4060 Ti wouldve been so much better if Nvidia didn't gimp the memory bus width on most of the 40 series cards, this is why games like Alan Wake 2 have similar performance on 3060 Ti / 4060 Ti, some games do better with higher memory bus width (3060 Ti = 256bit bus / 4060 Ti = 128bit bus)
So many strange choices on it, could have used at least the same 192 bit as the 4070 has, and the memory selection of either 8 or 16 GB makes no sense either. 8 is too little for upscaled 1440p at high-ish settings in a lot of games by now, which cripples its DLSS advantage. 16 is way too much for the cores it has, even in 3d modeling it won‘t get used unless you specifically make stuff with ludicrous tri counts but low texture res for some reason. It should have 12, and the 4070TI should have 16.
well a Graphics card with GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit bus would mine Ethereum like crap.... so go figure. Pretty sure Nvidia went with these gimped memory busses to detour miners.
While the 2060S was giving 40%-60% more performance than the 1660 Ti, 3060 Ti giving 30%-50% more than the 2060S, the 4060 Ti only had a 10%-20% performance improvement compared with the 3060 Ti. As much as I would like to be amazed with its power consumption, that is just a sign that this GPU should have been a 4060 at most.
Nope this is a sign gpu design companies are not able to push boundaries like they used to due as Nvidia CEO believes Moore’s law is dead. I like this approach personally as you don’t have to upgrade your hardware often and keep it long time like video game consoles. Game developers need to optimize their shit or else people should stop buying.
Check the power usage between them. Efficiency difference is huge. Sure 4060Ti deserves many criticism regarding many things but the FPS gain considering way lower consumption is impressive too me. Yes if you are paying your own electricity bill it is important thing as well. Personally I dislike everything about the memory system used on the 4060Ti. I have different expectations and needs for a GPU and I am not getting card in this range so it doesn’t really affects me. Still I wish that they have given it better memory system and with that win by tons off people who buys this class of the GPU. All that said 700 to 800 MHz more on the GPU and better performance while having way less power consumption is something I like too see.
Great video, this allows the benefit of seeing skipping a generation, 1660TI - 3060TI = double fps or so, always skip a gen folks, well at least for gammers anyway, you can always turn down your settings for a year...
@@tctyt Yeah, I see your point there. I wanted to buy a 3060 Ti or 3070 Founders Edition in 2020 but bots were faster. So now I got a 4060 Laptop. If I chose a 4060 Ti, I would use every one of its advantages wisely: DLSS 3 or just save energy with less demanding games (high energy prices here), better raytracing, better performance the lower the resolution is (1080p here). Plus the requirements for the power supply are lower while the case size has to be roughly the same). Better encoders and omniverse compatibility lean towards a product that is in the same overall cost level. So I pick the faster one. 🥰
Nice comparison good sir. I would be interested to see an average cost per frame comparison, with inflation of course, between these cards. Its obvious it has not matched the raw increase in framerate but it would be interesting to see by how much
Thank you so much, Andrei, for your response. Thanks to your answer, I bought the second generation of this motherboard, and I am more than satisfied. It's amazing how energy-efficient these boards are.
@@danielheaven On a well designed PC case with good airflow, you'll actually see the GPU temps run a bit lower than a GPU on an open bench. If you have a garbage case like the old Corsair Air 540 or NZXT H510 then you can expect the temps to run hotter.
Averages presented at the bottom are totally screwed and has nothing near to the the gameplay presented. Look at 4060ti on Cyberpunk. FPS most of the time is below 80 and sometimes reaching 80 and little above for a while, and AVG presented is 87. How?
since there are different versions of DLSS, and newer generation cards can use the newer versions, doing this would make it impossible to make a genuine comparison.
1660ti was a scam and trash new and still isn’t worth shit. Should have bought a 2060 if you wanted a low end gpu that generation (2070s if you where smart)
@@theplayerofus319 Tracing has been in games for 5 years now, and we are all testing the best projects with tracing in a regular raster. These are the future of games and natural progress
@@rt_9117 idk what you want from me. What projects bruh 😂 most still use raster because of the Performance. A 3060ti and 4060ti at 1080p might pull it of but id rather play at 1440p thatn 1080p with rt. Rt at 1080p is a joke.
