They came to Boise in the mid 90's played a small club. We and they drank so much beer, I have never seen the likes of them. My brother got beer spilled all over him during game of pricks! It was the best of times, GBV!!!
But that's the deal and the good songs are short that's why they're good and that's why they're special man he got to understand that don't you get your answer is longer cuz it's good then be good would it
Nice to see that Bob is back on the "Two Tub" stage setup again and, that he made sure that ACL had him sorted! New band is outstanding. I was super fortunate to have seen GBV live multiple times in the 90s and through the "classic lineup" reunion in the early 2010's. I am a HUGE Mitch/Tobin fan. However, I have to say that THIS lineup (once Bob came to his senses and brought Gillard back after a very brief time without the brilliance of Mr Doug Gillard) I gotta say that THIS band is the very BEST lineup of GBV I have ever witnessed. They may be a bit "slick/pro/reliable/sober" but the live shows are PHENOMENAL. I think that THIS live performance is proof of the smokin band kickin out a killer version of an older, classic, fan favourite and, keeping it fresh and exciting
Good, I want to hear a long time fan's opinion on this; I was wondering how this stood up, as their have been so many iterations of GMV over the band's long life.
Game of Pricks lyrics I've waited too long to have you Hide in the back of me I've cheated so long I wonder How you keep track of me You could never be strong You can only be free And I never asked for the truth But you owe that to me I entered the game of pricks With knives in the back of me Can't call you or on you no more When they're attacking me I'll climb up on the house Weep to water the trees And when you come calling me down I'll put on my disease You could never be strong You can only be free And I never asked for the truth But you owe that to me
bit of a rando question, but when was this filmed, and who is that guitarist who hops to the front of the audience at the beginning of the song? Just trying to piece together the GBV lineups a bit over the years and he's not in the current 2023 lineup, correct? Or no?
This was filmed during the Half Smiles of the Decomposed tour. The guitarist is Nate Farley, bassist is Chris Slusarenko. Kevin March (drummer) and Doug Gillard (lead guitar) are still in the current lineup. This was just before Bob Pollard broke up the band.
