12:39 Rocket doesn’t have a dad. He was an unknown creature recovered by alien scientists and brought to a planet of abandoned mentally ill inmates where he was genetically and cybernetically reconstructed so that he was given sentient levels of intelligence to be an “animal companion” (pet) caretaker for the inmates. _"Well, I didn't ask to get made! I didn't ask to be torn apart and put back together over and over and turned into some... some little monster!"_ ―Rocket in the first Guardians of the Galaxy
When Drax said "Mantis look out" I laughed so hard they kicked me out the theater so I had to come back again a week later to finish the movie hoping the staff forgot about me.
Damn that's kinda shitty.. Dick move to kick somebody out of a comedy for laughing... But maybe I just feel that way because also I laugh pretty damn loud sometimes. Who knows? 😁
Great reaction as usual, guys! One small thing, since it was the subject of some debate during the discussion portion: In the opening scene of the film, when they're out in the forest, Meredith *does* in fact say to Ego, "I can't believe I fell in love with a Spaceman."
Ok now a bigger thing, since I've watched further. For buddy on the left: What happened to Nebula was, in no way, shape, or form, Gamora's fault. They were both victims of abuse, trying to survive an unfathomably brutal home environment. Let me put it this way: if everytime Nebula lost, Thanos instead raped her, would you suggest Gamora doesn't love her sister unless she's willing to take one for the team?
Here's a mind trip. In the scene that shows Ego making out with all the different aliens. One looks like Mantis. So, more than likely Peter & Mantis are siblings.
So just because Mantis and some random alien are the same species, it means the two of them are related? That's like saying that because Ego mated with Peter's mom, Quill and Tony are most likely brothers.
I never see anyone give the decision to cast dave bautista as Drax the credit it does cause he's actually perfect for that role one of the MCU's funniest characters easily everything diss he dishes out isn't even a diss too him he's just being real to himself and he easily has the best laugh plus enhances any violation like when Mantis baited out Peter's feelings🤣 Unpopular opinion the first one is better but only cause the story line connects with the MCU my only real gripes with this movie is it has little to no baring on the MCU story so when it comes to watching movies on the lead up to Endgame it's like the only movie that you can skip and it doesn't really make a difference except at the most the intro to Mantis. Also the whole Peter's dad story for me is kinda pointless when you deep it has a baring in the first movie cause of the infinity stone but they basically made him half celestial just for it to be a none factor now. Overall it's a nice fun family friendly movie in isolation but that's all it is, even Ant-Man at least connects to the MCU storyline as well as being a like family comedy
