Who is The NHL MVP? At the end of every NHL season the NHL hands out season awards like most sport. Unlike the other major sports leagues however the names of these awards are not as strait forward as "NHL MVP", "Rookie of the Year", or "Defensive Player of the Year". Instead they go by the names of the people they are named after (Hart, Calder, Norris, ect.). This can definitely be confusing at first for new fans, so here is a guide to which awards are for which achievement.
I Forgot the Mention the Willie O'ree Community Hero Award as well, introduced in 2018.

I started this series knowing nothing about hockey (still need to watch the history videos) but now I can say that I know a little bit more. I guess there is no better time to start watching it than now!

Glad you're enjoying it! Hockey is fast so it's easy to miss things but the playoffs are a great place to start and the finals are coming up soon!

If the NHL would televise more games on Broadcast TV, it would really create more of a fan base, and increase revenue. Toronto televises all the Leaf's games, home and away. I know the city likes the Raptors more.

Most sports have a ton of awards (at least in north America) but hockey is especially confusing because they all have people they are named after.

It's such a fun sport to watch I always enjoyed watching it when I could. Mostly tho I think it's just that I love pro sports. Glad you are enjoying the videos and thanks for the comment!

No, they are probably worth mentioning I suppose, but no one really pays attention to conference championships. Unless you win the Stanley cup it doesn't matter a ton, and if you do, it's overshadowed.
