I have actually developed a dislike for the pops and bangs specifically because it actually makes it difficult to judge the sound of an exhaust. When you are listening to an exhaust video you are trying to judge different characteristics but then you just hear pops and bangs loud enough the mic essentially cuts out.
That exhaust sounds great. Wish this option was available 6 years ago when I bought my Billy Boat exhaust through you for my ‘15 GTI. Your video is very nicely put together too 👌
This is the most perfect sounding (at least from video) GTI exhaust in both configurations. Nice throaty sound and tone that's not overbearing or obnoxious but still gives you the blurbs and gurbs when you decide to punch it! I'm looking into this and so far it is the one I am leaning towards.
Armytrix has an insane exhaust but it's over twice the price. I just can't justify the cost at this time, but if I ever have it in the budget I would sure like to give them a chance since they talk a big game.
@@vr6gls Because they're young and somehow tie it directly to their masculinity measurement. I drove MT's for the past 26 years. I do miss rowing through the gears, but not while sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. I find the DSG more engaging IF you know how to learn and manage how the computer adjusts while driving. (I use sport and shifter 90% of time)
I've tried the unitronic one on my MK7 and it was pretty awful to say the least, completely tunes the smoothness out of the car. 1-2 Shifts were jumpy and rough, letting off the throttle at lower rpm's is rough and lurchy. Absolutely not worth it for just the sound, but I prioritize driveability and smoothness in a manual car. DSG might be less jumpy but I've never driven one with that tune
@@Primalzon yo i can attest to this. Still running unitronics stage 2 overrun file and i had to COMPLETELY alter the way i drive to adapt to the quirkiness of it. I do like the damn noises though so as of now its staying 👍 it was so different i called unitronic as i drove around because i was astounded at how jumpy and violent it was when letting off throttle. Maybe it was a learning curve, maybe it took some time for the car to adapt to the tune 🤷♂️but i can drive it normally now. 🎵BrrrrrrrrrrRRRRrrr popopop pop poppp 🎶
Are you guys running a catted or catless downpipe in this video? I have a CTS catted downpipe with the stock exhaust... Don't want droning at cruising speed with my catted downpipe...
It sounds good but damn it's loud in all configurations with an OEM downpipe. I can only imagine how much louder it would be with an aftermarket downpipe. Any chance for something resonated? Maybe I'm getting too old this stuff
so the ecs dv makes the stustustu sound? just curious i love that sound and I want it on my mk7 but i heard bad things about the dv upgrade? lmk thanks!
before I installed the boost tap I was getting pops and dsg farts every time I would shift, however after I installed the boost tap to open and close the valves manually, no matter if its open or closed I no longer have the exhaust pops and dsg farts I was once getting, any help??
Cruising around just did 40k service still need to do more wallet feeling abused... ECS coming along it's awesomeness... Heavy sighs, when does Downpipe come along???
This car is notorious for drone so unless you are impervious to drone I would expect you will be needing a res installed where the factory res would be.
Is this one running the ECS diverter spacer? Mine sounds similar, but with the hood up and free revving it sounds like the turbo is surging, even while driving I get quite a few "stututus". Just wanted to see if your guys was similar
The sound is great, I really like valved exhaust systems they are very practical I guess ':D Closed valve for neigbours and open valve for cruising around a city ;) Unfortunately I couldn't fine this product on the website :/ ECS Tuning, could you please help me out? :D
Keep getting emails pushing back their in stock eta. Now it says eta March 11th 😂 and I originally ordered it when they were supposed to be in stock January 28th.
@@michaelkain7641 how long did it take to come in? I ordered mine December 6th with a ship date of the 17th in Dec, now it got pushed a 3rd time towards the 17th this month.
They ended up shipping it out March 10th so idk like about 2 months from when I ordered. It originally told me the 28th of January it should have been shipped.
ECS Tuning that took me to the diverter spacer. I’m asking about the boost tap that your website refers to as needed for install of your valved exhaust
You could have found it yourself... Hopefully you didn't spend 2 months twiddling your thumbs. www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/20t-billet-boost-tap-assembly/003621ecs01a~a/
That exhaust looks awfully like my IPE exhaust. Awful for me since I paid over $5K cnd after shipping and duty. Don't get me wrong I love my exhaust by far IMO my best purchase. The only visible difference is the IPE has a resonator. Catless is the way to go for max sound. It might look the same but it doesn't sound like my IPE. Sounds good for the price
