God i loved my GTX 1060. It has served me well for 4 years, every game 1080P mid to high settings = 70-90FPS. I upgraded to a RTX 3060 but i will forever hold my 1060 in my heart. Such an amazing GPU. If you have to count every penny, this card will still serve you will for another 2-3 years.
My beloved 1060 6GB served me very well till 2021, so many adventures and emotions we experienced together...you truly have earned your rest my dear fellow lol
Not really until 2021, it depends on you. Even close to 2023 there still aren't many games that make it struggle in 1080p at high, and the ones that do are horribly optimized, resident evil 8 shows decent optimization.
@@jordanliu6097 it is definitely worth the upgrade. You get dlss just incase if the gameplay isn’t good enough. And ray tracing if you really like visuals
@@jordanliu6097 idk where you live or the prices in your country but I'd Save up a bit more and get a 3060, trust me, do it for future proofing, the 12GB VRAM will come in handy and also the power of the 3060 which is like 15-20% faster than a 3050. but if you really can't afford the 3060, a 3050 is still a good upgrade, I'm recommending the 3060 so that you don't have to upgrade in many years to come, right now the standard for GPU's is 6GB Vram, the 3050 has 8GB, but in like 3 years, the standard will be 8GB minimum for newer games.
@@jordanliu6097 i had a gtx 1060 3gb, it is worth the upgrade, they are the same price you paid for the gtx and will boost your fps triple time.. the 3gb is for high settings while the 3050 for ultra , that im 1080p ofc
25~40% difference, eh not worth it yet, its best to upgrade when its doubling up the performance so maybe 4050 will be the card to replace old tank 1060... if it doesnt consume crazy amounts of power like 500w on higher end models...
The difference between these two is like 1050ti vs 1060 But the actual price of 3050 in my country is over 500-600$ at best If someone is considering to upgrade then go for 3060 cause there's no real profit in 3050 I mean look, Cyberpunk is still cyberLag and RDR2 is still sluggish and drops below 60fps on 3050 Wait 1-2 years and games will be so demanding (or unoptimized) that 3050 will become weak
@@lancecoleman6684 Actually the prices went down to almost MSRP but stillway too expensive since I live in Ukraine and... Well you know our economy is shit
I upgraded to the evga 3050 and i was using the evga 1060 3GB model and man what a upgrade. 2 to 3 times more fps at 2560x1080 ultrawide 75hz monitor i used since the 1060 3gb model came out. The 3050 cost me $650. And now i just bought a aoc 3440x1440 144hz 34 inch ultrawide monitor and my 3050 cant handel it😢 so now i need another card but i think i should wait till the RTX 50xx come out.
@@d00s0n I bought a used gigabyte eagle rx6600(=3060) with a warranty until the end of 2023 for like 150+- bucks recently.Perfect upgrade for my old 1060
bruh 3050 is a straight up scam if you have a 1060, how can there only be a 10-20 frame difference between a 2016 gpu and a gpu the came out in 2022, either buy a used 1060 from someone for 100 dollars if you're on a budget, or just get yourself a 3060 ti.
What do you expect out of the lowest end card of the 30 series? It's nothing special, but it's worth the upgrade if you can find it for around $250 or less. Also, even if the 3050 is slightly overpriced, you can't use the price of a used card for comparison. Also also, 10-20 frames when we're talking the difference between 50 and 60, or 80 and 100, is significant. You have to look at performance increase as a percentage to accurately compare.
Question for you, I have seen an msi ge63 i7 8th gen 16gb ram and the gtx 1060 6gb for £300 really good condition, o ly going to use mainly for web design and a little big of gaming as I have a ps5 , is this a good price still? I'm ready to buy.
