Beyblades in their FIRST design were a 90's thing! The redesign is 2000's ,BUT...Because I had the original as a kid,I can say 100% that they existed in the 90's
They finally didn't have a trailer/sneak-peak of the video at the start. That's a *win.* Believe it or not we want to be surprised by their reactions and see them in context the first time.
Rubik's Cube may have been invented in the 70s but it didn't get it's name and they didn't sell them internationally until 1980. Also, that's not a space hopper, that's a hippity-hop!
Emma is quite young & just a different vibe, from past recent videos she’s grown a lot but maybe don’t pair with Jair…. Cause we all know Jair full of energy & would work well with other reactors like that 😅
I honestly was trying to keep my cool with Jair in the vid. Thinking the 1960’s videos looked like the 1990’s as if the 90’s were sooooo long ago. She’s not that young anymore to be THAT naïve, at this point it just comes off as dumb. And we know she’s not dumb so…🤷🏻♀️👎🏻
“that girl” though? lol that’s Emma who’s been there since she was little, Jair is a newbie by comparison! Her first thumbnail appearance (and feature!) was the “crazy cat lady” reaction over 12 years ago, let alone her first video! Lol
What an awesome episode! Finally my area (Rochester, NY) is recognized for something good. Not to mention, when I heard Heely's, my first thought was Eric Beckerman. Anyone else?
nerf footballs were advertised as being safer, but 10 year old me realized they're just football shaped foam sponges and soaked them full of water then froze them. the bully kids in my neighborhood can attest that they are not in fact safer. some would argue they are potentially MORE lethal than a normal football.
i just think she didn't have any chemistry with Morgan. maybe they're just very different. some reactors shine better with people they are closer to or have more chemistry with
The problem with the video is that they're either showing the wrong era commercial OR providing an updated version of the toy, yet still expect the original release date
I trained my Pet Rock to predict the weather. I set it outside and if it looked glimmery, I knew that it was sunny. If it looked white, I knew that it was snowing, and if looked wet, I knew that it was raining.
All this was in the days of playgrounds with gravel beds, blistering hot metal slides and riding in the cargo area of station wagons. No seat belts ... hell, no seats! Every hard turn was an adventure! Lol
station wagons and pick up trucks lol. We did have a big truck topper with built in bed that could expand from a third of the truck bed to the whole thing. Kids and some stuff on top, luggage and dog kennel underneath lol.
@@timisme8360 I think my dad had put carpet in. Can only fit so many kids and their friends in a one bedroom cabin, even with 3 pull out couches lol. If it was my sister and I in the truck the boys always snuck out and shook the truck making bear noises lol.
The best part of station wagons or pickup beds? The DRIVE-IN! 5 kids sprawling out, blankets, pillows, snacks. Parents in the folding lawn chairs. The drive-in playground before it got dark! Sadly, drive-ins have gone the way of the dinosaurs.
I remember my daughter begging everyone for the big hatchimals, the ones that hatch from the egg by themselves. She loved them for about a week, they’re collecting dust now.
We used to hold the space balls (hippity hops) against our chests and, you got it, run at each other. Whoever flew the farthest, lost. Extra points lost if there were tears. I realize how dumb it was NOW but kids don't think of consequences.
Ahh yes the space hopper!! Wish it was still popular today... Fun fact: the term "space hopper" is mostly used in the UK. And in the US, they are normally called hopper balls, hoppity hops, hippity hop, or hop balls. So many different names lol
The Rubiks Cube might have come out in the ‘70’s but I don’t remember it getting popular until the ‘80’s. I “solved” it by taking it apart and putting it back together again.
The ones that said 80s for Rubik’s cube should’ve still gotten the points because wasn’t nobody playing with that thing until the 80s. It didn’t become popular until the 80s. And Speak & Spell came out and was popular in the late 70s. It came out in 1978. We were begging for that thing for Christmas. Speak & Read and Speak & Math came out later.
Yeah, I was thinking late 70s early 80s on that one myself. My mom was a teacher, we had the Speak & Spell and the Speak & Math. Hadn't heard the thing in forever, but man that brought back memories. 😄
the speak and spell came out in 1978 so its not a 80s toy..... "The first Speak & Spell was introduced at the summer Consumer Electronics Show in June 1978 (45 years ago),[5] making it one of the earliest handheld[2] electronic[5] devices with a visual display[6] to use interchangeable game cartridges.[7]"
Zhu Zhu Pets technically are both 2000s toys and 2010s toys, since they were released in 2009 and lasting on till 2013. 2017 Zhu Zhu Pets are completely different to 2009 in many ways. I've heard that they might be coming back soon again.
They also put on screen that the Speak and Spell came out in the 70s but went through several changes so consider it an 80s toy. They should look up video of a 1978 model. Almost exactly the same as the ones from the 80s!
And plus that hand held moon bounce ball was in the 1985 movie ft Christina Applegate and the clown dog guy in the toy store scene bouncing thru the store on this ball but it was a solid dark blue and red balls
Would've given you guys bonus points had you pulled out the original bop it extreme. Bop it and Simon did so much for my little 8 year old self-esteem.
That's maybe a version in Toy Story of the Speak n Spell but I don't think it's in Look Who's Talking. It is famously a part of the machine E.T. builds to "phone home", and it's what taught me to read back in the 80's. You can still play its simple games today in a browser based emulator, if it's still up. Honestly that's what they ought to give the iPad kids who can't read, bring up the Speak n Spell site on those iPads.
I remember going to toys r us as a kid and picking up a ferbee and my mom asked me if it needed batteries and I said “no! It says batteries are not included” XD I was very disappointed that it needed batteries.. but being 6 years old I assumed when it said “not included” meant you didn’t need batteries.. I was very sad
As A Gen Zer I Definitely Had An Etch A Sketch, But I Never Knew What It Was Called!, Kinda Crazy How I Used To Play With These Toys That Came Out WAY Before My Time! Definitely Brought Back Some Memories! 😁😁😁😁😁
They didn't have the original to most of these. Like, it's very unlikely for a nerd ball to last 50+ years. Also, getting original versions of toys is insanely expensive and time consuming for a small video like this.
@@JohnnyPaisan they aren't guessing the age of the exact item they're holding in that moment, just guessing when they originally came out. They aren't really expected to be right
When I was little a bought a zhu zhu pet (a hedgehog 🦔) in France. I put it next to me when I went to sleep. I probably rolled on to it but it started to make noise. I slept through it, but my parents thought that there was an animal in our tent 😂
Yeah it was. I got one for my b-day. Had it for about a year and my younger brother decided to cut it open to see what was inside. One pair of scissors and leaky goop later, R.I.P. Stretch
Does anyone remember the Hop Rod from the 60s? It was a gasoline powered pogo stick. It was only sold for a couple years. Waaay too many injuries. Oldest brother had one and it still worked when I was old enough to use it. I got off lucky, sprained ankle. My brother broke his collarbone. Mom junked it, smart move on her part.
Ok now i feel old because Nerf is way older than i thought (80's - 90's was my guess) Hatchimals (never heard of ever so after 90's +) Space hopper (i know it from Friends so i figured 80's) so not a bad guess Beyblades (was the tail end of my tweenage years so end of 2000's was my guess) Never ever heard of Zhu zhu pets so i figured 2010's) Stretch Armstrong ( the man landed on the moon in the 60's so i figured the 70's) Etch a sketch ( my guess was the 60's or 70's so not so bad) Rubik's cube (my guess was 80's so im good) Speak n spell ( my guess was 80's so on point dude Bop it (my guess was late 90's as in my late tweenhood so on point dude) Heelys ( I hated these as a teen turning adult so I figured 2000's - 2001's so right on par dude). Pet rock ( I was guessing a little older than me so I was guessing 80's - 70's, and on par again dude so coolness). This was hard and should definitely be a try not to feel old challenge but it was still fun so hey.
my parents were to cheap to get me heelies so I got knock offs that had two sets of two small wheels pop out with the push of a button on the side. they looked like mini roller skates but the wheels were to small so you went flying from running over every little pebble and the frame was poorly designed and bent easily.
