It seems to me that the blunderbuss and the sword are the best for ship boarding

@@giantlizard9158 well that make sense... historically and not there are pirates and merchants.. it seems nobody still understood that, you just have to choose a side I would love to see actual players guilds voted to defend peaceful players(merchants) from pirate players

@@digge2210 Speaking of history, pirates' favorite weapons are and were firearms, not metal sticks, they had its place of course but they did prefer shooting Although sword fights are epic and require a lot of skill in real life, it is more convenient to shoot your opponent repeatedly until he dies, but in the game sword fighting seems clunky and requires less skill than aiming that's why no one respects the sword

The people who get mad at sword are the same players who equip blunderbuss and never swap it.

So hypothetically even if it was completely broken, you shouldn't care because real pirates used swords?

I didn't play the new update yet, but I think I am going to play sword and knives. Knives have a lot of fire rate and will outperform any other ranges weapon in boarding aside for blunderbuss oneshots. Double melee the new chad loadout.

@finnlarson6364 My aim is really bad. That's why I use the pistol, the knives, the rifle. So I can get better. I use the sword because the mobility is too good.

The stun from the Swords is the annoying part

Because of arena TDMers that why. There are only two kinds of people who loved arena, the ones who TDMed on the islands and the ones who loved the glory of battling 4 ships at once. TDMers are the ones who climb onto your ship and spawnkill you so noobs think doublegunning is the meta and join the hivemind instead of mastering the sword.

Double barrel is 40 per shot and the knife is 60 thrown 15 stab and 70 or 80 charged I forgot

I still play it its pretty fun if you can maybe you should start playing again there is still plenty of active servers

unironically saw a guy who said that pvp is dead as long as blunderbass can 1 shot

​@@AntoninoChiguretto it basically is, blunderbuss ruins pvp balance. It's real purpose is to give solo players a chance against multiple boarders and the only way to achieve that is for it to be grossly over powered.

@@Choom89 nah, you need all 10 pellets to hit you. If you prefer range then just dont allow it to be close. If you have sword you can hop to dodge. Of course thats my personal experience, but i would like to admit that i had looots of fights

@@Choom89 I've seen you go aroudn to dozens of comments telling people that blunderbuss is overpowered and hated and should be removed. It really isn't. There are so many ways to counter it. You sound like you just have bad experiences with it, and don't know how to deal with it

I agree sword can be occasionally as I feel sometimes stunned but blunder is definitely more annoying just being dead in 0.2 seconds a really good sword user Is terrifying

Blunderbuss has been OP since day 1.

18 on the jab, 70 on the heavy stab and 60 on the throw take this with a grain of salt though, these are just the numbers i've heard

According to the SoT Wiki: 14 stab 70 heavy stab 65 throw

Throw = 60 Stab = 18 Power Stab = 70

@@Choom89 I try but the other weapons are so clunky. I know its dumb but realistically there is no reason to use long range when boarding

Hitting shots without aiming is a pistols advantage too. Sniper in the first year used to do this and unless you quick scope perfectly it is not a good pistol replacement.

@weststormborn yeah, but people dont use the pistol much because the sniper outranks it. I honestly dont think it should be able to quick scope, to emphasize its slower gameplay style of sniping and stuff. But then again, knife also outranks it now. So idk

Sniper Is ok, but i hate people double gunning with it. Like sometimes when i board i get Insta killed from the other side of the boat, before i can atleast see their stupid face.

just no that ruins the point keep in mind that only does 5 less dammage from the pistol making it a 2 shot kill and another insta kill gun but instead of you having to get really close like the blunder you only have to get mid range like a pistol COMPLETELY ruining balance "clunkiesness" alright I get it but once you get used to the gun by practicing aiming one shot than aiming the other instead of being used to shooting 1 shot than being done than it becomes a good gun

They should just replace blunder with the double barrel and put throwing knives in barrels so they don't take a weapon slot
