Literally the most inebriated I’ve ever seen any iteration of GBV, and that’s saying something. Except Gillard. Doug hates fun, but killing it as usual.
This ditty, released as a single off _Do the Collapse_ and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtrack, was probably the closest that GBV got to mainstream. And I for one love how the band didn’t run from this “pop” tangent. Instead they plowed right through, leaving the front and back doors in shambles. 💪🫶✌️
@@austintrousdale2397 I think that’s why some folks don’t like the Cobra Verde era. They could do anything, whereas the classic lineup was really constrained by skill. Bob could ask Doug to shred a solo, and Doug could and would. That was a legit band of musicians. Not saying I don’t love the classic lineup too. Totally different bands.
I'm from Dayton Ohio and we used to have this nightclub called The Asylum back in the 90s. GBV and The Amps (Kim Deal side project) did a show there that was so drunken and incomprehensible, I'm not sure either band completed a whole song.
