Regarding "crystal" - it's actually not sapphire (specs are wrong on some or many sites - they are just copied from other watches), it's most likely some kind of mineral glass. I finally bought "diamond tester", and it didn't show as sapphire. Also, it is much thinner than usual sapphire window on watches.
Just having it physically near you, i mean you would want to wear it everyday & putting aside all other watches. I do have 4 Rolex . 1 Seiko & 1 Orient. All of them are very good watches. But it's been almost 6 months since I'm wearing this Guanqin & honestly it's an awesome watch.
A great review of a fine looking watch which again begs the question: why don't they simply and proudly put "China Made" on them. I have another Guanqin model and it is outstandingly well made by most standards. On this watch I love the way you can see more movement than just the balance wheel through the face opening and the finishing looks very pleasing. For me the key question is now: does it make you feel good when wearing it? This seems almost the final challenge for the Chinese: they make some watches that look good, keep good time and are reliable but is this a watch to be proud of? Is it of a standard where you would say to a mate, never mind your prejudices about Chinese watches - they are out of date: just look at it in detail and feel it - it's beautifully made...
Yes i agree, but "China made" would scare some of the customers away because of their prejudice. I now have quite a few watches that are made in China, and I must say i'm impressed with what we get for such low prices. I have showed this watch to someone, and their reaction was that it's a much more expensive watch (compared to the real price).
@@SimplyUnboxIt The same prejudice was true with "Made In Japan" 40 years ago, and "Made in Taiwan" 20 years ago. Today people are looking for stuff that has "Made in Japan" on it.
1 round = 2 minutes? That means the second dial is wrongly marked? Was thinking about getting this watch but that second hand may or may not be a deal breaker for me
Bought the watch and the quality control is poor. The indices for 3 and 9 o'clock are opposite. So I have the Roman numeral IX for the 3 o'clock and III for the 9 o'clock. Remember to inspect the watch carefully when you first receive it before removing the stickers and wear it. I'm currently in a dispute with Guanqin right now regarding product not as described. The movement for this watch is Shanghai 2L open heart series. It has a 24-hour power reserve so take that into consideration when you buy it. It's fine if you wear it daily. Otherwise you will need to wind it manually everyday to keep it ticking.
Indeed it's a great watch as i do have one of the same model as yours & I'm wearing since 6 months & it hasn't let me down at all. It is well made , very nice design & looks really good .
@@ms7131 Hi there, well, jokes apart concerning that Chinese, I'm myself stunned as it's working good. Many people have asked me about it & when they saw it on my wrist, they were shocked. Maybe it's a very good watch or it might be as such that I'm lucky with it.
IIRC Guanqin also has a model that has a smaller window which only shows the balance wheel without a decorated bridge. Starking, Cadisen and Guanqin are making some surprisingly good and affordable watches. I only wish they would dress down their dials more to not have any fake complications, and just focus on the quality that's actually there.
Lotta watch for the money. It's becoming clear to me that Guanqin, though not a name I particular like, is becoming one of the better Chinese watches that one would be proud to own. The stigma of Made in China is gradually being removed with capable products like this. And, they're affordable, well affordable....
I bought the gold and silver version, it looks and feels great. The only thing i don't like is the seconds marking. Do you which movement this watch uses or if this watch is a homage to another watch or original design?
What do the numbers on the back mean? I have a complete different watch with a complete different movement and it comes with the same numbers: 2800-s047935 cst 7D0283
Are you sure it's 43 mm in diameter? because I looked through this model on Aliexpress, it claims it's 40 mm. No issue here, but just for fact? And at the current sale it can be found as low as 35$

Literal Minute Repeaters, limited edition Spacewalk watches, biaxial tourbillons with the highest tier of finishing etc. Watches that cost >$100k from Actual Chinese Watch Companies like Tianjin Seagull, Fiyta BWAF/Beijing Watches.
A great review and a very good video! Just a minor complaint. I know you did your best, but the video could have been even better if not for the camera focussing issues, and the glare on the watch dial.
@@SimplyUnboxIt Thank you for the reply, the problem is dat the little dial is not at the same hour as the big one, for example now the little one says 2am and the big one 10 pm. Maybe there was another method to change it,
What's the point of this dial? If it can be adjusted separately, it can be used to track time in a different time zone. Other than that, I can't think of any uses.
It is not a moonphase. It is a "sun and moon" A moonphase turns on a 28 day rate with the actual cycle of the moon. A sun and moon turns on a 24 hour cycle.
I don't give a shit about Chinese watches, Indian watches as long as the quality is good. That how all watch enthusiasts should act like or be like. Of course apart from MVMT, DW and Hublot.
