While watching this I realised why I obsessively watch Vallun's videos. He plays the game with impressive skill but it never comes across as a brag, but rather an inspiration for others to try and achieve the same. Vallun's videos make me believe that it's possible for me to be that good, instead of feeling like it's an unattainable standard that's always going to be too advanced for me.
Really appreciate the backstories and RP elements. I think it's easy to forget when you're the player character just how abnormally competent the commander has to be to perform their tasks, and seeing the humble beginnings of those who could not reach those insane heights is just a good reminder of both the great potential each character has, and how quickly that potential can be snuffed out.
So cool! I loved how you did a mix of technical stuff and character lore. Glad that at the end it was an ele succeeding even if that shouldn't surprise me at this point xD
You're becomming an insanely good youtuber days after days. Can't wait for more! Also I didn't notice you enjoyed the lore, I'm listening like a kid listening to his parents reading a story :D
This is some of the best gw2 content out there! Reminds me of Settled 1hp challenge on osrs. This is an incredibly difficult challenge that not mant people could pull off - especially as the environments of gw2 can be so unforgiving (RIP Bree). Makes me want to try some group content solo - awesome job!
@@MsTatakai On one of my previous playthroughs on ranger, people were also suggesting I do a nuzlocke on top of it, where if my pet dies I have to go catch another, but because theres a limited supply of pets I can get I figured it would be too punsihing
My guild actually ran a contest to speedrun a fresh account through the personal story solo and deathless, with the added stipulation of only using white (basic) gear for the whole game. We didn't have to do the earlier story dungeons (which would have been awful with effectively half strength weapons and armor), but we did need to finish the final Zhaitan story dungeon Victory or Death. It was a ton of fun, with dozens of players posting their updates on discord. I ran a minionmancer with tons of lifesteal on hit traits because most of them scale poorly with stats anyway, and it worked pretty well. My final time to finish the challenge was just over 24 hours total. The funny part was just how many people had their runs end due to fall damage.
Damn, i liked Sho, F. But seriously, what an incredible challenge and skills you have! That Honor of the waves final boss is incredibly tough, i killed him with two friends and even so it was difficult (they weren't 80 tho). Keep up the good work, i love experiments.
A few of us run Survivalist characters - it's fairly easy if you're careful. The usual mode of death is falling (especially from vistas in non-gliding zones!), or hitting an unseen overhang jumping into water.
I tried this few times, well soloing dungeon is much harder then i expected, after few characters i was not that far from the end with another, but died...i did not want do delete that character as i kinda liked him after the journey, so now i am back to playing normally, just with another character with cool backstory and now fitting transmog too... :D i should try this more in the future
You're an absolute madlad for this. Great challenge, but there's no way in Hell my reckless ass is gonna try this xD Good on you for makin' it tho! I'd love to be skilled enough to do this challenge as well, but I'm afraid i'd die even as a necromancer :S
Your voice sounds almost identical to Bootts at the beginning of this video??? I actually was listening to it, and not watching the video in the beginning, and had to do a double take, because I thought I had clicked on the wrong video and gotten one of Bootts videos instead. Anyway, this comment is for your channel boost, and a thumbs up like as well. Subscribed and always looking forward to more Vallun videos about GW2. Edit: Laranity also did something like this a while ago, but she did it on stream with some of her friends, which made it even more fun to watch. Just a suggestion that might make your Permadeath journey more fun for the viewers.
Huh, guess ill have to play through the main story again. only this time without breaks of a year or more in between. Very nice Video overall. Quite inspiring.
Good old GW1 old skool survivor title, before the title reset on death. I've got 6 chars with this, and 2 on going. One has S3 and the other is about to hit S3. Found out early on never tell anyone you are aiming for it or else they will do their best to ruin it for you :p
Well done, good luck with heart of thorns lolololol. I hope you decide to utilize the nature of the story system to checkpoint instead of full permadeath. Scrap all of your armor or something 🤣
17:33 Vallun: 'so after a really long time of extremely butt-clenching gameplay...' oh dear, sounds dangerous. didn't know Guild Wars does that to us. hope everything is still peachy 🤭
I actually tried this on my charr warrior (my new main) until level 57 i think..miscalculated a jump and died. Then i was like eh screw this challenge 😂
It's very easy without lags and disconnects (20-40 each day XD) I don't know how many characters died with lvl 75+ while I became the popup: your internet... God damn it My last char died with lvl 60 by a lvl 13 Moa 🤦🏼♀️
to answer the title without watching the video, yes you can, gw2 is a very very simple mmo with very little mechanic challenged situations even in raids.
