I just wanna play ash wastes to kitbash ork looking vehicles, I couldn´t care less about the GSC ones XD. Not even gonna look at their stats. hahaha good video anyway!
My custom medium vehicles I made out of 1:43 scale diecast cars both have vehicle operated weapons and a crew operated weapon for a mad max feeling and because I bought every gang and the genestealer cult battle box I had plenty of bits to make them pretty sweet.
Walker turns any times not just 2 times. so it is good if the terrain is very very dense. (so usually not really....) And because you are slow, you don't need to turn that many anyway. Technically you can use 3 heavy wapon on it, but it will hardly survive. :( I wanted to play with my eldars, I like wraith lords, but making them with the walker rule... no, it won't work.
Pneumatic radials isn’t plus 1 handling, it’s ignore difficult terrain, I think you mean all wheel steering (which the rockgrinder can’t take). So only tyre claws for a max of 7 handling on a rockgrinder. Heavy can take both and get to 6 handling.
My House rule for walkers is: Any Custom chassis can chose Walker as Locomotion type and for it gets -1 Movement, +1 Handling and Can make any number of turns during its movement. Now to adress the imbalance between Custom and Standard vehicles I've been considering the following House rule: During a campaign a gang can install any Upgrades on Standard vehicles (except the Cargo-8 and Iron crawler, because they're already too powerful), but doing so permanently adds to them the Jury-rigged rule. As for the Cargo-8 and Iron crawler, they are by far the 'strongest and most point-efficient' vehicles in the game (especially the Cargo-8 with extra Trailers): even if you just want a vehicle with a flat transport bed to carry your entire gang into battle (braving the risk of Photon flash grenades and Blaze templates hitting your entire gang with 1 shot), it is hard to beat the Cargo-8 and if you add their Cargo options (Munitorum container if you want to spam Heavy weapons, Promethium tank if you want more Transport bed area and post battle D3+D6x10 credit gains), they can quickly tilt the balance of a campaign. I would be inclined to limit Cargo-8s to only NPC/scenario objective use (not in player gangs), unless every player in the group has a Cargo-8 of their own or consciously decides not to use it (I have 2 Cargo-8s, one of which I can lend to my opponent, for when I'd like to use mine, so we have equal 'Vehicle' options). Anyway, cheers! :)
That's similar to our walker house rule, though I think ours only had the extra pivot during movement rule. We're heavily considering either a ban or a massive credits increase for the Cargos next campaign - but it's hard when half the group has dropped $90 on a kit!
I love the The cargo 8 Ridge hauler, only because I love road trains And I bought a combat patrol for my genestealer gang so I love the idea of having my entire combat patrol on a cargo eight with a Goliath truck with a rock grinder attached to the front flanked by two squads of jackal bikes And behind them the ridge runner cars
You guys are so sweet thinking the discount is because you get less choice and not so GW can sell a $90 model because any other option is less optimal.
I've been thinking of making a Chimera based party wagon for my Escher gang. Necromunda makes a lot of weapons for the Imperium, there's got to be some Chimeras and the like that have "fallen off the back of a shuttle". I also bought a couple of Space Marine Scout bikes and lightly converted them for my Enforcers. They could be either wastelander bikes, or a light vehicle.
You wouldn't add one to a campaigns that doesn't allow them Ur point on that is moot U know what campaign Ur playing before U make Ur list and if Ur going from ash waste to another then anyone U were playing with is Likly suffering simply and if not talking going from one to another and U know U can't take one why would u even take it U wouldn't no-one is playing Necro with just vehicles
It would likely depend on the motor bikes. Running a "light vehicle" with treads is certainly do-able. In fact Goliath's Mauler is basically that. If you wanted an equipment that allowed for treads that could be something interesting to discuss with your Arbitrator. The book does say it's an option to use vehicle equipment on a mount. I could see making a treaded bike.
There's an optional rule tucked away in the Waster's Dirtbike description that mentions allowing them to take upgrades (pg 41). If I was arbitrating I would allow a swap of locomotion type as an upgrade.
The handling on the walker shouldn't be underestimated sooooo many damage results ask you to make a handling check, I had a walker with a mining laser was an absolute terror they could see it, they could shoot it, they could wound it, but every damn time the the damage result says roll a handling check and it never failed me also being tall means no-one can hide from you!
Absolutely - the only reason we discount it, is that with T3 and a 5+ save with 1 wound, you'll often lose that wound and just die before handling checks come into play. Definitely not nothing though.
