The scriptures teach we aren’t to make secret oaths. Matt 5:33...Have a problem with an organization like the Shriners using being connected to Islam by using the Quran ...Christian believers are not to be joined with unbelievers... The Muslims want you to become one of them, not the other way around.
There are no 'secret oaths' in English Freemasonry; everything is published. The American Shriners is not a Masonic organisation; it's something quite separate. English Craft Freemasonry is open to all who recognise a monotheistic faith. Having been a member of several UGLE lodges for over sixty-five years (now, that's quite a while!), I know how mixed the membership is and since discussion of religion or politics is forbidden in lodges, there is total harmony between brethren who, in other walks of life may find themselves permanently at a distance.
