In 2002, GTA Vice City was released and set 16 years in the past. In 2008, GTA 4 was released and set in then present-day Liberty City In 2024, GTA 4 will officially be set 16 years in the past.

@@MrWolf-xk8sl It won't happen in the GTA series. R* said that they consider satirizing America and American culture to be part of the GTA series' identity. They did say they'd consider setting another IP outside the US. Personally, I'd love it if they made an open world crime game set in 1960s London. Actual London preferably, not a fictional version. Recreated as historically accurate as possible, similar to LA Noire (that was set in real Los Angeles in 1947) I'd much rather that than RDR3.

You definitely missed out on MTAVC and VC-MP. The devs had the foresight to disable the tanks, Hunter, RPG, so you couldn’t get griefed as easily. Rockstar should’ve taken a page out of them when Rockstar was developing GTA Online for V.

Online isnt bad, its only when the online is shit, and I have to say GTA 4 and RDR1 have somewhat boring onlines, and GTA V is full of content but so horribly done (PVP is ez but its so pointless and annoying), and RDR2 is neglected

@@DCol their onlines would he barren if they fixed the griefer issue, RDR2 actually became barren becuz they fixed griefing, I do hate how they prioritize GTA V, there is enough content, and griefers just want to PVP and there is alot of PVP stuff, its time RDR2 gets updated alot like it shouldve, and GTA 6 come out next year or year after gets the real anti grief lobby. An idea I thought on how to make PVP actually fun in the game is a GTA gang territory, you and your friends rule the city (Vice City) and people who kill you take over the city, I wouldnt complain, but PVP has no mechanic yet in GTA V and its just annoying, I wanna expierience content

True but you got to undertand that back then people werent as sensetive about what they implemented in their games they rockstar always gotten heat for being a civilian, cop killier simulator, hot coffee and a bunch of other shit but yeah they severely lost their touch after gta v, yes it did good as fuck in sales and all that but the single player was boring as fuck the characters were all shit except trevor online turned shit so yeah off course they will never be able to top their past games, in sales maybe but story and character overall likeness i dont think so,'z

Imagine being a gamer in 2002, watching a trailer for the first GTA game after the dreary, grey, depressing graphics and vibes of GTA III- and the first thing you see is a palm tree, some sailboats, Ray Liotta in a Hawaiian shirt, etc. Probably just as jarring and as much hype back then as GTA VI is in 2024.

0:31 this roof appears in two missions in the game and there's a similar roof on top of the building next to this one, but you never see people walking over them and both of them are only accessible by helicopter outside of the missions (and the second one doesn't serve any purpose at all).

That was an epic trailer. Definitely sold me on that game back in '02 I played it on a 24" CRT tv/VHS tape deck combo, with just the tv speakers. I was just out of high school, so I was just building up my stuff. Now I've got stuff I only could have dreamed of back then., Vice City was one of my favorites, did the OG game have the best aiming component? Nope. But the location was absolutely everything.
