It's a german group with brazilian members. I was so mad when I saw a thousand videos calling it samba that I had to look it up. Will people one day use real samba to represent Brazil?
Stereotypes didn't offended me but the editing part where they inserted Indian classical dance form pictures which are not even related to Saudi or Punjabi song.. also koreans should stop mimicking the hand gestures which have a deep meaning in Indian classics because it's quite offensive for many classical dancers, they literally dedicate their entire childhood to learn and represent classical forms while these foreigners just mock them and this is why cultural appropriation is still visible in kpop..
They dont mean bad, that's just what they think.. do you think everybody is perfectly educated on all these things? Dont be offended any time, try to help people to learn, even if they wont listen. It's better than them doing it again and you being annoyed, then taking it personally.
@@-MXXI- No, I'm not a person who gets offended everytime when someone stereotype or mock India, as I mentioned the classical dances are so divine in nature and are a way of praying to God or telling the story of avataras in a way that people understands in India, I would never be offended if people mock bollywood dance or normal folk dances but classical is something that should be respected irrespective of where you are from..
10:02 when Koreans find out that this song is NOT Brazilian, their heads/minds will explode LOL, I'm BRAZILIAN and I can say that NOBODY here in Brazil knows about the existence of this song, nobody here has never heard it! I only heard this song when I started watching Korean programs/TV SHOWS and every time they talked about Brazil they put it in the background and start singing kkkkkkkkkk the WORST thing is that they STILL think that this song is from Brazil and that it is super famous/sucess here, being that it is ONLY KNOWN in KOREA🤣 and there is absolutely NOTHING TO DO or similar with our samba!!!

It's a song that doesn't represent us at all, and EVERY Brazilian I've seen who LIVES in Korea and when them tells to some Koreans that this song is NOT Brazilian, most of koreans are surprised and shocked because they always thought this RIDICULOUS song is a big hit in here.
These people just think of an old man sitting with a turban around his head when they think of India but our population is full of Youth as well ladies
@Agnibha Kar It's just their exposure that they're given and their country is also pretty close-minded about quite a lot of other cultures and countries. Not necessarily America, but they do get quite a lot wrong about America.

It’s not really stereotypical of Brazil. Like, it’s just European electronic music with three Portuguese words thrown in. Basically a smart but very lazy attempt by a producer to sell his somewhat tired product as “Brazilian”.

@@sarajadhav8971 aladin the disney one actually takes inspiration from India and middle east. For example the palace in aladin is based on taj mahal and the city is called agraba which is agra, also the country is baghdad which is iraq. So it has taken inspiration from lot of places india iraq afghan etc. Interestingly Jasmine's pet tiger is named Raja which is an Indian name. There are also scenes of snake charmers in the cartoon which is very specific to India. And hence people relate it to India more than they relate it to middle east. Originally internet says its a chinese story😅 Tbh i always felt aladin cartoon had more Indian vibe than middle east vibe.🤣
@@Jennieutf I thought Japanese was a really pretty language, but the rest of my family is on the fence about it. My mother, who's not nearly as big into Japanese culture as I am (I even would like to go and visit Japan someday, maybe even live there for a little while), even she acknowledges that it's a very distinct language like Russian and German.
I have seen lots of k contents and read lots of comments and these two really represents korea's more than half of the population's knowledge about other countries specially india... Korea always made fun of india and it's culture in k-pop, korean shows with stereotypical music Also india has lot of languages spoken in india and it is not "indian "...and not everyone wear a bindi and turban 🤦♀️
tbh there is nothing called indian music bc there are so so many cultures in india and the stereotypcal music people hear is a punjabi song, a community in india wh live in the northern part of the country, Punjab. you have sikhs, gujaratis, marathis, tamilians, bengali people who have different music and im kinda sick of people assuming the that they always associate this song with india and its just about some damn curry fr

Out of curiosity, does anybody from Canada reading this consider that stereotypical Canadian music? I'm from the US and was pretty surprised to see the Canadian flag. The Mexican selection on the other hand was easy.
@@poil8351 First Canadian music I was thinking of was like Canadian Rock music and alternative rock. There's quite a lot of original groups from Canada to the U.S. who were big Rock groups.

what do you mean? we are not discussing if people listen to the songs or not. isn't the india stereotypical song an india song? we are saying the brazilian song is not even a brazilian song. it doesn't sound like samba at all. the rhythm, the beat, the style... etc. nothing to do with samba or brazilian music. samba is a very diverse genre. there are a lot of sub genres of samba. none of them sound like the song in the video. it's just a eletro beat and someone saying "samba samba samba".

I'm just trying to explain that if it's not a Brazilian song, the rest of the world connects it with Brazil and that makes it stereotypical. Actual negative stereotypes of India don't annoy me the same way it's conflation with middle East. They are vastly different regions . Also idk what Aladdin has to do with India. Idk about the original story but the version popularized by Disney seems more Arab inspired that Indian .
As a traditional man and one who likes stereotypes and find them generally true, the Arabic song that played is nothing like any song played in the Arabic world. This is music made by Westerners who have no idea what Arabic music sounds like. It's just walking up and down the only "exotic" sounding scale playable on Western instruments. I am not offended, but it is pretty annoying. Try some Umm Kulthum or traditional oud/ensemble folk music next, take it from an Egyptian.
