Gil's task for the day (if you want), as best as I can interpret it. See how your body is activated by the thinking you have. *Notice what happens to your body with these thoughts. What is the connection bt thinking and your body? How does it manifest in the body? Tightness, tension, etc. Also Gil suggests (acc to me) the 3 breath journey when troubled by thoughts and then return to the normal breathing in meditation. Hope this helps!
Summary: - Gil introduces the concept that the mind and body are deeply interconnected, likening the mind to a puppeteer controlling the body, highlighting how thoughts can physically influence the body through sensations, tensions, and movements. - Emphasis is placed on the physicality of thinking, encouraging participants to notice and explore the physical sensations associated with their thoughts, such as tension in specific body parts, to understand the source and impact of their thinking. - The meditation guide involves participants in exercises to relax the body and, by extension, influence and understand their thinking, pointing out that thinking can have a physical location and manifest differently depending on the nature of the thoughts (e.g., words vs. images). - Instructions are given for a mindfulness exercise focusing on body relaxation and observation of the physical sensations associated with thinking, encouraging a deeper connection between mind and body awareness. - The session concludes with a broader reflection on kindness and goodwill, suggesting that mindfulness and awareness of the physical aspects of thinking can lead to a more compassionate outlook towards oneself and others. Thank you Gil. 🙏
