This is a rare sight … you don’t see them with the cape on ..normally they wear the big heavy military issue over coat and belt … I’m not sure if I like the looks of the cape .. but hey as long as it keep the chill off and keeps them dry that’s the main thing I guess

Greatcoats are worn in the winter and capes when it’s raining.

when the uniforms get wet they weight a ton...it is not good for their health...and ruins the uniforms as well.

I realise adding new content daily is not easy so simplifying the process has it's advantages, but at the moment your videos are aesthetically pleasing but a little boring. You need to start a running commentary explaining the why's and what's of what we are watching. I hope I haven't offended you, it is simply constructive criticism.

They are wearing capes because of the rain. The capes protect the rifles

The protective capes are a good idea; keeps the rain/chill off and they're probably not as nearly heavy as the long coats used for colder weather. Best wishes from the Midwest!

The capes are comparatively cheap compared to the staggering cost of their dress uniforms. 35 years ago I was told the cost of a Guard uniform was over £2000 so I shudder to think of the cost today. Once wet these uniforms have to be dried and ready for parade ASAP.
