Love all the historical, folk and pop references - from high fashion to low, the touches of colour; a tapestry of oddness, a celebration of creepy, it has something of Paranjanovs movies about it. Seems like anything goes, and the renaissance velvet dress is breathtaking.
I love the anxiety and anticipation AM created just by bringing the audience into the OR...a simple set of OR lights, a green drape on a gurney, blood red contained by the edges of a square on the floor...and then he reveals his creations, the birth of his ideas. ...we sigh relief and yet still maintain the excitement as the models walk by.
I know why you guys don't like it. Its because you all discovered gucci in the song "gucci gang" so you searched it on google. And then you found a couple of gucci collections (without having any idea what fashion is) and then you watched them on yt. Im sure this explains all.
Because on margiela's or comment des garcons' collections (where clothing is even crazier and makes no sense) are only comments like: "Wow! I have no words!" or "What a beautiful collection!"
The presentation is meant to be "performance and fashion art." Whether it's truly art is debatable, but that's the intent. You're supposed to deconstruct the individual presentations and consider the various pieces for their individual merit. Some are conceptual "fashion," but a lot are actual designs that people will buy at expensive stores. It would be just another boring show if a bunch of pretty skinny girls and tall hot guys walked down a runway wearing these designs as though they were intended for the masses. Gucci fashions and the prices they command appeal to an extremely small clientele. For the rest of us, it's an interesting show with humor, eccentricity and wonderful surrealism. There are references to certain periods in history and much of it is a commentary on the shallowness that "fashion" and "fashion weeks" have become in many cities throughout the world. The intent of this parade is to shock you, and to challenge you to look at the ways that people clothe themselves through a more imaginative and daring lens. Try not to get upset by the fun the rest of us are having.
Seems like all other Gucci FW 2018 videos have changed the soundtrack. I assume you did not add this yourself @bayoucool2 I'm trying to find out who the first song is by? Anyone know Italian??
So you ask me a question - and end that same question calling me a name. I'm assuming your parents taught you better manners? Or maybe not? . Just an fyi - which I will assume will fall on deaf ears - but satan works through a plethora of tricks and deceptions. The "modeling" industry being only one. He is very good at "conditioning" our minds - to go down that slippery slope that runs between right and wrong. That's how your govt. operates, as well - it's called "propaganda" - they (and satan) uses it to steer your mind towards believing something - or doing something - that ordinarily you wouldn't. But with a lit'l "propaganda" in front of you, people are more apt to follow what they are told to follow - believe - think - do - say - feel. I.e. the people that allow themselves to be deceived are like blinded sheep being led to slaughter. . If you want to know more - then get yourself a King James 1611 Authorized - and start reading. In that book you will find your answers. . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aRQIa2HYHPw.html&lc=z22mczbaaxabf32gy04t1aokgabbhqvbsnd0inl40bqvrk0h00410.1519358204227194 . .
it's overly creative for most tastes ... I really enjoyed the clothes and the dialogue of his design. good thoughts behind his fairy take like fashion story board.
I liked spme parts spme not and some were bad really bad. But i woud wear a lot of things from this season but not the way our lovely stylist made th look.
People totally miss the Frida Giannini's era, when she could show what HIGH COUTURE real means with GLAMOUR, PRESTIGE and LUXURY. Not like this new one that always taking "inspiration" from FREAK SHOWS just to screw up all the house of Gucci.
you might think, this is not fashion, it is ridiculous!! but may be that you havent taken the whole message, its not the Outfit, it is about the fabric, the colors, inspiration.
People obviously don't know how "followings" are created. A designer who collection after collection is a slow progression rather than just do something totally different each season is building a following. That's how it's done right. I love the designers I love because they DON'T do radically different collections. They do what I like and each season it's a slow progression. THAT'S A GREAT DESIGNER AND NOT A TRENDY B.S. DESIGNER.
He is a trendy B.S. Designer because none of what you see are his own original designs. Just go to any university and see what art students are wearing lol.
First of all, no, you won't find crystal embroidered hats and dresses at thrift shops. Now let's get into what I wanted to say. Nobody understands art, true art. Its one thousandth time I repeat, what you see on the runway is not meant to be worn in real life, except cruise shows. What you see here is a form of art, but expressed through clothing. How Picasso painted modernist, abstract paintings, trying to revolutionize painting, Alessandro tries to be different than other designers, too. It seems like you are used to these high-end street wear brands like LV and Vetements. Fashion industry is changing, like I've said on many other comments, we cannot be stuck in only one era. In my opinion, as long as you did not study fashion designing, and you're a close minded 12 year old who thinks that fashion consists of a white blouse and a grey cardigan, I don't think you should dare to express your opinion on a fashion show like this. Sadly, Gucci is understood by too few people.
The first couple of times I found it interesting, now I'm like 'ok where are we going ? It has no direction ,no vision and no real design .It's just shit thrown on a body and whatever sticks stays
there's no cohesiveness to these collections. but they use the excuse that its "seasonless". the ironically tacky clothes shtick is so old and tired. it was cool when hedi did it for the first few collections at YSL, but now alessandro is just beating a dead horse. he has no real vision, he just Bedazzels™ old thrift store finds. but he doesn't have to have a vision or even be talented, they $ell this $hit by the boatloads. but i must say the campaigns are usually very well done.
Just remember that, the fact that it’s not flattering is putting y’all off- but at the end of the day gucci remains to have one of the most daring and creative designs, whether you like them or not. In fact, maximalism is the whole point. See those loafers? They're lined with kangaroo fur. The bird on this sweater is flying through lightning bolts and gold stars and tiny bunnies. And why would you wear it with khaki pants when you could go plaid? More is more is more is more.
What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what What, what, what, what I'm gonna pop some tags Only got twenty dollars in my pocket I, I, I'm hunting, looking for a come-up This is fucking awesome
Gucci needs to stop with the cultural appropriation. Sikh turbans are a religious article of faith, NOT a fashion accessory. And having them all worn by white models? C'mon y'all.
If it's "just a piece of fabric" and it "means literally nothing" then why was a Sikh man assaulted and had his turban ripped off his head the same day of the Gucci show? When white models are "edgy" and "fashionable" for wearing a turban, while Sikhs are persecuted and assaulted, it's not a fleeting concern.
Guiomar Teles IG you haven’t seen the other shows from the past two years, you’ve got to go look them up. This one is especially good, but their new creative director has been churning out gold for 8 or 9 shows now. So exciting to see someone else who appreciates it 😊
@@ExtrovertedCenobite the "designer" could go back to his FREAK SHOW hell hole, and the people that seems to like his collection....well, should seriously consider AN EXORCISM some form of therapy, I would say and recommend instead!
I guess this is meant for some rich person in a hospital. It did have a creepy factor too with the religious music and the strange apparent symbolism of very revolting things. But it really just seems to be a hodgepodge without much real thought involved. But I guess in a way it had a touch of realism because you could imagine people walking around in a hospital dressed really oddly if they aren’t feeling well and in that kind of mood. Oh brother. You know, most of the separate pieces of each outfit are really nice. It’s kind of annoying to see them all jumbled together in a slopout mess.
creative yes, bold yes, wearability absolutely not. it looks like something that homeless people would wear as if wherever they're wondering around the streets and they dig into garbage bin, and find whatever thrown away items of clothing that they can find, and put on their body as they go along. bring back tom ford or frida giannini
Obviously, this is a disaster, a mess seen from a "realistic and fashionista" point of view. But of course that is not the true intention of Alessandro Michele with his collections for Gucci. He wants to incite disgust and repulsion in the audience, create convulsions, endless polemics, mental vomits and a certain collective hysteria demanding his departure. But all this shit has an explanation, wonderfully planned and displayed intelligently. Alessandro is a true artist, and if you just forgot for a moment the melancholic stupidities about the past time about Tom Ford or Frida Giannini, and look that his strategy is to surprise and put a surrealist impression of fashion. But pitifully this artistic value (because fashion is a true ART), is not seen by anyone in these modern times. Then, talking in realistic and vain terms, let's talk about clothes. Each piece, each accessory is a work of exquisite beauty. If you look carefully and separately each item in this collection, you will realize what I am talking about. Tom and Frida did well, but they are gone, and it's time we all accept once and for all. He is the one who is now, and the tantrums and whining of a few assholes will not make him leave. Grupo Kering will be the only one to determine if he should go to hell or should continue to head Gucci, just for one reason, much more important than fans or art: Sales and Money... :)
H'ector Tobón I agree. Hardly anyone realises that Gucci probably doesn’t care if you wear the looks, in fact separately they aren’t bad at all. Everyone’s just put off but the layering and mismatch. I love the fact that it’s repulsive and out of the ordinary, if he made boring clothes that everyone’s seen how will fashion ever move forward?
For me, Gucci is just about shock values nowadays; nothing creative and new. Who doesn't know how to shock. For "commoner" like me who indulges in Designer's occasionally its because the stuff is well made, looks expensive and has the "x" factor that makes it pops. I honestly avoid Gucci nowadays because there is nothing creative at all. To those who think current designer is a genius. remember to support him and purchase the stuff seen on the runway - make sure you look as "ugly" as the models - then you achieve it; spending a fortune and still none the nicer or presentable.
I have an idea? A spark of imagination? Let’s jam all the models together in one big clump so you can’t see anything. And to top it off let’s put ugly hats on their heads so you won’t pay attention to none of the fashion.
That shit is just scary and disturbing... That music generates such a creepy mood. That's not fashion for me. I can not imagine that the people who watched the show felt good and comfy. Have no words to explain this... Sorry
what the fuck is fashion to you? you should feel good and happy about it to call it fashion? fashion is a form of art, it's shouldn't necessarily be pleasant or cute and beautiful and make you happy, fashion is not just forever21 and zara, as you know it
For me it is not fashion when it creates a scary mood for me personally. And thanks for judging me... I have the right to have my own opinion and I have the right to say that this kind of "art" makes me feel uncomfortable and that I don't like it... without judging people. everyone has a own perception of art and that is the most important thing. Without different opinions art would not exist. And that is what I love about hating and judging people for their opinion... I don't have to like it just because it's Gucci and every other so called "fashion expert" loves it. Question: Would you call it fashion if H&M would have done a presentation like that? I don't think so.
I will copy my answer for you again: For me it is not fashion when it creates a scary mood for me personally. And thanks for judging me...
