LOVED the writing and acting.... wonderful length of scenes. Nothing gimicky. Nothing but the pure essence of brilliant talent.... not rushed.... timing is just fantastic on both actors' parts.
The original 4 musketeers was great!!!!! But the real supercouple through all those years was Rick & Phillip!!!!!! They were the best friendship and true soul mates to each other imo
The only woman Phillip ever loved because she was good and kind. Also, he knew that she loved him not his money. They went through plenty, but ended up together in the end. We all knew they would.
I started GL in June 1983 when Beth was first introduced. I still remember seeing Lilian for the first time as the emergency nurse when Beth was beaten up with Bradley trailing along claiming she fell down the stairs. I think Judi and Grant had outstanding chemistry as the rich handsome young man falling in love with the quiet, shy girl who came from a much lower economic background. At the time, I always thought Judi Evans was the stronger actress compared to Krista as MIndy; however, looking back 34 years later thanks to youtube, I think Krista did a great job too. I had no idea that Grant was 7 years older than the girls. He was able to play the young teen during that time very convincingly. I was never a Lujack fan. I quit watching the show after Phillip and Beth's relationship was muddled too much by other stories. I know Judi was very vocal that she had no regrets leaving GL as she felt there was a lot of animosity towards her on the set. I know she won a Daytime Emmy as Best Supporting Actress during her first year on GL. Grant Aleksander being so much older also didn't help as he was more experienced, well, in life than his younger counterpart. I found out later that the two of them did not get along all that well but it certainly didn't show in their work. Beth as a character was off the show for like 3 or 4 years? I actually found Beth Chamberlain a wonderful replacement plus everyone had "grown up". Phillip was thrown into the "sanitarium" and Beth kept showing up at his window causing him to go into hysterics. By that time, the dynamic was different as Krista Tesreau was no longer playing Mindy but Rick & Phillip were still played by the same actors from that summer of 1983.
@@swolfe9668 who cares? Not I. Only care about onscreen. Grant and judi were great together. Phillip n beth are the supercouple. Lujack n beth stank in comparison lol imho. Lujack n beth were extreme opposite characters who would be incompatible in real life. They were toxic too. Team phillip and beth always! Real true love and soulmates.
@@swolfe9668 who the he'll cares how they got along? The whole point of good acting is to convincingly play a role that is not necessarily like yourself. You don't need to like your costars, just do your job and act your part, otherwise you are a not professional
I prefer Beth Chamberlain too. I've been watching clips of this Beth because I wanted to know more about their back story and I wanted to give her a chance, but BC still wins out. I can't understand 2/3s of what they're saying.
I prefer judi evans as beth with grant aleksander. They are my fave couple of all time from all soaps. I never liked lujack or lujack/beth Had to stop watching for awhile came back when lujack was killed off. Liked B. C. with G. A. But judi was my fave n best.
I preferred Beth and Lujack together. I did love Phillip but he was a jerk during this time. Judi Evans and Vincent Irizarry has amazing chemistry. Beth and Lujack are my favorite..

And lujack attacked Tony n manipulated mindy to get Beth. Lujack n Beth were mildly toxic n extreme opposites = not a match. Like who u want but Beth n phillip were a perfect match and far more romantic . Plus the acting of Judi n grant was top notch. And phillip n beth had a beautiful love story. Lujack n beth were more of a toxic lust story.. I did like nick n Kimberly Simms mindy. They were a match n a good couple.
Lujack and beth were the worst gl couple ever! Sorry. Couples who get together because of manipulation by one of the 2 people are always terrible toxic couples aka real facts.
