Oh my, because of your video, I am now introduced to this curriculum and I'm EXCITED! I like teaching history the most but I am intrigued by the high school science curriculum for chemistry from GH. We have been using another popular program and my soon to be 9th grader is just not enjoying it. :( It's very wordy and he's not mathy either. I believe this might be the answer to my prayer of what to do for him next year and put some joy back into his science lessons. I also want to check out some of their other things too for my 3rd grader. Thank you for sharing this!
I’m so glad this helped introduce you to Guest Hollow! They have so many awesome options for high school. I’ve heard they are so rich. But since we still have elementary kids, we’ve been only doing the younger grades. I’m excited for you to check it out!
Thank you so much for this information I will definitely check them out I see they have an American History curriculum. I joined by following on Facebook IG and subbing to your channel. My fave subject to teach is Bible.
@@schultesweeties good question! I guess, it’s because there is a correct answer unlike some other subjects that are more subjective… I also like that it’s easier to see gaps. That said, I don’t teach algebra! I can do algebra but I’m not good at explaining it yet. Hopefully, by our third kid to get there I will be. Haha! My husband takes about 6 hrs a week working on Algebra 2 with our 2nd daughter. She has an algebra class with a teacher all week (my two oldest are at the local high school) but the teacher doesn’t teach. The kids are supposed to teach each other. She doesn’t learn that way. She needs direct instruction. For math curriculums, I’m really liking the one my 5th grader is using - Supercharged Science’s new math program. The math I picked for my younger kids this year is meh...
I enjoy teaching history the most. I've found that my kids tend to get excited when learning about the past & different cultures. It's easier and more enjoyable for everyone when there is already a spark of interest there.
My favorite thing to teach is reading and phonics. It is such a struggle in the beginning, but when it finally clicks, it’s magical. Once they learn to read, they are capable of learning anything.
Becca! I just drew your name to receive the $20 promo code to use with Guest Hollow! Could you email me at schultesweeties@gmail.com so I can get you the information?
My favorite subject to teach my boys is math. I love being able to help them gain math skills as well as math confidence!! On another note, I love Guest Hollow!! Using their Physics with my 10th grader & it is just phenomenal. #guesthollow
Yay! I love hearing other good reviews of Guest Hollow! Everything we’ve used has been really great, but it has mainly been the younger years for now. It is such a great thing to see math click with kids!
I really love teaching science, particularly space. Book studies are another favorite of mine, but my oldest tends to fight me on it so it is more of a love hate relationship.
Nice! Are you just naturally math minded or have a good math curriculum? I must say, I love our current math...it's pretty easy to teach with not too many frustrations.
I have really enjoyed teaching Shakespeare/ doing Shakespeare with my kids and a couple other families these past couple years. It has been so fun, and the kids have blown me away by how much they’ve understood and gotten into it!
My favorite subject to teach is probably history. Very interested in using Guest Hollow, thanks for sharing about this and their sale! I will definitely give them a try and buy now during their sale.
My favorite subject to teach is science , we are currently using Guest Hollows Anatomy Jr. It has been great so far and look forward to trying another science by Guest Hollow with my boys .
I didn’t realize you could keep it online with GH. I keep returning to Guest Hollow (still haven’t made a purchase yet) They have a few things we would love to try. This video was helpful!😊
Glad we it was helpful! I really love the online schedules and not printing out everything. The links are all clickable in the schedule. It is so nice! Make sure to enter the giveaway too!
I liked teaching writing the most, but I think that's because I'm a writer! That, and good literature. I always added in my younger kids to what I was doing with the older kids, too. We liked the Apologia books for science. Looks like an interesting website.
I would have to say I’m torn between geography and history being my favorite subjects to teach. My kids really enjoy those subjects as well so we are able to have fun with them as a family. I recently discovered guest hollow and can not believe we haven’t heard of them before. We are super excited to incorporate them into our homeschool next semester!
I definitely love teaching Geography and History now too. I learning so much more now than I did as a kid! I have a video of Guest Hollow’s Jr Geography too! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ymfOjpcJGZo.html Got you entered into the giveaway
Oh fun! I need you in my house! I’ve got 3 art loving girls and it just isn’t my thing. Painting stresses me out 😂 But I am trying to just make the time for them to be creative.
how are you going to verify the likes on their Facebook and Instagram when people's names here on youtube may be different than the other two platforms?
I hope it is more of an honors system/encourage others to do it. I likely won’t be able to track it, but I wanted to try to encourage others to like Guest Hollow too!
I love teaching history and geography! Do you know if any of the guest hollow FB groups use Band too? Band is like a standalone Facebook group. I have not had a Facebook account for 3 years.
Me too! I just checked with Jenn and Charles Guest and they said they do not have a Band account (I had never heard of it before and they haven’t either). They said they are most active on Instagram and Facebook, but also have mewe account and twitter but aren’t very active on it. They said you are also welcome to email at any time: guesthollow@memorableplaces.com
@@schultesweeties thanks! I hadn’t heard of it either but my friend convinced her homeschool group to switch to it from Facebook so I and a few other non-Facebook people could join!
