I think this is a remarkable song, written by Murray Attaway and performed by Guadalcanal Diary. And it's one of my wife's favorite songs by one of her favorite bands, featuring the aforementioned and Faulkner-esque Murray Attaway and the late and greatly missed Jeff Walls.

Murray comes into my shop about once a week, and never in a million years would I have thought he was the lead singer of 80s alt-rock band

Saw them play at Augusta College (GA) in 1987. My first concert ever at 13 years old.

Amen! Julian. The band, the whole catalog of albums … just great stuff. I got into these guys with the 2x4 album, had to backtrack and get what I missed. Funny, I was then as now a rabid metal fan, but these guys were fantastic. John also wrote “Pretty is as Pretty does” on the flip flop album. Dang good track!

John Poe: if only people knew just how unridiculous it is to say of a virtually unknown drummer just how great he was. Astounding pattern choices, phenomenal head tone, genius-level propulsion. All befitting a band whose team artistry---never better than this masterpiece album---should have made 2x4, with a better record company, a five song, radio-heavy legend.

Caught these guys in 89 in Seattle.. They were saying goodbyes to the fans.. I never understood what was going on.

Hello Cass, good to hear from you. We are ok for the moment. I've been packing to move to Indiana, hopefully next month. The move has been planned for a while, nothing to do with recent events. Los Angeles is a very strange place to be right now. Almost everything is closed. There are no dine-in restaurants; they have either closed up or only do take-out or deliveries. All non-essential shops are closed. Tonight the Governor basically said to stay home except for essential tasks. There are lines all day in front of the markets that are open. The hoarders are still keeping all of the supermarket shelves empty for some items. And the poop hasn't even hit the fan yet with the virus. So, I don't know what's going to happen, but I do think things will get worse before they get any better. Hey, that's a line from a song called "I Don't Worry Bout a Thing" by Mose Allison. Great song, if you don't know it, I'm sure it's on RU-vid. Thanks for reaching out. Take care! Bruce
