GTR converting my Datsun Sunny pickup… in just 7 DAYS!

When there was talks of this getting a kit I was hoping it would be the hakotora kit. It's one of my favourite jdm cars and I'm extremely jealous.

1st of all,, yes!! Please use the Mx5 engine . Keep that memory alive. The way I see it. You guys did not lose a thing, you guys gained new hopes and dream from a fresh restart. 2nd, you did not do a good job, you did an outstanding job. I consider you guys & everyone your involved with the best at craft & it shows entirely through your builds. My dreams are living through you guys. Thank you for the wonderful content.

A Datsun L16 or L20 with twin side draft carbs would go so good in this thing, everyone does sr or rotary builds, doing something old school in an old school car would be a good change from the normal!

Garage09? Yeah, even just finding where this kit is made was mission impossible for me. I gave up lol Nice one, Adam. 👊🏾

You can use S13 for the complete front end. The LCA's fit you just drill out the hole in the cross member to put a larger bolt. Then use the the S13 knuckle to fit the strut. For the steering if you use the original steering set up you need 2x right hand inner tie rod ends then flip the the thread section on the left hand side threaded link around a use S14 rack ends ( only S14 have M14 threaded ends ) then you use a adjustable castor rod with treaded bar in the front removing the rose joint to fit in the original mounting. You gain around 25mm front track when completed. 👍

The truck is SICK!!! Definitely needs a turbo on whatever motor you do! To have a GTR front end it has to rev high and shoot flames!!! 🔥🔥

Hakotora swaps are sick! I fully agree on the mx5 engine swap idea. There's always a rusty nb/6speed waiting around to be a donor. The engines are light, the box feels good. Everything is cheap and easy to replace. 👌

Been looking forward to this... Few road trips needed this year if you ever get a chance from the schedule.Would love to see you all out and enjoying the new cars. Not sure about all the vents on the front but the old skyline look is class. Main thing is Adam likes it and TBF, it looks nuts all done GTR looks, any way to stuff an RB in there 😂and have those sounds? If not an RB, then rotary or something high revving and loads of intake noises. Again, whatever makes you happiest.

That's one of the cleanest tastefully done Sunny's I've seen. You guys knocked it out of the park even with such a short turn around time.

I would have to see side-by-side pictures to spot the changes because the change is so complete and smoothly realized! On the surface, I would think an MX-5 engine would be borrowing trouble but I can see how it would help tell the story of the rise from the ashes.

it looks amazing. as far as the engine. a interesting alternitave might be a N/A CA18 biuld. reason being that the Datsun cam with either the A12 or L14 that later being a 1.4 4 cyilinder versino of the L20 in the 2000 GT and GT-X C10 skylines. the CA18 is effectively a 1.8 4cylnder RB from later skylines. this feels like it would fit the theme of the truck. also a new kind of engine to play with and biuld. (personally an N/A ITB CA18DE would be the way i would go)

Adam I’m so stoked for you bro… a huge upgrade from the mx5 in my opinion… the datto Ute looks mint as 👌🏼…do not replicate the mx engine or put a sr20! I’d love to see you put a 13b with a turbo… it will make you giggle like a little kid every time you drive it 😂 much love and respect for all the Drift Games boys…. Ho Lee Phak... What a badass Datsun and the greatest i`ve seen. Frontswap looks so freakin amazing, tuff title is such a great idea and the overall pakage is way more then beyond incredible. I could understand, if you`ll swap to Miata engine, but wouldn`t it be way cooler just going completely crazy, investing the same amount of work in an engine you always wanted, but never had. You`re Miata will be lifetime memorie for sure, so full flat out insanity. ;)

Such a cool looking truck now and the quality of work looks so good and the idea of tying all the old cars in to one is so nice.
