Don't forget put likes/dislikes and subscribe for more. Thank you in advance Bios issues are still one of the common issues on graphic cards. Here you will see how to diagnose video card with bios which needs to be reprogrammed. Thanx
See lots of people trying to get Eli to explain every detail about how to do repairs for free, can't understand why so many people can be so ignorant. 1st: He makes money by doing repairs...I hope ;) 2nd: If you want him to go into the minute details then you should be forking over cash for those lessons. Geeze people he's already showing you too much for free, if you can't figure out how to do this from watching a few videos then you are the type who requires detailed classes and those cost money. Eli I hope you decide to make detailed how to video's and put them behind a pay wall, you deserve it and that money could really help you get all the tools required to open up shop. Believe it or not your skill set is in demand especially with Vintage retro computer electronics, Motherboards, GPU's etc. It could be helpful to have an army of Padowan's working for you ;) Great work as always Eli keep it up!
Yeah, totally agree with you mate. For those people who wants to learn more about repairs, PAY Eli. Cause all Eli invested a lot of time into it and gradually gathered those skills, Not like those people who wants to learn those things over a night.
Man, pleas more!) so interesting to watch and thank you for sharin your work. Congrats on 1K subs, you deserve more tho!! Bios as well keeps light settings
Great video, mate! Can you explain to us in another video in more details where to meassure most of the video cards voltages and rezistans. It was pretty clear for the Titan, but i have 5770 dead one and don't know where to measure. Maybe a video called - understanding how videocards works Thanks again ;)
i know im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot the password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Augustine Jay Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Augustine Jay WTF IT REALLY WORKED :O I literally hacked my ig account details after about 45 mins by using the site. I had to pay 15 bucks but definitely worth the price =) Thank you so much you saved my account :D
Last night I lost my shit when i updated my R9 270X Gigabyte bios with a wrong series bios and bricked it. It was my first attempt of vbios flash and went wrong. I tought i burnt it. I searched over internet and found a way with bootable usb to make another vbios flash. I had luck with integrated vga HD 4250 because i hadn't acces to another pc to make the bootable usb. Anyway, keep up with the good stuf. It is very interesting :)
If I was this dude, I'd be buying broken 100$ titans on ebay then fix and resell them for hundreds of dollars lol. I wish I had the knowledge you have.
Hi, Loving your videos and great to see you repairing graphics card rather than just binning them.Quick question where did you get the .bin file for this Titan X repair as I need to find the bios .bin to reload mine.
But i really love the work youre doing. You gave me the confidence to reflow my gpu chip cause i didnt have display and it worked, i mean i blew up a capcitor in the process and it doesnt really effect performance but my gpu is running like it did out of the box.
Some graphics cards have a small switch on them that allows you to revert the bios to previous settings, in case you manage to brick your card when you do a bios change.
Thanks for another great video, it's great to see how "easy" it can be for someone who knows how stuff works :) One question though, had it been possible to "flash the bios" while on the card, or is that not possible even if the chip is OK ? Or was the bios chip "destroyed" so that You had to replace it with a functioning one ? Best regards. ((P.S. I believe the card in the video is one of the "original Titans" (GK110) with 6GB VRAM... if I'm not mistaken ;))
Love your videos! I have a GTX Titan and it has video out but then drops out after a few minutes after installing windows. It seems to over heat maybe and then shuts down. I do get a screen, but like I mentioned it drops out after awhile. Any thoughts? Thanks again for your videos. Maybe I can send it to try and repair as part of a video?....just a thought.
Great video mate... I have a titan X Maxwell and it's not desame like this one...i have problem whit one place for MOSFET How can I send u a picture to tell me what can I do? Can I send u a picture?
UrokLizard yes exactly and it’s fixed. Other one still in process, but this week will let you know either way. So you should expect your cards shortly. Thank you for your patience!!! You are very good customer.
nice work dude, but i like to resolder pins with iron. no need to tin, no need to blow hot air. blowing is not good for board so i like to minimize times of blowing. resolder with iron looks even better that hot air. why do u thing that bios corruption is happend?
It is! GK110 chip means Kepler. Titan - Kepler Titan Black - Kepler Gen 2 Titan Z - Kepler Gen 2 Dual GPU Titan X - Maxwell Titan X Pascal - Pascal "Gen 1" (better 1080 non-Ti) Titan Xp - Pascal "Gen 2" (better 1080Ti)
Yep. The Titan X is a Maxwell generation GPU and has a black cooler shroud. The original Titan is a Kepler generation GPU with a silver shroud. Exactly like the GPU in the video. Also, the chip code matches a GK110 A1 stepping, which is a Kepler Titan / GTX 780Ti chip. For reference: The original Titan chip code is GK110 The Titan X chip code is GM200 NVidia's post Kepler chip naming scheme is as follows: Much like Kepler's naming scheme, all modern NVidia GPUs have a 2 letter code denoting architecture. GM for Maxwell and TU for Turing alongside a 3 digit code denoting the performance tier. For example, TU102 would be a Turing chip form the upper mid tier, which just so happens to be an RTX 2080/2080Ti. A GM200 is a Maxwell chip of the high end/flagship, which was released in the Titan X. The GTX 980/980Ti, which was in the same generation as the Titan X, used a GM204 code, denoting a Maxwell architecture of the upper mid range. High end: x00 upper mid tier: x02, x04 lower mid tier: x06 Low tier: x08 Nowadays for the current NVidia GPUs, we never see the x00 silicon like we did in Kepler and Maxwell, as it ends up either unreleased or released as high end server/workstation hardware. We do however see the x02 silicon being used for "high end" GPUs like the RTX 2080Ti and RTX Titan (soon to be released).
I have a ? I have a nividia gtx980ti founders edition it has the same board as the titan and numerous others.. its the one with the 5 caps with one staggered so there not In a straight line. im a great car/truck mechanic very good at diagnostic on the system and understanding how they work its all D/C... im dabbling in repairing small electronics due to no work.... my son bought this card it has 12 volts and had 5.012volts on one side of the the small inductor on molex side plugs opposite end of vid outputs .....it shows 5.036.V on SIDE closest to mobo ... on the side facing the gpu 8 & 6 pin molex psu plugs it shows -7.023volts?????????... I found a apl3516a switch that is only getting 2.07v on input side and 0v output side so I went to probing and popped a 0,ohm resistor I finally got proper leads desoldered the resistors jumped them with solder got fans and lights working again...the card don't show up in the bios of my mobo or in windows system. No video output everything looks OK no hot spots the chip gets hot upon start up its getting same voltage out of the inductors @0.087 V the 3.3 v side is getting 3.3 in and out on the other apl3516a just above the one that is getting only 2.07v and nothing out the location of those switches are directly behind the top 2 of the 4 hdmi & pci output plugs bellow the multiple card plug next to bios chip i think . Sorry for writing you a book I subscribed and like all videos also recommended others to sub and like ur vids if u have any suggestions please let me know also where does that apl3516a get its power from ... these SMD pc boards ar amazing with there tech im waiting on parts and a rework station wit air & a new t12 iron
Great fix i do have 2 Titan black and i replace the thermal for both of them one card works perfectly after clean etc, the second not detected and no signal at all i cant even flash bios of unstill driver or do anything actully totally not working ,the fan is spinning normal light power seems fine, any help will be highly appreciated.
Hi Elia-Tech, great video thanks! I had a PC about 5yrs old with 2 x GTX Titans (in Sli), when I powered it up recently it worked ok. Then 1hr later , no display & all fans going full speed! I worked out my primary Titan was faulty, when I pulled it apart I noticed one of the SiC780 chips was faulty (clear evidence of over heating). I'm trying to remove it with my SMD hot air-gun but no luck! I'm assuming it's because the bottom of the chip also has pads which are soldered to a ground or power plane. Do you have any advice on how to (safely) remove/replace it? I'm guessing I'll need to heat the bottom of the PCB at the same time? Is there anyway to private message you?
I have a video card that doesn't load video drivers, when i install video drivers it will then BSOD then it will keep rebooting until i go into safemode and uninstall drivers.
RT809F Programmer, I like the content and your explanation, but have more details in your description. You can even add affiliate links, but give links... you can make money from doing this. I know you are just starting out here on RU-vid, but be a little bit more organized. Also, can I send you a 1080 ti to repair?
Man I have a GTX 780TI and Titan 6GB both were super good cards up until they just stopped working. Figured out what the problem was it was when the drivers got detected both the gpus would stop working and now when i try to see if they work its just a black screen or pc tries to load then black screens.
I have a R9 280X that doesnt give out image, do you follow any kind of schematics for testing or Knowing where to check voltages and resistances? or there is a semi-universal method?
@@loko1505 just search SOIC8 on eBay for the adapter (a couple bucks). The programmer, well that's questionable. You can get a PICKit3 for about $10. Just be sure to Google the chips for compatibility. The k150 was good for a large number of chips but that was years ago. Not sure if they kept it up to date because apparently mine had a knock off chip installed.
May i please know how to send u my card its a gtx 1080ti that i only got to play 2 times with it and after there was no display and the gpu is not getting DETECTED by the motherboard tried more then one pc.. but the fans are spinning... plz help i spend lots of money on this card
I got lost at the bios section. Did you take the chip in question out, and then put it in a working card to upload the bios. And then take that out to place back in?
Hi I also have one titan x with fan not working I buy replacement but the new one also don't work, do you have a hint for me where I have to search on pcb and where and what component.
I have exact the same gpu but it has a other problem, at the 5v phase i get a straight short when checking resistance. And if i turn on the gpu i hear a buzzing sound from that area. Do you have any clue what the problem could be?
So I just bought some new GPU's with corrupted bios from what I'm understanding from this video I can Flash a new bios onto the card even though there's no bias on it cause if that's what I'm getting from this video a thank God I did just waste money
Hi everyone, i am repairing a gtx 780 which had a burnt memory phase. The high side mosfet died and shorted to high side so continous 12v were being supplied to memory chips. I have measured the resistance on memory chips and it gives me a short so i am planning to replace all 12 of them. Can anyone tell me is it necessary to change bios after memory swap ? Ill be using the same memory from same manufacturer (i hope i get what the seller on aliexpress is claiming)
my gtx titan xp show error on screen that pcie power is not connected i know my psu is fine as i am running rtx 2060 on it without any problem before i was running gtx 1070 zotac 3 fans gpu with 2 pci power connectors so i know my psu is fine and checked gtx titan on other psu it shows same error what should i check??
Hello, I have an ASUS GTX 780 DCUII OC with no video output, I've measured 0.9V vcore, 1.6v memory, pci-e 1.04v, there was also 3.3v on the bios could it be the same problem? UPDATE looks like it was the Bios I've used bios programmer and soic8 clip and now it works perfectly
Hi, I have the same problem, but I cannot find the .BIN file to install the new bios from where I can get it since where I download it is .rom i have a zotac gtx titan black. regards
