In this video, we take you to an unexplored and less crowded fort near Bangalore. Located only 100 kms from Bangalore, 24 km from Lepakshi, and 33 km from Chikballapur, Gudibande Fort was built by a yogi and local chieftain called Byre Gowda some 400 odd years ago in the 17th century.
The climb to the top of the fort is some 1000 stairs and ideally would take somewhere around 45 minutes or more depending on your physical fitness and trekking capabilities. There is no entry fee and the fort is open from 6 am to 6pm.
Best time to Visit: During sunrise or sunset. Avoid monsoon season as the rocky stairs may get slippery.
Tips: Carry cap, umbrella, water bottle and light snacks as there are no shops in the vicinity of the fort. Only a coconut water and fruit stall is available below from where the climb starts.
