believe it or not i found a full pc unit on the street that include 1000gb hdd and i7 4th generation cpu and GTX 970 gpu and works great after i did some cleaning to it. it is crazy
@@anisben6378I could not believe it too. when I saw the pc case near the trash 🗑️. I said in my mind just pick it up even for some part in case it did not run, but it turned out great and runs fine
Can’t believe GTX970 is still working and powerful in 2024! My last card 750Ti and just bought RTX3060 in 2022😮 I think get second hand GTX1060 6GB is enough for me! Thanks vid!
ehhh. I mean it's more like a 4050ti tbh that is, well you'll see. 900 and 10 series was the best graphics card nVidia ever made. 20 series and 40 series not so much, 600 series not so much, 500 series lol not so much. It's not a 1080ti what I'm saying, this is one of the reasons nVidia gets criticized so much, their GPUs aren't made to last. performance is shocking for some of these at the same time things like >low settings >cyberpunk has FSR enabled >it's performance >still gets 45 fps I played basegame Cyberpunk with a 5700XT and stuck to 42ish fps on ultra settings because I hated the way FSR made things look and I didn't want to sacrifice the fidelity so I mostly put up with it. Getting that at 1080p, and on low settings, AND being forced to use not only FSR (ultra quality FSR I use for Rogue Trader on a GTX 700m series, it's just barely better than 900p) but that bad image quality is to me "I basicalyl can't run this game." And that's with upscaling, the devs need to personally implement it it's not a magic free performance button. A 3060 would have ok lifespan due to the additional VRAM, what made their GPUs have such poor lifespan wasn't just the driver support or whatever it was VRAM, that's why RX 580 is usually the recommended ultra budget GPU.
GTX 970 is the oldest nvidia card that can still play all modern games on 1080p with 4gb vram. Ofcourse you can count the high end GTX 700 series cards but they have no support for modern drivers and many modern games perform shit due to older drivers and architecture even if the 780 had 4gb
Seems like still decent 720p card, even in newer titles. I bought one for my Win XP machine (mostly overkill, I know but I am using 1600x1200 monitor) and it's performing admirably. Should test it in main rig.
No. I'm here trying to figure out how things ran on 980m the laptop version of 980 is slightly less powerful than GTX 970 so a 970 performance can give you rough idea what you can and can not play. If you are going budget, compare RX 580 8gb price to GTX 980 4gb, the 980ti 6gb is such a better choice problem is it hogs power 235w or something like that, cost more, need more cooling, I'd recommend a GTX 980ti if you have the PSU to support it. For regular office PC with like 460w office or family PC power supply, a GTX 980 is much better, if you get the reference FE edition it will help ventilate the case, a triple fan 980ti will be really hard to keep cool in budget office build. If cost the same, maybe get a 980, if 580 is cheaper even by a dollar get the 580. The 970 needs to be under $50 to be worth considering since RX 580's are more powerful mostly and they have twice the VRAM. 970 is a sorta nostalgia build as much as budget PC. The 980 is a better choice if it doesn't cost a lot more. But, if you have a 500w PSU or better, you should consider getting a GTX 980ti from ebay instead. It'll smoke all those cards and not only provide much better performance, it also still has enough VRAM for 1080p mostly. 4gb is literally the absolute bottom barrel minimum for 1080p gaming, even then you'll have video memory issues. You can turn down settings or resolution though. IF you have the cooling and PSU for it though (i.e. not a converted office PC, has front intake and exhaust fans and a 500w bronze PSU or better) I'd strongly consider getting a RX 5700XT instead. It's literally double the performance of a GTX 980, literally twice the VRAM, consumes almost as much power as a 980ti (225w), is newer and therefore has much better DirectX12/2 suppoort for modern games, and last I checked only like 20 bucks more than a 980ti ($150 for 5700xt vs $130 for 980ti) oh wow holy shit nevermind I jsut found as of May 2024 ebay has GTX 980ti 6gb cards for roughly $100. Go get that. Definitely. I would still consider paying the 50 bucks extra for a 5700XT just because all the reasons listed above, 980ti is old enough you only have Dx12/1 support iirc, it'll not be so well support for newer games, it has less VRAM, it has much less performance, but it costs 2/3 of the price for literally 2/3 the performance. But for $100 a 980ti is a wonderful card for anyone looking to get into gaming cheap an quick. Check your PSU. If you don't want to rely on dodgy old PSU and the thing is some 260w shitPSU I mean you can spend $50 and get a 550w power supply and then spend $100 on a 980ti and literally play most games at very high setting 1080p, between the two it's basically playing at high setting 1080p vs playing ultra 1080p between the GTX 980ti and 5700XT. The 1080ti is the best, but if it costs near $200 not worth it tbh. So for the people wondering, if you are reusing the power supply and just slapping a GPU in a office PC, the RX 480 8gb is probably your best bet, it's only like 8% less powerful than a 580 8gb but only use 150w of power vs 580's 185w so literally even if you have a piece of garbage Dell Optiplex 7000 series 260w power supply, you can still use a RX 480 no problem just plug it in install the driver from the internet there you go done you can play most titles 1080p at ok settings. Check the Dell power supply or whoever made the PC the PSU wattage (apparently many new Optiplex have 260w 280w literally like half an XPS family PC) and also the power cable, some of these only have a single 6 pin to VGA, this is why I recommend 480, RX 480 reference has 1x6pin, RX 580 has 1x8pin. So make sure there's compatibility if reusing PSU, if not reusing PSU check and see if a good 500w or better will fit in the case. The goal of the office PC is spending literally as little money as possible and minmaxing your build for maximum graphical power per dollar/euro/real/peso/ruble. Check local markets and see techpowerup comparisons www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-gtx-970.c2620 this site is mostly accurate afaik. A 970 is fine too, just don't expect miracles from it.
@@YTROX10 none of our comments are necessary. he tested the gtx 1060 6gb in 60 games just a month ago. just go watch that video instead of asking him to test the 1060 again. plus if you know that he has tested the gtx 1060 then that makes ur comment unnecessary more than mine
Сегодня проблема не в 512 mb более медленной памяти, а вообще в ее нехватке! Мощности чипа хватает выставлять более высокие настройки в играх, но видеопамяти не хватает.
