Yeah it’ll stay but it will also be hollow. If you drop something on it it’ll break since it doesn’t have a solid mortar bed. Hope it turns out well for yall. Another tip for you all if you haven’t finished the floors yet. Take your tile to the middle of the door opening. It hides the transition from tile to carpet or tile to wood etc. it looks great.

Lydia got some skills. The floor is awesome. I've always wanted a floor with a center piece. Being where you're at the alligator was perfect. Jim I think you did the right thing letting her do it. ( Not trying to put down your abilities 😊) Hope she gets her voice back soon. It probably was a good thing on this project that she didn't . That way all she had to do was concentrate on the job. You did a phenomenal job on your guest bathroom! Me, living in Florida. I love love love the gator in the center. I know you used black grout but the camera makes it look a little gray. If it looks that way in person, try sealing it with tile impregnating sealer, it will really make the black stand out . Love your guys’s journey! ❤

The first tile job my wife and I did was in a house we outgrew in the 1980's. It was made a horrible experience because we both had the flu, and were not wanting to work. But back then, we were young and got it done (a day late.) I graduated to stone in our present home, and have laid travertine in the entry and both bathrooms. And a backsplash over the walls in the kitchen. I also have an inexpensive tile saw that I bought a couple of decades back. At the time, I think it was $49.99 at Home Depot. It makes a mess, but it cuts tile and stone like a champ! (Being a nerd, I even bought a few geodes and it worked like a champ on those too!) I'm also very impressed that you're using the leveling devices. By my second work with stone flooring, I understood the advantage it gives in making a floor dead flat. FWIW, I used white mortar, not construction adhesive. I think that would actually be less expensive than tubes of adhesive.

About a week ago I was down your way picking up a new/old truck in Jennings. Drove through some burn spots. that must have been nerve wracking. PS I went skiing at Butte La Rose once through the swamp (not in the main channel). I fell once and the boat left me floating with the gators and the green "stuff" up around my neck. They were all Lafayette swamp children and were laughing their asses off as they waved bye bye. First and LAST time I'll ever do that. Obviously I lived to tell the tale. This was definitely before either of you were born.

Okay, I’m an idiot. I knew you had alligator wallpaper, and I obviously saw the green alligator in the middle of the floor, but it wasn’t 21:15 that I realized that the tile itself had the alligator skin imprint! It is really beautiful. You pair some of the most unusual textures that absolutely work!

I had the same thing happen to my black grout. Washing the excess off the tiles pulls the color out of the grout. The fix was to dye the grout lines black with some powdered black fabric dye mixed with grout sealer using an artist's paint brush. The fresh grout will absorb the black dyed sealer quite well.

I've never seen ya'll back down from a project, but the mosaic - WOW! Figured that might be the one to put a crack in that armor. Well done and continue to be impressed with the tenacity and drive. The outcome was better than imagined and SOOOO cool. Rock on!!

That floor looks amazing, but yes the concern using the liquid nail is that there are hollow spots that could cause the tile to Crack over time. Best of luck. I love the outcome ❤
