I used the older model and loved it, got the new one and it's not as easy to pull back, in fact it feels like it is dragging but I see others commenting on that so at least it isn't a faulty one. I wish I had the old one still it was smoother to operate, felt like it was sturdy and better quality plastic. Thank you for your excellent video, despite a bit of disappointment at the new version you and your commenters have put my mind at ease.

Thanks so much for mentioning the draw back suction on reversing. My old G-tech K9 died 2 days ago and I’d never noticed it being that strong. I thought there was something wrong with the new one, when I’d assembled it and tested it. You’re absolutely right over the main handle panel being difficult to click in place. I had to connect it to the base and put my weight on the handle for it to fasten securely. Nevertheless, I’ve always been a fan of my G-tech products and wouldn’t have considered buying anything but another K9 one. They’re expensive but worth every Penny in my opinion. Thanks again 👍🏻

I had exactly the same problem with the handle. The newer model - it takes a lot of pressure, and I was worried it would break.

We’ve had a problem with handle since we got it. It was hard to pull it back and it made such a noise as if it was breaking. It’s now broken because the base of the handle won’t move at all. We’ve also got the small hand vacuum. I like that but it’s hard pulling the container out to empty it and I can’t push it back into place.

There are lots of spare parts on the Gtech website. You can almost rebuild the whole thing. We ordered a new base unit when ours went wrong.

It's this good at picking up on hard floor and getting around the edges.

Hard floors are good, although it sounds a bit scraping when you pull it backwards, but it does not scrape the floor. Front on, it is good at getting to the edges, not so much on the sides. Although I'd love to find a cleaner that can get right up to the edge of a carpet and give the edges a good clean to get rid of grey fluff etc

Just bought the 2022 model ( bought the previous one about 5 years ago ) . I find this new model not as good as the previous model it seems to scrape the wooden floor with the rubber and it is definitely much harder to manoeuvre the hoover . Unfortunately it seems like I am stuck with it but I would certainly not recommend this 2022 model .

Thanks for sharing, I kind of agree about the hard floor scraping and it does seem a slightly cheaper build in the handle area. But I do think the suction may be better than the older one.

Yes i have the new one and had the old one. The old one is better made and feels sturdier. One of gtechs so called selling points was some type of steel hingey thing, trust me the older hinge was better. Is it good at its job. Yes just not quite as good as it was

Looks like the quality is going down just watched the platinum version and that quality was not good mr Grey needs to get back to his roots and put the quality back against the £/
