I noticed none of the three G.S.A. Carson City Morgan Dollars are labeled as: UNCIRCULATED on the plastic holder, no doubt because of the toning present on each one. Here are my conservative grades for the three examples: 1882-CC Mint State-62, 1884-CC Mint State-63, and 1881-CC Mint State-64. With the numismatic market trending down for the last nine months or so, I wouldn't be pursuing any of the classic Morgan and Peace Dollars at the present time, whether they're rare-, scarce-, or common-date coins; and that applies to the wider market, as well.
You're correct, none of them had uncirculated due to the toning. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the price of numismatics as well as bullion here in the upcoming future.
I think your 82 is a solid 63 for sure (kinda hoping anyway since my 82 looks similar and I want to send it in). I thought the 84 was a 65, but "only" thought the 81 would get a 64. Still, pretty awesome on 2 out of 3. You can always pull the sticker and resubmit the 82, maybe to PCGS for one of those cool oversized holders.
Yeah I'm considering peeling off the 62 label?? I do feel pretty lucky to have gotten the other two at 65, I think you're right they both could have been either 64~65. Good luck if you decide to submit! I wish we could post photos in the comments, I'd like to see what you've got...
