When I lived in Studio City I used to occasionally see him driving around in his classic corvette and once crossed paths with him at a muffin shop I used to go to for coffee in the morning. I remember him giving a warm greeting with a pleasant smile. He seemed like a good guy and I wish him well.

Yep, knew who it was. I have met him a couple of times when I was younger and living in his hometown. Steve is really kind and gracious. No one has a voice like his and it's just beautiful.

It wasn’t hard to recognize Steve Perry, but then Journey’s hits were the soundtrack of my young adult life. “Faithfully” came up on the radio a few weeks back, and Hubby said “now THAT is the perfect song for us to dance to at our 40th this summer”. Know what? He’s right❣️

Greatest male singer ever, pitch, range, emotiveness....let me clarify for the nay sayers --The reason he is the GOAT is for several reasons. 1st touring for 10 years Stright night after night city to city and hitting those notes in those songs each time LIVE would have retired any singer after the 1st tour. You look at the people who have tried to replace him they have all blown out their cords. 2nd it is the EMOTIVNESS/sound of the voice, not only perfect pitch and range. But the sound. Sam Cooke rasp soul touching sound. Even at 75 he can no longer sing the Olympic notes but still has the emotiveness and soulful quality. Like Sinatra as he aged which to me is when he sounded best and Elvis who along with him are my top 3 picks - Perry, Sinatra, Elvis. Again, Mikey Tomas sings incredibly high - doesn't have the soulfulness same with Delp from Boston sings high doesn't have the soulfulness...

It took me a millisecond to recognize The voices face ,why Steve Perry literally saved my life many years ago . I was in a verbally and sometimes physically abusive relationship,when the day was done,I would put my ear phones on put his greatest hits on ,and let that incredible voice lull me to sleep ,I knew I could survive one more day until i finally escaped .

I am from Generation X and recognized Steve Perry instantly. You don’t forget that face shown daily on MTV for about five years in the 1980s. Steve had great vocal talent. He thrived at a time when AutoTune was unavailable. Just know that everyone ages. Someday, Millennials and Gen Z will get elderly too. How do you think Justin Beiber or Billie Eilish will look in the year 2074?

Steve Perry was the coolest celebrity I have ever driven in my 35 years in the Limousine Business, I drove him here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for like 4 days in a row. I also mention him in my book at the beginning of Chapter 6. People always ask me questions like who was the best and worst celebrities that I ever met, and out of every star I have ever had the pleasure of driving, Steve was the closest Star to Earth, driving him was like driving a friend around, he was never pretentious and he was very kind. I will never forget how he was gracious enough to sign an Autograph for my Mother in law who simply adored him.

He has a great head of hair for 75!! He is dressed casual out for a day of grocery shopping. With his Irish girlfriend. Good for him!! He will always be The Voice of Journey!! God bless him. I wonder if he still thinks about "Sherrie".... Love this legend always!!
