The house belongs to the Crown estate and will never belong to anyone else, but the lease may be purchased for a period of time. Andrew has a 75 yr old lease, but it comes with stipulations that the Lodge is regularly maintained, if it is not, then Andrew would be in breach of his lease, however it looks like the work is about to commence.
Andrew gets on with Charles - despite media claims to the contrary apparently - and is often seen riding out with both his brothers and his sister, however the media DON'T publish the photos as it is regarded as invasion of privacy it being done in their OFF DUTY TIME (there are a couple of Andrew and Edward taken by a member of the public but official photographers ignore them.

Harry and Meghan will never be offered a home near the Royal family especially near William and Catherine. It makes sense for William and his family to take Royal Lodge. Catherine my need medical care in the future so may need her own bedroom. Also, if her parents or family need to stop they can. They only have a 4 small bedroom cottage at the moment. It maybe some years before William becomes King. The large palaces are open to the public, do events for charities and other formal events. Probably not suitable to have 3 young children and someone who is ill in at the moment. William has the Duchy of Cornwall income which could be used to repair the roof of Royal Lodge which I understand needs doing and other maintenance costs. Andrew is a non working Royal now. There are only Andrew and Fergie now in that 30 roomlodge. Their children have left home. The condition was that Andrew repairs and maintains the property under the terms of his lease. I believe he should move to Frrogmore, however, he hasn't spent a few thousand on the repairs. So far he has spent £15 million ! So maybe it is understandable why he is not in a big hurry to move. The Queen mother used to live at royal lodge and during her time there she spent nothing on it's upkeep. Consequently, when Andrew moved in it needed millions spending on it, just to make it liveable. Hopefully if part of the money that Andrew has already paid out for repairs is returned to him, it may expedite matters.

I'd say that if Andrew wants to continue at Royal Lodge, he needs to be able to maintain it and pay all expenses. If he can do that, well he does have an extended lease. If he can't pay the expenses, then like anyone in that position, Andrew needs to move out.

Andrew isn't getting any younger, and it's not like Charles is tossing him to the street. He is being offered a 5,000 sq ft luxury 5 bed, 3 bath home with 2 orangeries, a yoga studio, a vegetable garden, a huge yard, and surrounded by woodland, all on a royal estate (so he would retain a level of security). He has no children living with him, plenty of room for Sarah if she wants to live there, it would be easier and cheaper to maintain, and likely cheaper as far as "rent". Charles has tried to be gracious with Andrew; he's welcomed Sarah back publicly to the family, and has afforded his daughters opportunities to help out with royal engagements. Andrew needs to put his big boy pants on and realize moving to Frogmore is a smart move for him, whether he likes it or not.

The Queen has passed Windsor Castle to the Prince and Princess of Wales. The King wanted them to move in following the Queen's death, but they had just moved into Adelaide Cottage. They also would like to provide the children with as normal an upbringing as possible.

Our late Queen leased Royal Lodge on a low rent with the proviso that the property is maintained. The lease condition has not been kept, therefore oue King, as now the owner of the property is within his rights to revoke the lease. The name Royal Lodge is deceiptive. It is in fact a palace set within 100 acres of the Gt. Park. Frogmore Cottage is a luxurious 5 bedroom house with a large garden. Andrew is and always has been an arrogant and spoilt person, often rude to those around him and completely different to his siblings.
Should he refuse to move to Frogmore, he may find himself with no where else to live. Given his situation, I would think he would gladly accept that offer.

It should not be forgotten that one of the many conditions that would have to be met when Andrew received the lease was the that the building(s) and grounds had to be kept in good condition. That has NOT happened. The roof is in desperate disrepair and due to the multiple roof levels is very expensive to fit. Another of the conditions is that the home must be painted, I believe, every five years. @jhutchings7527 is correct that when Andrew and Fergie married, his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth gave them a home or their own. The first time Andrew was in hot water regarding Epstein, he was told he MUST give up that friendship. Andrew refused and kept on with his life with the 'in' crowd. Surely the King knows that if his Spare Son and the evil wife were given Royal Lodge, then Charles may as well abdicate as his standing in the UK and possibly worldwide would be worth zero. Prince Andrew is showing his lack of respect for the Monarch. The King is asking for him to leave. He should comply. This is about a jealous second son trying to sabotage his elder brother . Poor Charles has to fight inside and outside the Royal Family by those too selfish to compromise.
Charles has always been jealous of Andrew. Andrew was reported to be the late Queen's favourite child . If anybody should move out of their castles it should be Charles and his Rottweiler.
Prince Andrew should be VERY HAPPY with Frogmore Cottage. He is still lucky he’s offered a home. Harry and Meghan will never have Frogmore Cottage or any other estate on Royal land ,especially while Meghan is still in the picture.
Harry chose to leave and does Not Deserve Royal Lodge, he is an Ex Royal to me by choice and every choice has a consequence. I think Andrew should stay there, before giving to Harry and Meghan!
Hello Neil, I know that Andrew has been at Royal Lodge for 20 odd years and I can understand that he wants to stay there....but he has no personal income and it's an expensive property to keep in order. I genuinely think that once he's made the move to Frogmore, he would soon see the practicalities of the move....he's not getting any younger after all, and really doesn't need a home that size....it would obviously be perfect for William and Catherine, with their children, and Andrew needs to bite the bullet and accept that unless he wins the lottery, without the financial help from Charles, he'd be living like a pauper....but at a very expensive address. I think Royal Lodge would be perfect for the Wales Family! Why would Andrew and Fergie stay in a house that large, which takes that much money to keep up? I also think it would look better via the public if Andrew gave up that enormous home. Perhaps if he did that, he could eventually start doing some royal duties. Just saying . . . As to Harry and Markle - they have no right to any royal home. They gave up their roles and have continued to attack and/or go against the RF, i.e., royal tours, Spare 2, etc . . .
They have given up all the royal responsibilities, but still insist on all the benefits and money. It would be an affront to everyone in the UK to have those 2 representing them.
I don’t understand why Andrew and Harry think it’s ok for the King to keep having to support them or put up with their behaviour 😮 We all make choices and both Andrew and Harry have to live with the consequences of those choices 😮 If they want grand homes and lots of security due to their egos then they can pay for it and if they can’t well they have no one to blame but themselves for their situation 😮

The Royal Lodge is in dire need of repairs and PA doesn't have the funds for its upkeep or to repair it and its heading to a state of disrepair. The Queen funded the upkeep and now the King at a huge monthly cost. PA and Sarah don't have the money to do repairs and they don't need 30 bedrooms! Frogmore Cottage was renovated by the markles and would be a better option for Andrew and Sarah.
Under no circumstances whatsoever would the British public tolerate the return to the UK of the Harkles, never mind them being ensconced in a Royal residence at the tax payers expense. If His Majesty the King goes down that route, I think even a royalist like myself would demonstrate for an end to Royal privilege and the monarchy.
Harry and Meghan should never be allowed to reside in a Royal residence, and Andrew made his bed, so he should be grateful he's been offered an alternative and not been pushed out altogether... just my opinion, of course
Given that Sarah is an ex wife and both girls are married with their own homes Royal Lodge is rather big for just one person especially as it costs £400,000 a month to maintain!
Well favourite screams at Andrews house built from scratch sunninghill. Then all of a sudden that property was sold and the Queen leased for 75 years the other house he is in now. Who else was gifted so much by the late Queen. Seems to me that Andrew led the way to whinging and whining long before H, and managed to twist whatever he wanted out of the late Queen. Late Queen also funded the lawsuit and paid Virginia G. Andrew never had the funds to accomplish the settlement. Now Andrew is on his own, no mummy to cover expenses.
