I can but its no longer as effective. Anet changed the mesmer trait lines recently and so it doesn't work as well.

One of the tricks is to learn the classes inside and out. And not just mesmer. If you learn the other classes you can learn what abilities are worth dodging or avoiding and which ones you can ignore and save your limited defense abilities for

I use runes of the scrapper for body runes. And for my weapon swaps I run sigil of cleansing and energy on both weapon sets.

@@xelguard defender relic celestial armor valk+marauder trinkets and Zealot Weapons are the full setup

Its a hybrid mix of stats i dont run full celestial. And over half my gear is legendary aside from the trinkets. The only reason they struggled to fight me there was a lack of 1 thing. A backstab thief would have made that fight impossible. Mesmer armor is pretty weak. But yes trait lines are chaos virt and I forget the name of the other one but it removes condis on shatter activation.
