I bought all of this collection and am very happy with it! In the pan it can be intimidating, same for the Pucci collection, but once I start to apply and blend, both collections are just beautiful. For the first time in a long time, I will be passing on the CHANEL holiday collection because I just do not need more oversized and unique eyeshadow shades. This is the second year in a row that Gurelian holiday won my vote for best release.
I actually love and adore the look you did with this collection. I ordered the palette the lipstick case and both lipstick shades because I think this is stunning and the packaging ain’t bad either 😂 I also ordered a marble case to have something different. I can’t wait to try this on the face as well. I know this is a polarizing collection and not for everyone but I think it will look good on so many people and deeper skin tones as well ❤❤❤❤
This looks really beautiful on you, and almost sells me on it. These cases really should be refillable. It’d be nice if the entire line was refillable, meteorites included.
A tip for those who are curious: I found Chanel’s Byzance eye quad Parure Impérial (308) is a lighter version of this palette to experiment with to see if these colors might look good on you.
Thank you very much for your honest and unbiased review. I'm a big fan of Hermes cosmetics, but the quality of these pencils is terrible. They are very hard, scratch the skin on the eyelid and do not blend at all. This is the worst quality eyeliner pencil I have ever come across. I wonder if Hermes tested their quality when they launched them into mass production? I bought several of these pencils in different shades, but they all go back to the store. Big disappointment! Guerlain eyeshadow palette is out of my comfort zone. Although the lipstick case is gorgeous!😍
Thank you for the Guerlain review. Most of us want to love the shades because we adore the packaging. And we try to make the other shades work. Remember, you pay 105 for a 6 months of shelf life too. You can make EVERY palette work! Will you be reviewing the Prada Holiday?
I will have to try one Hermes pencil! I love your holiday look. I agree, the new Meteorites scent is beautiful (reminds me of Guerlain Samsara dry down) but I really LOVE the original violet scent. So sad it's gone!
This shadow used as blush looks really flattering on your complexion!!! IMHO it’s best when used in the company of minimalistic eye shadow look and no or almost no bronzer but good black mascara .

For me, you have the best makeup skills of anyone I watch. I know you aren't a fan of the shadows but I promise you, it looks fabulous on you!! But you have mad makeup skills. I love watching you apply eyeshadow. If I was going to get anything for the packaging (which I probably won't) it would be the meteorites. I don't like the artwork on either the eye palette or the lipstick case - I would like just the crystals.
The shadows look fantastic on you, but now I’m not sure if I can manage with all that red - I already ordered it before your review 😅… and yes, bc of the packaging - hopefully I can use it as blushes at least or accent shadows - I feel kind like they punked us giving the worse shadows with the best and fanciest packaging - so so so much pink everywhere I look with these brands - leftover pink from Barbie, 2 years ago, is my theory - but I’ve seen commenters say this is good for deeper skin tones, so I’m glad for some, at least - I think guerlain does well with giving pigment
I don't have an issue wearing varying shades of eye-shadows, but the shades Guerlain have chosen for this palette is out of my comfort zone. I doubt that there would be many who would even like these colours to begin with. As for the eye-liner pencils, I've been loving the kajal liners from Shiseido for their softness and staying power. I decided, on a whim, to try some liners from the Sephora Collection that come in pencil and retractable forms. I wore a stunning jewel-like aqua today underneath my lower lash-line that glided on with ease and never moved at all today and it wasn't removed until after 0100hrs. The price is most agreeable and the range of stunning shades are definitely worth trying them out. Both of these brands come in well under the mentioned cost of the ones in the video, which I think are of a very good quality. Once I track down the Prada Eye Palette from somewhere and purchase the Givenchy Eye Palette and lipsticks, I'm done as far as Christmas releases are concerned.🇦🇺💖👩🏼🎨
The eyeshadow palette appears to be meant for someone with a much darker skin tone. It’s just too pigmented for those of us with fair light skin. I think even a medium skin tone would have a hard time using those shades as eyeshadows. Even used as blush, you have to be extremely careful. Love the packaging but it’s a hard pass for me. Passing on the liners too.
The difference between classic 02 Meteorites and the Holiday one is that Guerlain removed green pearls from the original and put more golden and pearly shades. I'm a collector for Meteorites and I bought Holiday edition. I'm still salty and boycotting new Rouge G cases. I decided not to invest my money in new cases because I have so many old ones. New lipsticks don't fit perfectly to the old cases but it's still possible to use them together. If the shade is unique I pick up new lipstick as I did from Pucci collection. In my opinion a few last Guerlain eyeshadow colour stories are misses for me. I'm disappointed that they stop producing baked gelee eyeshadows. Those were stunning and had high quality. The packaging is incredible, beautiful and luxurious but et the end of the day it's makeup. I buy it to use, not to sit on my drawer to look at. I'm sorry that I'm complaining but I'm a loyal client who have supported Guerlain since 2010.
How much different the holiday meteorites in the skin vs classic 02? I’m afraid of them being more shiny. This is the only item in Guerlain holiday collection I had my eyes on.
@@ireneshelley Sofia Sees Beauty shows the difference in her face, watch her channel. In my opinion Holiday Meteorites give more luminosity to the skin but they're not glittery. It's the only item from the collection which I picked up and I'm happy 😊
I think this look is beautiful with your red hair, not too much at all IMO. I love the Meteorites, and have a couple of them, as well as a couple of the Givenchy setting powders . I love the scents in them, just like I love the scent of Chanel blushes. Love the pencils, but 50.00 each is too much.❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Jen, I watched your video for Hermes eye pencils review. You have an interesting opinion because other content creator said that they are very bad quality (waxy formula, not good pigmentation, smudging a lot and never set completely) and returned them. Also many people shared the same opinion in comments. I will go in store to see and try them. Guerlain Holiday collection and limited edition eyeshadows overall are not wearable for me but they always have nice packaging. Thanks for sharing!🙂
@@Allfeisty I saw the Hermes eye pencils today and I tried them. My thoughts with the mention that my eyelids are not oily: Pros: gorgeous colours Cons: everything Lexi Jong and people said is true: they are hard/stiff (scratching the skin) not enough pigment, don’t set completely and smudge big time. On short: they are catastrophic for luxury eye pencils. Hermes will sell sharpeners separately and they will be available soon. I didn’t left the counter without buying anything and I got one more blush -37 Rose Poivre and the eyelash curler. 😁 On the other hand the eye pencils from Tom Ford are very good. I got the black one and very soon I will get the brown as well. I hope they will come out with more colours. I saw the limited edition quad (Holiday collection) and I didn’t like it.
So interetsing and thanks for the update! I agree abotut the dryness but mine are pigmented and dont smudge.... I wonder if its an age thing or maybe because its so cold where I am? I'll keep trying them as always and provide updates
Jennifer, on your eyes, everything looks beautiful. You lucky, it’s a pass for me. I have hooded eyes, it’s nothing wrong with hooded eyes. I always loved it. No problems. I don’t know why so many young women cry about that, it’s beautiful… the most beautiful women in the world, have hooded eyes😜 but as you age oh boy, they get even more hooded😂 definitely looking to get laser surgery😳🤪 but these colors, are beautiful on darker complexions. I saw Chanel review, it doesn’t look dramatic at all. Now eyeliners, if they like VB soft, I don’t like it. It smudges all over, especially on small hooded eyes🤪 but the only thing that I am tempted, if it’s very interesting color, in warm tone, to bring out brighten blue eyes, but I would use only in waterline. That brown you used looks warm,but maybe makes eyes smaller 🤔 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
I think it's a real shame that these limited eyeshadow compacts are not refillable. To me that's so.... illogical and dishonest to the supposed uniqueness and the craft shown. Why would you want an item like this to become obsolete and useless once the eyeshadow is gone?
Really ? I saw Lexi Jongs video with the Hermes liners and they completely smudged off of her and she was so upset because she wanted to love them and bought several colors she said they are waxy and she showed them smudge right off even after they sat there for awhile. Idk why its different for you. I sent the 2 I ordered back without e en opening after i saw hiw they wore and looked on her.
I had a problem with my Guerlain order too. They did not send the lipstick case which was the “anchor” of my order. They sent the lipstick that would go in it. They didn’t charge me for it but WTH? It appears to be sold out on line now.
I can’t get over the lipstick cases. I’m still salty and can’t understand why in the heck they changed the cases. That’s so wrong to me. I maybe the only one too who isn’t insane over the packaging. I don’t know. The colors the only one I like is copper. It’s too pricey for me to only feel meh 🫤. But it’s pretty. Your skin is lighter. Is it me ? Or ? Is it ?
Why not charge 50 for the liner when the Mascara (empty in 3! Months!) is 75? There are customers willing to pay for. I love the eyeliners from Sisley and those are pricey too.... But I use them up and they are amongst my favorites. Despite the price.
