Good job. I must critique though, that in the original there is a significant buildup before we get to the main beat and melody. A good part of the original's intro is just sub harmonics and pure bass, which is missing from this rendition. I feel like it really subtracts from the eerie and otherworldly aura the song conveys. I do like the futuristic sound though. This honestly sounds like it could be a track from the game Stellaris.

I have to be honest, when making this track I completely forgot the fade-in at the intro (I was supposed to add it in last). Thanks for the comment :)

Right! I love the tone of the flute and the crystal-like modulation on the synth pad. It sounds as though you also layered them with muted strings in places? Good touch if so. I also like how you have the zither being more in the forefront, where it kinda gets buried in the mix in the original. As for the critique, for a wide perspective on things I gave this two listens, one casually, and one where I listened to everything carefully. On the first listen, I noticed you kept all your percussion more or less centred, where-as every pitch of drum being in a different place on the soundscape. Not sure what perc library you used here, but try panning the close mics harder. Second, I don't think the dynamics on the cymbals de-cresc enough. Conversely, I'd say the choir isn't loud enough - I could barely hear it. Now for what I noticed on the second listen; the track starts out at the same dynamic, where in the original, it's a gradual build. Honestly wouldn't say it's much of a big deal, but if the goal is to stick as closely to the original as possible, it's something to keep in mind. Next, around 1:53, it sounds like the flute notes jumped, like it was playing legato, but with a sus artic. The loop point also comes a bit too soon. In the original, there is another bar after the zither stops, ending on three quarter notes of the lowest drum and a solo ping of the cymbal. And ending on another positive note; I like how you pitched the lower pizz arpeggio up a bit. I felt like these being in the bass range in the original were kinda messy.

Flute is the beautiful alto from SSO, except the last which is the regular flute. I think the synth pad is just a couple of different pads playing different parts of the chord. I had no idea what instrument was used in the original :) iirc I used 2 tracks of a cimbalom pitched up and hard panned left and right. True about the percussion, I should have split it to multiple tracks to pan each hit accordingly. Its from Albion Tundra, I already tried to make it tighter by pitching it up and cutting some of the lows. About the dynamic and final few bars, I must have totally forgot about them. This track is pretty long and monotonous as it is, even for Nakano :)

@@SipiOvaska I do believe the synths in the original are using basic sweep and warm pads. SSO and Albions, huh? Seems like you went all in on the Air Lyndhurst sound. (Gonna guess the choir is EWC, then.) Don't blame you, it's a great sound. :D I wanted to get the Cimbalon as well, but ran out of budget when it was still available for Kontakt, and I don't like SF's own player, so I'm not getting the re-released Originals version. lol Oh, almost forgot another thing. Starting at bar 2 and ending where the zither does, there are also tabla drums. They're absent from your remake.
