Hello and thank you again for these great videos. With respect to last question, I do not understand why the Ch Long (mins) for F to G (55N) and E to H (50N) are both is the same (523'), but are not the same distance (300NM)? Hope I'm explaining myself well enough. Update: I think I figured it out by reviewing your presentation. The 523' refers to the angular change in degrees which remains constant between meridians, while distance does not.

One doubt here sir, for finding change in latitude, you divided 300 upon 60, but wht does the 60 signify and what does it have to do with the great circle

@blueskiesandtailwinds6004 Could I ask: What if you are planning a trip but not a great circle route, e.g. let's say way above the equator and would be a small circle? Using Google earth, let's say from Helsinki (Finland) to Oslo (Norway). As I assume that cannot be a great circle track and would be a small circle line, correct? BUT the latitude and longitudes would anyhow be different. What would be the formula or how to calculate that distance please?

Hie, I have a doubt regarding the last some of the this video. Why did you write 300 = ChLat x 60° to calculate ChLat? I didn't understand why you took 60° there to calculate ChLat.
@blueskiesandtailwinds6004
@blueskiesandtailwinds6004 2 года назад
Hey, refer to the first part of the video. We are finding the chlat in this using the gc distance. And the formula to find gc distance is nothing but to multiply the chlat by 60. It is not actually 60 degrees, it is used to convert angular distance to nms. Hope its clear now.
