IMPORTANT NOTE: Discovered today that the ICEBROOD SAGA Strike Ascended WEAPONS are *NOT* fully stat-selectable and contain only CORE Stats (doesn't include Viper, Harrier, etc) - but you can of course still stat-swap these. The ARMOUR, however, IS fully stat-selectable (idk why this is, very weird). So, for WEAPONS I would instead recommend the END OF DRAGONS Strike Ascended Weapons (Living Water Weapons: 250 Green Prophet Shards + 15g) as these are totally stat-selectable. All RAID Weapons / Armour are completely stat selectable. As such, my suggested path is: EoD Strikes for WEAPONS -> IBS Strkes for ARMOUR -> Raids for BOTH. Apologies for overlooking this error - hope this helps!
@@valentindumitru7294 Playing a Revenant! Any heavy class can equip the gear seen there but you'll need to make a Revenant at some point for those pants :)
Something he doesn't mention for the 2nd set of refined enoy armor is that DO NOT EVER CHANGE ITS STATS IF YOU'VE SELECTED STATS. This will overwrite the refined envoy armor making it not a precursor anymore, meaning you CANNOT use it to craft your legendary armor. I highly recommend not even using that second set at all. Keep it in your bank till you're ready to craft your legendary armor.
that's a big "when" lol, I mean I've been playing on and off for since release and only ever got two legendary weapons, a brand new player is gonna be grinding for weeks for a legend set that doesnt improve your stats compared to ascended lol
For those who chosed to get their ascended trinkets with the living world episode (especially season 2 and 3) just try to complete the return to [episode name] achievements. It gives a huge amount of the associated map's currency. And if you complete them all awards you a legendary amulet.
For back item, easiest one I know is to complete achievement "Raise the Banners: Amnoon Independence". It's super easy and almost half of that achievement is completing story missions in Path of Fire. It doesn't require any farming or grinding, just casual playing and is stat selectable. Item awarded is called "Ensign Banners of Amnoon".
If you are doing icebrood saga strikes you are also getting eternal ice shards which can be exchanged to ascended accessory(upon completion of the related story), amulet(upon completion of a very short kodan collection) or living world season 4 currency which can be used to buy other accessories and rings from respective map vendors.
I would highly recommend exchange Eternal Ice Shards for Living Worlds currency that u will need in future for legendary accessories, because it's heavily time gated the other way
You made a mistake in LW trinkets. Each LW map has an ACCOUNT limit per day on how much map currency you can get. So essentially this account limit is almost used up by your first character, so farming it with alts is not a thing. On the second toon you might get a couple of nodes out of it and then it's over for the day. However, there is one map where you can with as many toons as you like because there is no account limit on that. That's Bitterfrost Frontier. Also the vendor there sells rings, accessories backpieces AND (you forgot to mention this) an ascended underwater helmet. This is also the only place to date where you can get this (outside of crafting). So that's a good place to farm and is a lot quicker than running strikes. Do note that you have to spend 5g once on any of the LW3 vendors so you can also get unbound magic which is the other currency you need. Then there's Bloodstone Fen. The vendor there has rings, backpacks and amulets. What's cool about those, is that you can stat change them. You do need to buy something from that vendor that costs 100 unbound magic per time (which is cheap) that can reset your Bloodstone Fen items stats allowing you to take new stats. It's a one shot item, so you need to get one each time you want to do that, however, you can reset all Bloodstone Fen trinkets in one go. Then there is the point that when it comes to rings and accessories, you can only have one of each on a given character. So you cannot buy two of the same rings and equip it on the same character (ascended gear is account bound though so you can give one to another character if you made that mistake). The only ones you can double up are the wvw and fractal ones. Not sure about the pvp ones (I don't really play pvp), but I imagine it is the same. It tells you in the text though. Lastly, ascended trinkets represent MOST of your stats. So if you get ascended trinkets before doing raids or tier 1-2 fractals you'll be doing fine and you can get your weapons and then your armor (armor gives the least stats). So my advice is to get LW3 (and possibly 4) get your trinkets sorted there and then (or in the meantime) look at other stuff. Anyways, a long post but hopefully a useful one.
Getting partial ascended armor/weapons and full ascended trinkets on my main has given me the ability to not be one shot in HOT ascended is only a 5% stat increase but holy shit does that matter
If your question is serious, stop playing gw2 and go back to Fifa or Diablo Immortal. Or to RL and buy everything you want, to hopefully realise someday, that it doesn‘t feel the same if it isn‘t earned through a process investing time for it.
@@walksfar68 that would be pay to win, there are a lot of problems with that pay model. It would make the game extremely unbalanced and unfair if they let that happen. Plus you can get lucky by getting drops from world bosses and farming the Silver Waste, in addition to fractuals and strike missions. May take some time, but it’s not as hard as it used to be getting these items years ago.
For the love of god, do NOT stat change your envoy ascended armor you get from the raid. They are precursors to their legendary version. Stat swapping them in the mystic forge replaces them with generic ascended equipment.
It’s okay to stat swap the 1st collection Ascended armor set, but not the 2nd Envoy collection set, right? It’s the 2nd set that is the precursors of the Legendary armor.
@@elocfreidon You get two full sets of Ascended armor by completing both parts of the Envoy armor collection. I’m done with the 1st collection part and received the first set of Ascended armor and I’m now working on completing the 2nd part with the Crystal Heart and I’ll get to choose a 2nd full set of Ascended armor which will be the precursors for my Legendary armor when I’m done with the Crystal Heart collection. You can do whatever you want to the 1st full set of Ascended armor, because it’s the 2nd set that’s the precursors for your Legendary armor.
@@traveling.down.the.road56 Do the pieces at least say they are precursor items now? They made those changes to other precursors years after they came out.
As someone returning I find this video very difficult to follow, doesn't feel like the easy way, but maybe im missing something :/ I'm guessing this guide (and the required one before it) is only good for brand new players. I have full exotic, I have also finished EOTD, but I can't seem to do much of what you suggest in this video at the beginning, finding it frustrating.
Personally, I think this is where Anet need to overhaul the gearing system. There is a lot of time spent just to get the gear needed if you want to play a specific build etc and most people just don't have the time to grind out for the legendary armour
If you've done any amount of decent open world farming and or t1 fractals, the PVP and fractal ascended are probably faster, easier, and more consistent to get than most of the other methods. You're going to want a level 500 armor/weapon smith for your account anyway and the grand master marks aren't that hard to get nor that expensive (so long as you're not rushing daily crafts). Also for PvP and WvW those ascended pieces are already a step to legendary armor. This video is still a great resource, but fyi newbies, you'll have to encounter crafting at some point, bitting the bullet early and getting some ascended gear from it isn't a bad idea.
I have six characters and for all of them I got the trinkets from the following LW maps LW S3 Bloodstone Fen LW S3 Bitterfrost Frontiere LW S4 Sandswpt Isle LW S4 Dragonfall You will need a lot of the currency from each map BUT if I as a very temp player can do it, anyone can. Basically farm each map every day for a week. Whenever possible do the Hearts in the zone so you can buy more shards/ berries /motes / whatever. Do any dailies if that is the map of choice that day. At worst it will take about half a week to get what you need!
This could be 3min video... i will give you example. Go here repeat this action collect currency buy from this vendor. Thats it why the hell it is 16mins???WTF
"... working under the assumption that you've finished the EoD expansion." Lol come on man it takes ages to get through all the content up to and including that one. By the time you've finished that you're swimming in ascended gear. Oh well.
3:23 The thing is, stat swapping ascended gear stats without crafting also severely limits your options. The insignia types for basic prefixes, like Berserker & Rampager, can be acquire from the trading post. But that's about it. No viper insigina without crafting. Shame. Still, you can get harrier prefix so might as well play a healer...
@@BloomHD I saw! Loved it! Sadly, it's a... one time thing at best if I understand correctly? Meaning, you can't do this for every piece of ascended that you would get your hands on. Still better than nothing!
@@anneonyme213 It is one time only unfortunately! That said, there’s 12 of them, so I figure by the time you’ve run out you’ll have already looted/bought all the stat-selectables you could want!
@@BloomHD do you have a Discord link? The ones I have found on Reddit are all expired. Added the GM in game if it is still the same as the reddit posts.
Kinda funny how you mention the 'return to' achievements just for blue prophet shards, but don't mention as a side note that doing all of them would get a very easy legendary amulet ^^
Play wvw for the easiest way. You can be total ass at the game mode and get no kills, it doesn't matter. As long as you get participation, you get ascended items
I just got back into the game last week after 8 years away! I wanted to try getting into fractals for the legendary backpiece so I need ascended armor for agony slots. It looks like you put a lot of time into these videos. Thank you so much Edit: Looks like I’m gonna try to grab icebrood and finish that and eod for strike missions (I was doing PoF) Thank you again!
Question, isn't your dps going to suck in raids without ascended armor/weapons/trickets and infusions? I have always believed you need to have the best gear possible for the raids. If not, I will stop spending enormous amounts of gold to get ascended gear...
I don't get it, the first steps cannot be used if I'm not on end of dragons elite spec? I wanted to get accessories for my firebrand and I've completed my elite spec collection, but it's not listed there. I don't want to farm materials or craft. I want to do group content.
Every time I come back to this game and try to play it seems ANET keeps adding more steps to obtain get one piece of ascended gear and I end up just stop playing..grinding for days and weeks is not enjoyable at all and ruins the game play for myself..and the fact that you must buy 75% of the living world seasons which also another reason most players quite..and the Raids-PvP-WvW-Fractals is the most toxic community I have ever seen on a game..
I'm sorry for telling you this. But the easiest way is crafting lol. Imagine you having to do all that to get one piece of gear or weapon. You going after side quests of heart of thorns when you can just really craft it. If people are new they should pick a power class, berserker, get all the easy to find berserker gear. Craft what they need them when he have your character he can farm \craft the rest. Making gold is easier now since stabilizing matrix and glob of ectoplasm are pricy. So get that gold. Max a profession in 10 minutes. Then craft what you need. Easy.
There’s something funny about suggesting doing raids, what I considered to be the hardest content of anything in Guild Wars 2, in order to get the gear so you’re more survivable and can hit harder, which would really help you out in those raids 😅
I just started my journey to envoy. I’ve been playing since launch and I still haven’t done a single raid. They are so intimidating lol. Is the lfg really the best place to start? Or should I spend the time combing through really active guilds that teach new players? I’m running heal mech if that matters
Discords / guilds are the ‘best’ but honestly I’ve basically always done them through LFG! Heal Mech is simple so you’ll have an easy time focussing on mechanics - just keep an eye out in the LFG under the Training tab! 😁
It's the Revenant with the Elite Specializations Herald and Vindicator depending on the clip. Herald is very easy to pick out because it has the glowing circle under it's feet so people can tell which utility skills (facets in this case) you have toggled on for passive boons. Vindicator is the one where he's like a "Dragoon" and constantly jumps up and slams down.
Awesome. Ima pick the class up then. I’ve been playing guardian but I’m kinda clueless on things but I’ve been watching your video’s to get up to speed on it. Keep up the good content!!
@@strohkin1936 Oh I'm not the guy who made the video, I just saw your comment and knew the answer. To your other point though, Guardian would technically be better if you're looking for quick ways into groups as Firebrand's are always wanted. Mukluk also has a guide for an easy Firebrand build if you're already there looking at the raid or strike summary vids.
Amazing information. As 1 month old player, the thought of fractal / strikes / raid is so menacing. Heard people who run pve instances isn’t as nice, so i never touch those area😅
i rly wana get back in this game but its too scarey lol. i nvr finished my 1st playthrough. i got so lost but i wana. i dont like bein the lost lil lamb......mmmmbut i am. considering starting over fresh.
But right below in the corner of tNice tutorials blue screen, there's "Program" wNice tutorialch most likely states "Aggressive TE" if you click on that you have a
Casual player this is not for , you know better than saying easiest way to get this gear. Just craft your gear an so metas an group world stuff save an become armor maker.
Any idea on how to acquire the Steelstar's light Ascended armor set wiki is not helpful i managed to get the insignia but finding the armor set recipe's is difficult to say the least.
Rough estimate, if you were to work on all the parts simultaneously, probs like 4+ weeks or so to fully complete? Remember it’s a long term goal, you should already be fully geared in Exotics so the stat boost to Ascended is quite small and incremental. Just a nice goal to work toward :)
@@BloomHD Great perspective. GW2 is more of a marathon and a journy than anything. I am starting out, mainly pvp but want good gear for story content and strikes. Thank you
You forgot one key element... Some raids require specific masteries :)) . And if you really want to no craft gear use raids/fractals or pvp/wvw and collect tokens
Man I wish they would make a GW3 instead of just milking this game. I was a HUGE GW fan from back in 2005 when GW first released. Played it and all the expansions for thousands of hours. GW2 was a total disappointment for me at first. The skill system sucked and was barely customizable at all compared to the extremely customizable gw 1 system. The gw1 system is far superiors in every way and made you feel different from others as opposed to gw2 where everyone is jsut the same pretty much. I can guarantee you if they released a gw3 they would go back to gw1 skill system etc. that was the #1 complaint for gw2 and there was ALOT of it when it was released as people were upset by this. Anyways good vid lol
not much of a mention about Fractals, does that mean that you dont play them much, or its way easier to get them the other way? (sry dont want to sound ignorant)
Fractals are a great source of gold, but I find the ways I’ve listed out here to be the most reliable/time-sensitive method of getting Ascended gear. For Fractals you’ll be at the mercy of RNG and you’ll need Grandmaster Marks which for the most part can ONLY be earned through Crafting (and they’re a bit expensive to craft too mind you!)
4:41 Yes. This so much. Whenever I teach people how to do Bounties in PoF. I always tell them. Don't start with the one you want. Do a couple beforehand to get a nice group, THEN pick the one for your Collection.
Thanks for both of these super useful videos. My only question would be roughly how many hours a full set will take. I bought on release so have probably 6 to 8 sets to make (9 characters who can share sets but some will have Zerkers, some condi, and some healers). I have alot of mats saved having bought GW2 on release just never played alot. Trying to weigh up the most time efficient way (farm gold and craft vs farm these). I probably only play less than 8 hours a week. Probably I'll just work my way through the last two expansions in exotic gear when I think about it. :)
Do I have to finish all the expansions including the LW seasons chronologically before doing all these? Sorry, I've only been playing the game for like 3 weeks atm. And I'm only currently grinding mastery pts for now. I skipped my personal storyline, LW and HoT and jumped right into PoF for the mounts. What do you suggest? Very Nice content btw. Been watching some of your videos for the past 2 days. I just subscribed. :)
You don't have to play any of the story content in order. Or, you don't have to play it at all. If you have the 'Teleport to Friend' item, you don't even have to do the beginning story step to get into the expansion/living world maps. GW2 just lets you play as you want, for the most part
