For the first time I practice selling profits and am so happy about it. I took two chunks while it was rising and saw it fall after some negative came out. Old strategy was just to keep hodling and ride it out. Happy to take those profits and put it into the next coin
Look, there’s a time and place for HODLing, but some people are obsessive with it and it could easily backfire. Hypothetically, if I was one of the Chosen Few who mined/bought way back in 2010, you better believe I’d have sold at least half of my stash in 2021 during the peak, let the rest ride, and carried on with life as a millionaire/billionaire. Once you’ve won the game, GTFO. The house doesn’t always have to win, but people get hung up on FOMO and they ruin an unbelievable blessing!
Hes the only one who nailed it I lost out on about 4 grand just holding and watching it go down o got a stategy he didnt mention just take out profits whatever you made besides your initial investment everytime it goes up by like 20 dollars 15 dollars that way you made money so when it goes down you still made some money to do whatever or buy more if it dips
I love your videos on crypto. They are informative, well-structured and easy to understand. I also like your practical approach, many others just clickbait and make everything into urgency and drama and they stress me out. A huge THANK YOU from me for keeping me sane during the ups and downs.
I love the break down on taking profits, so thank you! However, what if you are DCA buying in to a coin for longer term (1-2 yrs) but also want to take profits from time to time along the way, how does that work? Any insight would be appreciated!
It is January 2023 and I am watching this video for the first time! Thank you so much Max. It truly has shined a light on the options per trader accordingly etc I will use this as a simple tool moving forward 😎Bcool
SIMPLY AMAZING VIDEO BROTHER!!! Not all technical and VERY easy to understand!! As a total NOOB to crypto even i understood it and basically wrote it all down as well haha. BEYOND HAPPY i found your channel friend!!! Will absolutely be watching more in the future to learn more with out alot of the TA lingo that new people just dont understand yet. Keep up the "Crypto 101 for dummies"!!! lol (maybe you should creat a library name called "Crypto 101 for dummies" and "dumb" down everything in simple terms and have it all in one place on your channel hahaha Much love and appreciation for what you do bud!!
What about taking 2 sections out and leaving the third? Example: $1,000 invested turns to $2,000 then remove initial investment. Repeat once more to take some cream and leave the rest to grow if you still believe in the project.
Hi Max, you addressed a lot of fundamental concepts for me as a beginner that I didn't fully understand, thank you so much - you're a great teacher! Subbed
If you use the dollar cost average method to invest and then you sell a portion of your holdings of a certain coin, how is your cost basis determined? Can you pick which "share" you are selling to minimize your capital gains tax? In other words, if you bought some Bitcoin when the price was $30k and you also bought some at $40k, but then sold a chunk - can you say that the chunk you sold was the one that cost $40k so your gain is less?
Hey Max, is there any way we can get that chart you were displaying? Maybe in pdf format? If it's only for patrons, how would we find it on your patreon?
Great content, as always! I have a quick question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (air carpet target dish off jeans toilet sweet piano spoil fruit essay). Could you explain how to move them to Binance?
I've been lucky to get in the market doing these volatile times. DCA in; mostly ADA, following Kyle like you mentioned; watching the support and resistance levels. Learning how to use line chart seems to be more of a learning curve. At least conceptually. The patron group is incredibly invaluable!

Taking profits was something I belabored the right strategy for a while. What I think I'll do is withdraw 4% per year after I reach a nice number. This will give me residual income, allow me to take yearly profits, without affecting the principal too much, or maybe not at all.
Missed the DeFi strategy -- where you add the assets to a liquidity pool and slowly DCA from one to another as the price increases. And minting stablecoins or other tokens against your digital assets.
Very informative as always... amazing presentation... wish I knew about this before I got into crypto... the only strategy I had was sell at the very top lol...
You have options Matthew! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IND_WQkoxlE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J9-VsWNv0vc.html
What if you buy gold and silver with crypto would that be considered trading and ot selling then you could just cash out selling your gold coins at pawns shops and gold buying places
Hi there mate, good video. I know when to buy and sell, but what I'm mainly curious about is how much profit to take out. At the moment i am just taking out how much i think the crypto is going to drop, For example, if I think a crypto is going to drop about 5% then I just take out 5% out and if it pumps a tiny bit higher, say 2% then i would take an additional 2% out. Would you say that this is a good strategy? Thanks bro
hey Max i would like to look into the Limit Order section but have no idea how, i use Binance. Do you have a video of how to do it? thanks for your awesome vids
The fact that so many crypto exchanges don’t support basic stuff like limit orders and stop losses which pretty much every stock broker has, really annoys me. I’m on BitPanda and Coinbase, and neither do! Limit orders in particular would be so nice, but at most I get a price alarm which feels weirdly low-tech.
Hi. When we sell, is it better to sell for usdt, usdc and keep those stablecoins untill we want to convert those to fiat and cash out..? I'm thinking, if we should have high gains and don't really want to pull all that cash out, is it safe to keep stablecoins for long..? Thanks to anyone answering.
Yes, converting to stablecoins can help lock in profits. In terms of safety, as long as you trust the platforms you're using, it should be fine. Diversification is key though!
Awesome video. I think the Gemini exchange allows for buying and selling the way you described in your video. They have been around a long time too. Great content here Max 🤙🏼
. . . . . . Max maher. Or anyone on these comments. Plz help. I am an extremely green crypto investor. So I am trying to take profits at the moment. But i only want to take my winnings. Why does my crypto amount go down?? Shouldn't my original investment stay the same? And simply be able to pull out my winnings?????
do you have any strats for people who have just started and are invesitng 100$ a month? I'm trying to do a 30 30 20 20, 30 BTC, 30 ETH, 20 one big coin, 20 smaller ones in hope they do a x100 to invest back into BTC. is it sound?
Good Afternoon Max!! Great video as always, thank you for all you share!! Have a wonderful and blessed day!! Blessings to you and your businesses and all that you do for everyone on teachings! Be careful and safe!! 😍🤗💖❣️🌟💯
Thankfully, my first foray into this space, I managed to sell at the top. I then managed to also see the bottom and repurchased. But I only repurchased on the gains, so I am playing with "house money". But you are right...it IS difficult to time the market, especially when there is so much unknowable information such as what the feds will do. So my strategy at this point is dollar cost avg in and out in a fashion while keeping an eye on TA. Also, regarding those alts in gaming? how do you know which ones will be popular? will they stay popular? I decided instead to diversify in the underlying tech. We'll see how that turns out! I wish you all luck!
Yeah, DCA + TA is a great strategy especially if you're in it for the long term! Gaming NFTs: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b_mlbSYZX88.html
GREAT VIDEO! I'm definitely in that last category, but it's been fun & interesting watching my crypto portfolio grow, tossing in $10 here, $5 there, and maybe $20-30 monthly towers something elsewhere. Been doing this since Jan if this year & so far I've seen about 18% returns on average, which is pretty cool! Your videos have definitely been a good help on all this.
75% of my portfolio is in a hardware wallet for long term trading. The other 25% I keep on an exchange where I play around with short term. One of my short term 2Xd the other day. I cashed out 75% of it. It's on the verge of 3X. If that happens I will cash out another 10%. The last 15% will stay til I hit 5X or better. Not sure if that's a good strategy or not. But it's fun to mess with.
If I take out my initial investment and ride the wave.. does that mean I won’t be able to reinvest in it again? What if something like ETH. bought it for $1200 and now it’s at $4k+ and I plan to continue to DCA into it.. does it make sense to ever pull out profits?
This is not financial advice but if you prefer pulling out profits to invest on other coins, I suggest you do not pull out the full amount probably only a percentage.
Thank you SO much for this! I have minimal investments and am in for the long run, but I want to at least analyze things better to know if I can take out even a tiny bit….if need be. I haven’t watched yet but I’m eager to…the question I’ve been asking myself as a newbie.
