Will a general USB to CAN board work instead of the Fly-UtoC?

Hello, what about jumper on canbus to activate resistors?

Thanks for the tutorial. Are you going to update it like the Hartk Revision 2 board, that already has Dupont connectors on the small board that gets installed in the front cover, to easily be able to connect the fans and Neopixels without having to solder the wires on? Thanks!

Hello, kindly update the document with atleast few common boards wiring like BTT Octopus. BTT Octopus provides CAN port already so unable to understand if UTOC board still required there…..

mellow.klipper.cn/#/advanced/usb2can This is a general method, you only need to make minor modifications according to your own motherboard

Thank you. I just order all the part. Can't wait to assemble it to my voron.

I saw this on a random Banggood as, and I'm trying to figure out what it's actually used for.

It make the wires going to the top big of a 3d printer only need 4wires instead of 15
@jmckenna2k10
@jmckenna2k10 Год назад
@@jonno1130 that seems like a stupid amount of extra weight to save a few lightweight wires. Anyone here know what does it actually does?
@markaltmann583
@markaltmann583 Год назад
@@jmckenna2k10 It's not about saving weight but reducing the possibility of wires breaking while getting bent thousands of times in the cable chains (on the Voron for example.) Those Canbus mods usually also incorporate a umbilical style of routing the wires which further reduces strain and improves the reliability of the printer. Do you need it? No. But it's a nice gimmick
@jmckenna2k10
@jmckenna2k10 Год назад
@@markaltmann583 I mean, reducing the number of wires doesn't really seem like it would change the possibility of those wires breaking. Maybe I'm just kidding something here. Properly securing and safely routing the wires seems like it would make more sense to me than cutting the amount of wires down.
@markaltmann583
@markaltmann583 Год назад
@@jmckenna2k10 Sure, all wires have some kind of mean time before failure. But the possibility of breaking increases with the count of wires (assuming the type, manufacturer etc. is identical) due to inconsistencies in production. The more wires you use the higher the risk of having a "dud" in your harness. Think single strands broken in the manufacturing process, while packaging or handling. And if the failure happens, it's easier to replace 4 rather than 12 wires.
