This drama really bullied seo dan character, her fiance didnt love her but she was okay with that. But when she found someone she loves and that someone loves her too, they ruined her life again by taking him away from her. They only let her live in the memories of goo seungjun. This is so unfairrrrrrrrrrr for seo dan ;((
same sentiments 😭😭😭 i almost hated ri jeonghyeok because of the way he treated seo dan. i was rooting for this couple more than the main leads because i know the main leads would eventually have their happy ending.
Saddest thing that I can remember is when she was okay with the ring that was originally given to SeRi because that was the first time someone earnestly gave her their heart. I am still crying im not kidding.

Shiba Sana I really hoped for Seung Jun to be alive like they always do on kdramas... but on the next episode I sadly discover he died :( Although it’s really sad I actuallyl love the fact that Seo Dan decided to not marry anyone and follow other passions while being in love with him.

And seo dan didn’t know that bc when Seungjin was in the hospital he regains consciousness but he told the doctor to tell her that he is dead and since seo dan was so sad she didn’t look at the body. For the funeral they used somebody else’s body (in a coffin)
No he needed to die tbh there was only 2 fates for him ( prison or death) since he was constantly living on the run, now looking back the scene with the orphan kids singing to him was foreshadowing his fate.

nah he had no purpose in life, that was his whole character. his redemption was the fact that he picked her and wasn’t selfish in the end even though he could’ve left, it’s good for the show that he died but sad for us viewers

Seo dan's personality is so admirable. She may appear cold-hearted, strong and fierce. But we all know she just chose to be like that. She needed to be like that. Imagine, your first love you chased for years never looked your way and having backstabbing fake friends. She just needed someone to love her entirely. Someone did, to the extent of giving up his life for Seo Dan.
Their story was lovely but if you think about how he was living his life there was no place for him anymore. He was chased by bad guys and was a criminal. He had no place in the society anymore. There were only 2 options for him: to live in prison because even though he changed he couldn't erase the fact that he commited illegal actions; or to live in shadow and continue to hide from people who wanted to kill him, knowing the fact he was using a false identity. Yeah, they loved each other but he would never be a free man. You get me?
Just the thought of it makes my heart so sad, especially when her mother said that "he loves her too even more than his life". The song is perfect... their love story is quite more realistic. Overall, the drama is totally a masterpiece.
It was heartbreaking to see him die but I don’t think injustice was done to seo dan’s character. She was a strong woman and handled herself really well after his death. It showed that love can break you at times but you cannot give up on yourself. I think it was his way of redemption as well. All his life had been spent as a fraud and his last act before his death was noble and brave. Yes, it was sad but not shocking. He had someone who cried for him when he died. There was some foreshadowing regarding that since he that he wouldn’t have any one to mourn if he died in the very same episode. They could’ve been more, it’s true, but I loved seo dan’s character as mature and independent woman.
I was sadder when the scene of him dying was on than when anything remotely bad happened between the main couple :( He was a con artist, a scammer with a terrible past, not trustworthy and manipulative at times, and she was cold, reserved, distant and in love with someone who didn't love her back. But they somehow clashed together and what's the most painful to me is that they both CHANGED for each other. Such polar opposites. Such different personalities and characters. He finally got the long awaited chance to leave North Korea alive, but he threw the chance away just so he could save her. By the way, that scene when he shoots those thugs is EPIC as fuck! And when he finally gets shot (twice), she runs to him, and he remembers that there is in fact someone who will cry and mourn his death, that he isn't alone and abandoned and that scene... Man... It's just so heartbreaking.. Because the time wasn't on their side, and they had so much potential. I'm a sucker for B couples in kdramas, they're somehow almost always portrayed better than the main ones.
I agree. This couple stole the show. I really began to like the con man with a heart of gold, and I loved it when they became drinking buddies. Seo Dan let her guard down when she was with him. and he opened up about his families past to her. Watching them change for each other was so gratifying. It was old movie logic, that this con man would choose her over his own life and that was his final character arc.
The fact that they came close to the heartbreak I felt in Reply 1988 says something. Maybe they even surpassed it. They're each others 'almost' and 'what if'.
I like this girl ever since i saw her act in ‘jealousy incarnate’, she also plays a badass role there. Not the typical whinny 2nd lead gurl. If u have time check her out in that drama. She’s really a badass there.
And 49days too, might be her first drama(or at least the first drama where I knew her)...although I hate her there but she has her reason to be bad so yeah I still like her till now.

Omg this guy is just a high school student in that drama, and this lady plays the role of a badass news achor! and here they are as a couple! This actor is so versatile u can pare him with any actress much older than him!
at the end of this drama seo dan was smiling when she leaves. They didn't show us whether seungjun really died or he just fainted. What if seungjun is just hiding himself and only seo dan knows where he was?...that's what my mom said to me she is also fan of this drama... but it's just our theory hehe. sorry for the grammar

i agree. i cried a lot. but i think it would have been much muchhh better if they included the part where Seung Jun said "I thought no one would cry for me when I die. I'm happy that it's you, but at the same time i'm sad" that's not exactly how he worded it i guess but the thought was like that. y'knowwww that sceneeeee where he was shot and Seo Dan ran towards him and cried like a little kid and everything just...slowed down NOOOOOO 😭
As expected, the main couple had the plot armor. The writers gifted them with a happy ending even if there were so many ways it could've ended bad. As a result, they used the 2nd lead couple to add complexity to the plot's conclusion. For me, the 2nd lead carried the show. I anticipated their scenes more than the main lead. I wouldn't have enjoyed cloy as much if these couple weren't present. I agree that Seo Dan's character has been bullied. She's a strong independent woman yes, but that doesn't mean she deserves to be ignored by her fiancee for 10 years, and lost someone who finally appreciates her and love her whole-being. I don't think I can forgive the writers for that.
I don't usually give much attention to second lead couples; but while watching CLOY, I always look forward to Seo-Dan and Seungjun couple scenes. Their storyline was just as good (maybe even better) than the main lead couple. Their scenes were effortlessly cute and romantic, and very much enjoyable to watch. The character development of these two also made me want to see them more.
When they only have around less than an hour exposure together in a whole drama but the impact is just sooooo high! I love them! I love that chemistry they have. Seo Dan and Alberto fighting! 😍
This is literally a masterpiece. Everyone was in love with Yoon Seri and Ri Jeong Hyeok but for me it was always this couple. The only time I cried when watching cloy was for these two. They're the ones who saved the show for me. If it weren't for them I probably wouldn't have liked cloy at all. (It wasn't that it was bad. It just wasn't to my taste) They deserved a better ending
I still remember how she was just able to tell him she loves him when he was about to die on the ambulance. The fact that she held back what was supposed to be said before.
I love them more than the main couple. Seo dan, a strong independent woman who still needs someone to make her feel special, she didn't felt it to captain ri but when alberto came, everything changed. It's just so sad how they chose to end alberto's life when they finally realize that they have each other :(
imagine meeting and knowing someone only for a very little time but falling so deeply in love with them that they make everything feel ok and that you feel safe and secure and happy ...only for them to be taken away from you

Honestly, I root for them more then I do seri and ri. Their love story was so beautiful and so tragic. The romeo and juliet (Sort of) of CLOY (Crash Landing On You). I hate to see my sweet Dan suffer so much, when she didn't deserve this at all. She wanted Ri's love, but he cared about someone else and "did stuff" behind his back (Just saying it from Dans POV). And then our darling Seung-jun comes into the picture, and starts the biggest SHIP IN THE HISTORY OF SHIPS. Dan needed someone to lean on for once, and Seung-jun was their at her back. A bittersweet goodbye leads to a need to protect at all costs. And at Seung-jun's expense.. their love ended tragically. BUT NO! Their love didn't end! Dan will forever love Seung-jun, and I'm sure he still loves her, even after he died. Let me rephrase this then. Their story, ended tragically, but the love lasted forever. God I just made myself cry. iui
I'm still pissed that the main characters got to have their happy ending but the secondary couple ended so sadly. Their situations were so similar but ofc mcs get more priority 🙄
Yeah it’s true that they got a happy ending but it was kind of unfulfilled in a sense. She can only see him two weeks in a while year and she doesn’t even have contact to him over the years that they can’t be together. It’s pretty sad 🤧 but I agree the second lead couple should have gotten more attention 😭 the way they ended was so unfair

I keeep on having goosebumps while watching this😭 it brings back all the feels. Their story is just so painful. Seo Dan simply want someone who would give her the love she deserve but when she found that in Gu Seungjun, he was taken away too soon. Gu Seungjun might be a conman but the fact that he wanted to change his life for her is one of the most heartbreaking thing. *This is the saddest story of second leads.*

I feel so bad for their ending, even cried a lot. But then, understood that script writers did a great job. Because, he never can be a free-man, he did illegal things, yeah he is a good man , but was thief too, he and she loved each other so much, their love was so pure and cute. He died in the end, however Seo Dan didn't forget him, he is in her heart. Moral of the stoy: They wanted show us females are morw strong than others expected, and lets admit she wanted to prove that: You can live happy without a man too. "BEING SINGLE IS THE TREND NOWADAYS". She is so determined and elegant 💘 adore her✨
I would watch this drama over and over again, and I would laugh and cry over and over again. Crash Landing On You gave a big impact on me that it breaks my heart knowing something like this exist.
I wish the writers would make a season two or alternative story in a sorta different alternate universe, like a sequel? Where they focus solely on Seo Dan and Seung jun’s pasts as well as a better future for the two of them together!! I liked their story as well as chemistry far more than the main couple’s and I wish Dan and Seung jun got the happily ever after type of ending the two of them deserved... I’d also like to see more of the five North Korean soldier’s lives outside of their job and more of their experiences down South. There was more back story to Man-bok because he supported the past of the main characters, but otherwise the five guys were treated like punching bags for comedy when I feel like the side characters were really the ones bringing the k-drama to life.
Honestly Seungjun is a nice person when you actually think about what he has gone through. Also I thought that he was gonna be like any other Kdrama villain who in the end still try to ruin the main actor but I was so happy he is not like that.
This is amazing. It hurts so much that they didn’t have a better ending. They deserved each other and so much more. I honestly shipped this more than JungHyuk and Seri.
Second season...plot twist KJH only fainted n crash landing ly meet again with seo Dan..they actually crashed more (as in bumped n met)into each other throughout the drama..
I just finished this drama and these two really helped me finish it because I was getting bored a bit with the main two lol but I also have a soft spot for second lead couples! They had amazing chemistry and imo the saddest love story! I’m so heartbroken that they killed Seungjoon, they both deserved better!! 😭😭😭

you know what.... the way they did the ending scenes actually gave me hope that somehow if they do another season he is still alive, because one he was being tracked, so his death in the ambulance might give to any spy or wriretraps the hint that he was gone, also another point there was no funeral, just memories, and her mother's line that sums their love and that he indeed loves Dan more than his own life to risk everything for her, we only see Dan suffering days after and hugging the jacket, and another point the way she tells the captain of Seungjun death, it's in an indirect way, the man is a soldier he deals with deaths and he wasn't close to the other so she could have said the truth, maybe she couldn't say it herself because it pained her so to admit her loss, or maybe there's something more (I am delulusional here, bear with me kkkkk) but we do know he couldn't stay anymore in North Korea, so just like the main characters found themselves abroad, can't we believe that SeungJun survived and Dan went to study again abroad and they meet halfway there? because we need closure with this, and his death and her resolution of being single to love the sole memories of the past just don't work right? so that's what I like to believe, I highly doubt there will be another season, would be good to make a fanfic out of this but it's not as good as watching a drama, so all we ever have is these theories, still not over this drama, loved the main couple, the side couple, the other characters, it was an amazing drama that pulled off pretty good, but SeungJun deserved better and Dan too, they were the underated ones, true love that found each other in sole moments in time and it was ever ephemeral.......
There is no proof that seungjun really died, even though in one scene of seri's second brother and his wife- it was said that seungjun was killed, I really have this high hopes that somehow he is still alive and there will be season 2.

Actually the development of the characters hints you about the ending. He couldn't be free because of family issues but seo dan come and liberates him . Still he has no right place in the world because his actions would haunt him and seo dan eventually. Seo dan was excepcionally good but she needed emotional approbation she thought ri was it , then alberto , but at the end she got her aprobation and set her free (someone loved her the way she was ) thats why she was happy at the ending. Of course are kdrama heart would love them happy ever after , but realistically this drama hits it.
