This Elder Dragon's name is Guanzorumu, the Emperor Conqueror Dragon." "Given its nickname because of its appearance resembling a king, Guanzorumu is an Elder Dragon that reigns supreme over all the Egyurasu in the Cloud Viewing Fortress. Seemingly, this monster is the reason why the fortress is in ruins today." "The Egyurasu follow Guanzorumu's orders out of fear. The Elder Dragon forces them to do its bidding, giving them various commands as it fights alongside them. The Egyurasu will work together with Guanzorumu to eliminate all intruders that enter its domain." "Compared to other Elder Dragons, Guanzorumu has high-pitched roars. It uses these roars to give the Egyurasu various commands, such as to breathe fire and to toss intruders off the fortress. Guanzorumu's roars are considered to be louder than even Laviente's." "Its roars can damage and push back objects with immense force, and Super HG Earplugs are worthless against it. Not only are its roars the strongest in Frontier, but its wind pressure and tremors are also as well, all three are comparable to a Zenith Species' abilities." "Guanzorumu has large wing membranes that spread down to its tail. These giant wings allow Guanzorumu to fly efficiently in the air and can send gusts of wind at nearby enemies. Just looking at its claws makes a creature want to bow down to Guanzorumu out of fear." "The fins on its tail can cut through just about anything in a single slice, and, much like Alatreon, Guanzorumu has scales on its body that protect it from most attacks. Under them is thermal insulating skin, which absorbs most of the blows." "When it first encounters a threat, Guanzorumu will mainly use the Egyurasu to defend itself. As the battle continues, Guanzorumu will become angrier and angrier, becoming more physical and aggressive as the fight goes on." "At first, it'll use the fire element against enemies, but once it is enraged, it'll switch to the dragon element, showing off its true power. Once angered, the Egyurasu will retreat since they know Guanzorumu becomes a threat to everything around it once it decides to go all out." "When Guanzorumu becomes greatly enraged, the weather will change from its immense power." "While using the dragon element, Guanzorumu strictly depends on its own overwhelming power to end a threat. All hunters that have gone after it have never returned, so little is known about Guanzorumu. It's easily one of the strongest Elder Dragons around." "The concept behind this Elder Dragon was royalty, hence its appearance, title, etc. This monster was made to go with the Switch Axe F, and it was somewhat based on the weapon with its two different forms/modes." Since Monster Hunter Frontier Forward started with an Elder Dragon, Rukodiora, the Frontier Team decided they wanted to start Monster Hunter Frontier Z with a classic Elder Dragon, but it was made into G10's Flagship instead." now THIS is a fella i would love to fight in newer games. The theme already makes it one of my favorite Frontier monsters, basing him off royalty and having minions that fight for him is awesome. Hopefully they dont let these monsters sit in Frontier forever

Guanzorumu is probably my all-time favourite elder dragon, he has an absolute gorgeous design, an amazing theme, interesting ecology, and a whole lotta personality in the way he moves and attacks, he's an amazing dragon through and through, and I hope one day he comes to the main series so I can finally flight him. Edit: Aparently the chinese god of war's name is Guan Yu, perhaps a possible inspiration for bestdragon?

This, this dude was my favorite fight of all frontier hands down. It’s so simple yet creative. Simple enough in fact he has a chance to be in future monster hunter games. Few monsters earn my respect in frontier.. but this guy? Definitely one of them.

One of my favorite elder dragons in fronteir who deserves to be in the mainline series like seriously this guy puts teostra to shame as a prideful king. Not to mention he's one of the few elders that actually produce dragon element so their weapons would probably downright knock other elder dragon weapons with the element values on weapons

The Phase 1 theme at 1:08 really feels like an uprising or revolt against a Monarchy. Gives me the goosebumps

tbh, guanzorumu could probably fit into base game along with his army of wyverns, just make the cloud viewing fortress a map, maybe change his name to be a little less confusing, and just update him to 5th gen graphics and youre good to go

Guanzorumu sounds like it should be God of the sands. It’s pretty amazing!

I would be happy if a new monster ends up with phase 1's theme!

The fight itself is an interesting ecological situation - Egyurasu are quite timid, and probably obey Guanzorumu's commands out of fear. But once he powers up by killing and eating one of its subjects, the others all abandon their emperor - either they're backing off to avoid being killed by his now ludicrous power or collectively decided that enough was enough and left their master to its fate, for good or for ill.

Not going to lie, of all the monsters from Frontier, I would be fine if this showed up in Sunbreak

NOT A BLACK DRAGON SOMEHOW DISPITE 1. Capable of doing things not even the furthest stretches of MH logic could explain. 2. Conquered an entire empire from the previous civilisation. 3. Has near unmatched power over the elments it uses. (Even combines them) 4. It is unfathomably old. 5. Nature itself fears its territory. I REAPEAT SOMEHOW NOT AN BLACK DRAGON :/ Is there another requirement or something i just don't understand? :(

This theme just screams ego monarch with their view of being better than you I have to agree(please help me he is breathing down my neck)

Frontier is more than a decade old game and yet it still has better splash arts compared to Rise.
