Got a root canal done about 2 month ago. To anyone who is sacred or nervous, just listen. I was absolutely terrified as I don’t like needles or drills at all. But I found a really good endodontist (however you say it) that did everything he could to make me comfortable. It was a smooth procedure and did not hurt one bit. The only thing that hurt was the medical bill, how long it took, how much the infected tooth stunk, and keeping my mouth open for that entire time. Was a tiny bit sore afterwards, but it was nothing compared to the pain before. I was pretty lucky because the nerve was already dead, but I had a huge infection. It was so easy and painless, so to anyone scared, it’s ok! Just find a good doctor you trust to do it, and it will all go perfect ❤
Guys literally had a root canal it's painless but you need to make sure the dentist is experienced After the anaesthesia i felt no pain the entire procedure was painless It was a molar so it took two 60 minutes appointments just make sure the dentist is patient during the procedures and isn't in a hurry and you will be Absolutely fine
I wish i knew this when i was younger he fucked it up so bad the entire tooth is literally gone after a few years now and the post is causing me so much pain
I got mine done yesterday and honestly when they do it it don’t really hurt but damn man after the numbing shot goes away it hurts so bad I can’t even eat with out hurting my teeth it’s the 2nd day and fuck is the pain so bad!!!!!!!
Anyone scared, kids or adults, it may seem like alot but it will make you feel wayyy better I know it may be scary I was terrified but find a good dentist and they will make you feel right at home and if your scared of needles like I am just fight through it because the numbing works sooo well you won’t feel anything but your jaw being tired from being open for so long haha.
Anyone else getting a root canal soon? Update: Got the root canal. On my #8 tooth (my front right “buck tooth”). I got the numbing gel, and paid $50 extra for laughing gas. Literally the most painful experience of my life. I’m not kidding people, don’t skip out on the anesthetic. It was horrifying.
@BitsytheSuperkitty HEAD MY WARNING, GET AS MANY DRUGS AND PAIN KILLERS AS POSSIBLE. Take Ibuprofen & Aleve-D beforehand, and ask for the knockout gas. I fucked up today, and I suffered horrific pain. Don’t make my mistake.
I’m sorry man that sounds horrible, I just got one on my molar with no laughing gas and it was painless, I can’t imagine having it done on my front tooth that’s crazy. I’m just now realizing you said you only got the numbing gel, and skipped out on the anesthesia, holy shit man you are tough as hell for doing that
Cristian Acosta well it doesn’t hurt as much just make sure they don’t underdose u, for me the only thing that bothered me was the vibration when they drill yk
This isn’t your typical root canal, but take it from someone who’s had four root canals and had one molar extraction, on top of four wisdom teeth extractions. A root canal is nothing like an extraction. To me the most uncomfortable part of the whole procedure is the smell of the sodium hypochlorite solution to disinfect the canal. It smells like bleach, and I can’t stand the smell of bleach.
I was close to having this done last year. But, my insurance didn't cover it, as it would be over $1K. So, I had the molar that was supposed to have the Root Canal done on, extracted instead.
How was the extraction process? Did you have any unbearable pain for days or weeks after the procedure? I've been long overdue (about a year) for my root canal and have a consultation in about 2 days, I'm not really looking forward to paying 1k for the root canal procedure, so I'm considering extracting it instead.
@@Nothing00987 It was okay. My mouth hurt for 1.5 weeks. And it didn't take long for the hole where the molar was to close up/heal. I think it was better than almost having to end up spending over $1K to get a Root Canal done.
@@hopelightninstrikem8167 Sorry for all these questions, but did you ever get some sort of replacement for that tooth? Were you awake during the extraction or is there options to make the extraction less painful like maybe being put to sleep? I've had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed whilst being awake and that was a nightmare and I'm just trying to prepare myself haha.
@@Nothing00987 No, I didn't get a replacement tooth. I just wanted it gone. And no, I was asleep, as I don't prefer to be awake during any procedure, and I don't want to feel anything being done. Being asleep is way better than being awake.
I finished my treatment today.. in my country it is a whole different procedure. it took 4-5 days to finished cause doctor gave me options to use or not use injection .and I told no injection cause I pee my pants just seeing injection.they took the nerve out without numbing cause stupid me I said no injection and man it hurt like hell inserting 3 pins of different sizes and thickness and I suggest u to use injection can little pain can save u from unbareable pain.peace ✌️
Kennedy Williams i live in asia and they only cover insurance for certain places. And all the prices are doubled because of the pandemic. I honestly don’t know what to do.
I had RCT done on my right bottom molar in 2007. 10 years or so later, I started feeling a sensation in the back canal when pressed. until earlier this year, I disregarded it. Then I went for the cap replacement. It felt fine until I encountered severe throbbing pain last month. I went for the checkup. The dentist recommended re-rct. This is the first time I learned about it. Since my doctor wasn't available, I went to a dental college. Since the dentist didn't administer anesthesia, the last poke went straight into the deepest cavity, confirming that it was infected. The pain I felt for the next hour or so is beyond description. After several attempts over the next three sittings, he was unable to remove the gutta percha from the other two canals and advised tooth extraction. Given how psychologically unsettling the entire episode was, I was forced to go for it. Around the extraction site, there emerged painful mouth ulcers. I’m currently in the healing process. Hopefully, in a week or two, everything will be alright.
@@mariiag.8683 It's finally healed after the extraction, despite the discomfort. Although a dental implant was suggested for my second molar, I opted against it. I've had several more root canal treatments done, and I'm hopeful that the difficulties I faced with this one won't recur with the others.
@@mariiag.8683 It is fine as of now after several months. I take good care of oral hygiene yet feel a bit sensation at the extraction site. Not much discomfort though.
i just got a root canal yesterday, and they said that if it gets infected again they will have to surgically remove the root by cutting open my gums and take it out
Just skip Aspen Dental... worse practicing providers and establishment out there... ughhhh.. after having my emergency root canal there, I wouldn't even take a pet there. Looks nice and professional fancy gadgets nice new clean buildings etc... trash employees and work ethic of providers. My tooth felt equally as bad before during and after root canal 😭😭
Dental corporations like aspen have a bad reputation for overworking their employees and forcing them to do procedures they aren’t comfortable doing. It’s borderline malpractice
