily the best in any GTA game and all the side activities were a cherry on top. the story progression and character building is insane, i don’t think rockstar will ever be able to replicate gta sa’s magic ever again. gta 4 and 5 are great games too but i don’t think they match SA. online saved 5 otherwise it would’ve died really quick

Seeing all these details in this game makes me amazed by its strength, advantages and details that have something unbelievable that it is from 2004 but it is still better

I was impressed how the game improves graphically and gameplay variety. GTA SA and GTA V always be my favorite GTA game. The story and gameplay are 10/10.

Mostly I miss hydraulics, gang wars, recruiting homeboys, losing/gaining weight / muscle and communication with other npc’s . Bizarre they didn’t put these features in

I couldn’t even get into GTA V just cuz of how much better San Andreas was. San Andreas had girlfriends you could date, driving/flying school, vigilante missions, firefighter missions, paramedic missions, valet missions, taxi missions, pimp missions, Could drive the train, Could workout and improve stats, Could dress as a cop and use a cop car to gain entry to the police station parking garages, Could tag grafitti spots, could start gang wars, Could have sex (hot coffee scene), Could rob houses and do burglary missions, Could do lowrider missions, Could do street races in story mode, Could eat at restaurants and fast food places, Could use jetpack in story mode, Radio was also way better etc SA will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll never forget flying around area 69 to get my pilot license while listening to Free Bird 🛩️ It was simply a way better game.

I was about to say that the vast majority of these things can, definitely, be done in GTA V. But then I noticed you were only comparing Sanandreas to the story on GTA V and not including GTA Online.

In the part of customization section in GTA V there are things that gets proceed with the updates: Lowriders update allows you to put hydraulics and apply stereo subwoofers to the car and resemble an actual lowrider. Later cars from San Andreas Super Sport Series and onwards allows you to have a huge deep customization with liveries that resembles real life motorsport liveries and references to movies and TV shows Los Santos Tuners has cars that are hugely customizable complete with interior customization such as racing seats, racing doors and racing interior something that also applied before in January 2016 update and Import/Export meaning that you can make your cars look like racing cars from touring disciplines like rally, DTM, Super GT (formerly known as JGTC) and FIA WEC cars. One car, Maxwell Asbo you can make the car look like a rice burner complete with subwoofers. Of course literally most of JDM cars can do this. The Cheburek which is based in Lada VAZ 2109 can apply cardboard parts making it a cardboard rice burner.

With improved technology over the years many game developers over the years have fallen into the trap of becoming more focused on style over substance. Style isn't bad but it definitely seems as though the more game developers can do with visual effects the less creative they become with immersive details, video games are not like movies where everything must be presented to you directly in a streamlined fashion. What makes San Andreas special is how many hidden mechanics exist for the player to notice or find, create a world packed with content to explore and trust that players will want the satisfaction of finding it for themselves. I feel GTA VI has a good chance because RDR2 was a strong step in the right direction, if they expand more on that level of creativity and bring that back to GTA then GTA VI will be the best, and not just for a mainstream audience.

I still playing grand sa but the definitive edition in mobile with classic lighting and wow i feel that nostalgic and unique atmosphere from ps2 era. Everytime i play this masterpiece i tear up with full of happiness and with a tremendous excitement like before. Thank god i experienced this GOATED R* game.

Legends know customization, Night Racing themed liveries and tuning had craze and it was peak in 90's which is the timeline GTA San Andreas story was set on and GTA V timeline is different so there are no such options that is detailing. but yes, it would be great if they've added taking fictional liberty

IDK if it's only a GTA Online thing or not, but the train actually stops at a point near the windmills. Hopefully GTA 6 will build more from the GTA Online stuff, because in this debate some stuff is present there, and it's pretty neat (car customization is way better in GTAO than simple GTA 5, Liveries exist too, lowriders are a thing, etc.)

In the first one, there are liveries in GTA V, which you can also change the colour of after applying, and for hydraulics, just take your lowrider to Benny's.

That why graphic is not really important at games, but gameplay.

San Andreas is still best and I love playing still now only due to the main reason which is gang wars and yeah there is a way in which we can literally expand territories all over map.

I used to like stealing the AT 400 from Las Venturas airport, then buzzing area 51. You could easily outfly the heat seeking missiles with that 'plane.

What sucks is that most of these features that exist in GTA:SA are also present in GTA V, but they are all in Online.

I remember being able to customize the taxi cars and change the colours as well. gta5 however, did have some gang stuff but for online only, at it was scrapped and forgotten. Only recently people found out about that. I believe that some properties were meant to be bought by different characters as we can call them but they must of decided not to and just left the ability to call the numbers as some little activity to do and hear the different interactions.

Gta sa and gta vc is the best game in the seires ... if you want silence drive go to country side roads .. if you want to race then go to los angles bridge ... if you want to go off road go to mountchilad if you want some horror chills go into the woods or in ghost towns and if you want to do some beachy things then go to sand side city i forgot the name 😢 .... but main thing is that different places different weather and traffic conditions with different people .. and you can see people doing farming stealing cars drive by attempt gang war even if you didn't initiated ... radio is super cool .. just play definative edition for bit realistic graphics otherwise original is og ... we got plane car bike schools ... we can be police , paramedic , taxi , pizza guy , valet ... gta san Andreas is just way more better for chilling missions was also cool and we can actually have gurl friends not one we can have many 😂 and if you listen peds talking carefully you will enjoy it allot ... that vinewoods house was a big daam house ... that game still throws me back into 2008 ... but nowdays mouse issues allot to play that game

GTA V was intended as a money grab. Many things that you were "free" to do in GTA San Andreas are available in GTA V but not in the base game. You have to go Online and grind away to get new safehouses and additional content and missions (most of them you must do with other real people), or spend real money on Shark cards, and that can add up pretty quickly every time they release new content for GTA Online. You can also pay up every month for a GTA+ subscription which also has its own exclusive content, and even things that were previously available without a subscription, like many vehicles that were recently taken out from the stores in the game. At this point any reasonable person should expect that GTA VI, if it ever gets released, will be even worse. You'd need to pay up for a lot of things to enjoy the game, or be left out. Unfortunately nobody will ever give a damn since nobody did when EA began the whole paid DLC and microtransaction schemes and the industry followed suit, and every game looking forward will be extortion disguised as subscriptions. That's why many games today are also dependent of online services, so in the future you can never go back to them to enjoy yourself if you don't wanna pay for their new crap, and even the ESA actively works in preventing archivists from preserving old games.

A little off the side on this take, but I have been shoved so much gta 5 down my throat for the past 10 years, i cant even play it, its just a chore, and its the same case with online players too, they complain about the updates, grind 2 days for some stupid car and then complain about how stupid the car is, i have never seen a game that needs to die more than this one

I AM KID AND THE GRAPHICS OF GTA SAN ANDREAS ARE GOOD TO ME.

The car customisation stuff was improved greatly in online with certain cars allowing livery and hydraulics.

Still the best game I've played san Andreas. Gta 5 is good yeah but for it's time San Andreas was ahead all them open world games. The game came out when I was like 12, 13 and still regard it as the best. Them new release ones was good but loads stuff was missing.

For me gta sa has super realistic graphics in my opinion
