LW2 and Heart of Thorns was such an amazing era for Guild Wars 2 music. Shadow of the Dragon, the Heart of Thorns theme, and Mordremoth are hands down some of the best tracks in the game. There are some choice picks later on down the line (Dragonflight, a good portion of the IBS soundtrack, The Cycle Ends, and Mother to name a few) but nothing rivals the pure magic and majesty of the 2014-2015 era of GW2 music.
The time I fell in love with Guild Wars 2 Music was Season 2. I still love every single track from this period, and even though I love all of the music, Season 2's truly spoke to me and will always have a special place in my playlists. But to be honest every single Dragons' track gave me chills - every single musical interpretation is truly perfect.
Amazing mashup, I love how the songs transition into each other its just so good. I've been listening to this when i need to panic write last minute essays and it's oddly effective. Banger video my guy
This is absolutely AMAZING. Thanks for compiling all these tracks, and in such a nicely working order as well! You've been a blessing to find all these years ago, and that hasn't changed!
I think there could be much tracks included in this particular compilation, most of those are the ones I thought are the clearest tracks of Elder Dragons, given that Fear not this Night isn't exactly about Zhaitan and neither does it feature his musical motif, I chose not to include it, and instead I put A World Without You. I guess I could rather include Fear not this Night as second to last track here, but I felt at the moment of creating the compilation, that it just didn't really fit. Thinking about it now, I think was wrong not to include it.
Oof, that's a lot of great, epic themes in one place! Though honestly I'm missing Drakkar theme and another Claw of Jormag theme that you hear when breaking into Frost citadel for example. Those stand out a bit more than Champions music, at least to me :P But the real shoutout I wanna make here is The Crystal Dragon. The way its chaotic drums and minor chords and dreadful choirs contrast with a powerful, harmonious major chord when you use Aurene's crystals in the story mission is brilliant and empowering addition to that experience. Wish there were more such things in the game!

i love this soooooo much holy crap the elder dragon themes are epic! and its inspiring me to get off my bum and do some cleaning, just bopping to this (i know this isnt typical music to bop to but i just do ok, leave me alone 😂😂😂) got so much done in just a couple of hrs!
This is a great compilation, but.....how could Attack on Tarir not be included? It's one of the more iconic tracks from Heart of Thorns, up there with Mordremoth's theme and the Heart of Thorns overture. Sure, it's not about Mordremoth, per se, but the Octovine is one of Mordremoth's minions, so I think it counts.
I think there could be much more music included in this mashup, but I had to make some choices, which were really subjective. I picked my personal favourites from each Soundtrack throughout the years (purely that I thought best capture the Dragons), and I hope someone gets inspired by this to make their own mashup. :)
I feel there's a travesty committed. Proclaiming to be the ultimate Elder Dragon mashup but not including Fear Not This Night, which plays during The Source of Orr (vocal) and when Trahearne dies (instrumental) finishing Mordremoth for good... It might not be about the Elder Dragons directly, but it's about Tyria's fight and victory over Elder Dragons. And I see *clear* Jormag favoritism. The whispers got to you.
There will be more "Ultimate Mashups", I always planned to include Fear not This Night in the next one about the Mortals. And the only reason that there is so much Jormag music is to honor Stan Lepard's work, as he passed away and left behind amazing music for the Icebrood Saga, which I consider his best compositions for Guild Wars 2 ever.
Is there a special reason why you went with the original soundtrack version of "Here be Dragons" instead of the in game version? It always annoyed me that the ost cut like 30 sec of the actual theme.
Hi Michram, Great Playlist! Just wanted to let you know you slipped a line while copying the names. The track at 31:07 Is called "Veins of the Dragon", "Minions of Kralkatorrik" is the Battle theme you get while fighting Branded in PoF.
What a waste of a storyline this whole dragonthing was. Not even one dragon killed in propper one to one combat except soo won. They butchered Zhaitan, Jormag and Kralkatorrik, the by far most done bad to was Primordus, they could have killed him offscreen so insignificant was his role in all this.
I mean, their giant fuck off Elder Dragons, so idk why you expect a goddamn commander who has a army to run to go and get the glory for taking down a giant beast as a normal fighter. I dont understand your logic here. Story couldve been better (at least it aint shit like WoW), but their whole thing was to kill the dragons in any way, not be a superhero (cause they aint) and kill them 1 on 1. If you want that, go play Skyrim or Monster Hunter, they would give you that 'honorable' fight you so want.
I think the point of this game is group effort. The Pact took down the dragons, not just us. You can see that clearly through the metas. We're only slightly stronger than npcs. But true that make things a bit anticlimatic.
