Guarda-chuva ao ir para a escola é sacanagem em kkkkk, nunca vi disso. Acho que faltou conteúdo, no geral, por parte dela, mas tranquilo. No Brasil neva e tem sim locais onde o calor chega a ser bem maior do que na China, além disso, a gente conhece o fator de proteção do sol pelo "guarda-chuva", chama-se "guarda-sol" hahah, entretanto, só usamos na praia tal "ferramenta", afinal é meio estranho caminhar na rua com guarda-chuva quando não se está chovendo.

Sempre me machucava, quando criança, ao abrir a "sombrinha", acho que peguei trauma e acabei me esquecendo kkkkkkk. Aqui no sul, geralmente as pessoas mais velhas usam, mas é absurdamente raro, muitas vezes é usado mais como guarda-chuva mesmo, inclusive, achava que era algo específico da parte da minha família que veio do norte, então nem passava pela minha cabeça que se usava em outras áreas do Brasil de forma "comum" além de lá.

She doesn't explain facts about Brazil really well, but I see she tried her best with the knowledge she had. One thing I would like to point out is we don't say Portuguese "discovered" Brazil anymore, it was been taught to us this way for a long time, but now eurocentric concepts are being discarded from our society. Brazil already had millions of native people before the arrival of the Portuguese. And the Portuguese language was forced into the region with colonization. 💀 At least nowdays Brazil have much more influence in portuguese speakers countries. Brazilian Portuguese is very different from the original because we had influence for diverse cultures as well as the native indigenous ones. So for our big size we export a lot of midias in our language for the others countries, and now we influence more Portugal than the opposite.
You are right you can't duscover something that don't exist. Brazil was founded, expanded and constructed by your Portuguese ancestors so don't be stupid. And for the contents on Portuguese its the same for America, obviously bigger countries produce more contents.

Also in the past when Portugal colonized Brazil, there were 100+ native languages that existed in Brazil, as Tupi-Guarani (indigenous language) but in Brazil we don't study past native languages in the school, because some of them got lost and the rest that is there, our country doesn't teach it. So Portuguese and English are the only languages present in schools, be it public or private school.
