The most heartbreaking story in the whole drama. His father's company got robbed and conned. Later, his father passed away and his mother remarried. Got neglected and choose to live on his own. Suffered alone. Avenge his father but ended up running away and landed in north korea met the woman he really love but in the most difficult situation. He doesn't have anything to offer to her but she stayed despite of how dangerous their situation is. And finally, when they should depart happily, he died trying to save her. The amount of sadness and pain Gu SeungJun go through is too much. I think that meeting seo dan is his reward after all he been through atleast on his last moment he met someone who loves him. 💔😖 p.s that's a major spoiler but I'm hurt!!! Edit: I think Gu Seungjun had his happy ending though it's not the happy ending we expect. All of his life he just wanted to feel loved and have a family again. That's what Seo Dan gave. When everyone vanish, Seo Dan remained in his side. Like what a family should do. Remember the line he doesn't have someone to mourn even when he dies, and the ending goes that he's wrong because Seo Dan was there. And I think that's the most touching and purest ending I've seen. He didn't wish anything just someone.
my second lead syndrome T.T and she finally got to experience true love and have someone who isn't cold and indifferent to her??????? n the writers give her thIS noNSENSE ENDING????? i mean of course if he lives then the drama would be too unrealistic but boy i'M ANGRY.

Yeah, and Seo Dan also had a sad story,, she has fiance, but her fiance loves another woman, despite waiting for him for ten years,, and when she moved on, her man being killed while trying to save her 😭😭😭 I was like "why has Seo Dan done to deserve all of that?" 😭😭😭

Like everyone else in the comments, I'm here because I can't move on from how cruel their ending was. Yes, he's a conman, but he just wanted to avenge his father's legacy. I cried the whole night after watching the finale not because of how beautiful the ending was, but because I can't really appreciate the main couple's reunion, knowing that these two had to suffer & lose each other. They deserved as much happiness as Seri & Junghyeok.
I felt bad too... for both of them. Life has been unfair, I really thought that new found love could be their new beginning. I still hoped and waited until the last episode that he's alive :-(

gu seung jun successfully escaped north korea, he didn't die from the gunshot it was just a plot to escape, but after years he managed to took revenge and started his real business. Yes Seo dan was heartbreak cos she thought he died, but she focused on her career and became so successful, she was desperate just like Seri but she kept her promise and waited, years later seo dan was holding her cello solo concert and coincidantly met him, he finally got his chance to be with her again, they were engage outside north korea and fulfilled their promise.. LADIES AND GENTLEMENS THATS MY ENDING, NOBODY CAN CHANGE THIS, PERIOD..😭😭😭
I was waiting for Gu Seung Jun to suddenly appear alive and have a happy ending with Seo Dan until the very end of this drama. I suddenly forgot about the Ri-Ri couple when these two love story’s started to blossom. And then.. he died! I cried like a child at 4 in the morning!’ 😭💔
while I was watching after he died in my mind i was like Why did he have to die?! He was also one of my favorite characters whenever we focused on the lead couple i was like when are we going to see them?! While he was still alive I kept on saying he looked like my brother
I cried at what he said that when he thought no one would be there to mourn/cry for him when he dies afterall he realized it was all wrong bc there is SeoDan the one he loves and at his dying state he feels the pain and happiness at the sametime because SeoDan is there :(
If you think about it this is the happy ending for him. Imagine if he fled to Europe. Where he just hop from place to place hiding without any certainty. Hoping he could return to his lover which is truly just a pipe dream. that's horrible life. He truly have nowhere to go He died as a hero. Knowing he is loved and cared. Also his death ultimately what took down Se-hyung completing his revenge
But u can't be so certain that the chinese gangsters will be so devoted. I thought the second eldest son was caught so why would they still be going after him?
@@zihao3227 that man wouldn't be caught if Alberto isn't killed. Seo Dan and the man that Protect Alberto is the informant that later point to Manager Oh and the Brothers. He is not only running away from gangster but also from the Law. So the police and government will be after him.
Okay, but would it not be a less dark ending for second lead couple if Seung Jun survives his gunshot wounds? For a more dramatic touch, he could be rendered partially and temporarily paralyzed until Seo Dan nurses him back to full recovery; and they could continue their lives and relationship somewhere in Switzerland as well - this is the best revenge. Another plot could take care of Seri's greedy brother and sister-in-law.
I agree with you +rockzs74r. It's called catharsis in literature. It's like for what he did, he has to pay something back. It's sad, yes, but it's beautiful of you think about it.
I love this couple more than the lead tbh and I'm itching to write a fanfic where they get a happy ending. I was so mad when I watched the last ep and he had to die like why?! Are Seri and Jeonghyeok the only ones allowed to be happy? Seo Dan finally found a man who loves her back and the writer decided to once again rob her of that. That's messed up
I refuse to believe he died. When they were in the ambulance the medic checked his pulse but he didn't say anything, he didn't confirm his death or put a blanket over him. There wasn't any funeral held which if he was actually dead I think seo dan would've done. She said she was going to remain "single" but when she left the house she smiled. I think they saved seung jun but didn't let anyone know. Seri's brother assumed he was dead and didn't send anyone after him anymore. They probably just want to be together and it's easier for them if no one knows he's alive. (Is this actually true... no. Am I going to pretend it is so I don't cry every time I think of the show because they're love story was so GOOD... yes absolutely.)
They both really deserve each other and a happy ending😭 Seo dan whom all her life likes the man that doesnt like her back and had to endure it just to be with him while seung jun hiding and escaping those people he had debt because he had to do it for his dad company. Finding each others comfort on their messy world is fate. They found happiness and love in the middle of chaos. Later they know what their true feelings for each other but life is really cruel because one has to lose another. Their chemistry is undeniably amazing. Sad they had to end this couple story like this😭😭💔 They deserve more😔
Today I finished watching the drama and though tragedies are my favorite I couldn't get over the fact that they could never be together. I respected and liked Gu Seung-joon a lot. From the beginning I liked his character. Even if he did not have his sad background I still would have liked him, because after meeting Dan he gradually began to change for her. He made Dan realise that her love for Ri Jeong Hyeok was one sided. That it had turned into an obsession. He made her realise how amazing she was. That she did not had to be stuck in that web of obsession. Seung joon's love for Dan was true. The scene where he discarded his flight ticket to save her proved it further. I have more to say about him but I think I will end here. I will always remember him as a man who could have been much better than what people thought of him. R. I. P.
Their story made Crash Landing on You more and more special.. the way their story ended is sad and realistic at the same time as every love story can't have a perfect ending.. the way she lives with his memories even after he dies is so so so pure! 🖤
i jsut finished the 16th episode and im so broken over gu seungjun dying omg,.. like he deserved so much to survive he did!! he and seo dan were meant to be just like se ri and jeong hyeok and i know the creatos meant well but like fuck off they took them away :((( i wanted them to be happy together forever

I think the writers made the right decision. Due to his death at the end, this pair will stay with us for a long time. In fiction it's tragedy which touches us more. Happy endings are what we wish for, but we always remember the ones that are not happy. And that is where the beauty of tragic ending lies.

Imma just pretend that my dear Gu Seung Jun didn't die-that he survive and the directors and producers decided not to show us- and after few years him and Seo Dan will have their paths cross again and by that time Gu Seung Jun is already successful and ready to live his life with Seo Dan. Meanwhile,Seo Dan,when she saw Seung Jun her face was,like most of the time,poker and cold and then she walked towards Seung Jun the she hit his stomach then hug him then she strated to cry softly in his sholders. Seung Jun,just laugh at her gestures and also hug her. After a few seconds,she faces him with her teary eyes then said “What took you so long?” then Seung Jun give his famous half-smile-half-smirk then answered “I told you I will be better. So a man like me,can love a woman like you.“ Then they stare at each other eyes with love and longing for one another. Then,after a while,they exchanged the warmth of their lips. And they live happily ever after.
They both deserved to live happily together. Their stories were just so tragic. Seung Jin was kind of annoying in the beginning but he turned out to be a man with a gold heart. For Seo Dan’s entire life, she was chasing after a love that wasn’t hers’ & then she finally met the one that truly cherishes her. Why couldn’t they be together? I was rooting for them 😭
I am still traumatized by his character's death and early exit from the kdrama Time due to health reasons, so happy to see him back in CLOY, hoping the writers will give him a happy end this time, but was totally crushed to see him die again.😥

Hopefully a great director make a movie or series with this couple as main lead. Will b a blockbuster. Both were GREAT, perfect. I was heart broken for them, Not a happily ever after. For a moment, I loss interest in the series because he died n she lost him.
Do you all realise... in dinner mate... after kjh's character returned sjh's character the gifts she gave him before... she tore up his letter just like the way kjh tore up his plane ticket in cloy.... it was sjh's subtle homage to cloy...
Her crying scenes are so tragic, every time she cries I tear up. I guess this is why dramas tend to have sad endings because the writers know it’ll tug our heart strings and leave an impact on us 😭 They weren’t even the main couple and I’m in a depressed hole! This is a great vid btw, the song matches it perfectly.

I quite feel i won't forget this story, I don't know how can i get over it. It gives my heart agony and my heart felt empty. Dan waited and ended up waiting for her turning point that won't ever happen. Seung jun wasn't given a chance, he wasn't able to live happily that he also deserves. All his life, he was chasing for his life. It shows how reality really works. He bacame the person he doesn't want to be and when he finaly knew and wanted to regain his life, it was cut. Dan will continue to live with emptiness in her heart no one can fill.
Their story was so awesome. It was heartbreaking. Seo Dan's character development was the best in the show. I cried a ton then and still it hurts. Why do I keep loving the sad stories. Dramas are my distraction and Iam still sad. 😂😂

I know everyone hear is sad and disturbed. But would like to point out that it was sad for dan too. She was engaged to the main lead who didnt even love her and when she found something real with gu seung jun he was taken away from her too. She indeed truly is a strong person. I m just gonna pretend they are happy and well in an another world. Salanghaeeee;)
it's been 2 years but this couple is the best second couple i've seen so far and i like them more than the main (i like the main tho, seo dan and seung jun's love story just hits different). tbh, i cried more about them. they deserved better 😭💔
I hope there would be a part 2 of the CLOY. And the main protagonists are them. Alberto might fake his death and return to Seo Dan. Or Alberto has a twin brother that will fall to Seo Dan. The story is revolved only to the two of them. They deserve a happy ending, too.

I guess this is what dramas are all about. If anyone feels like killing the writers of this ending then they achieved their goal. Not too many actors have the kind of chemistry that these two had. To the writer of the this drama's ending (for this couple that is): If your goal was to upset your audience and to break their hearts? Well, congratulations on a job well done!!
