I didn't test them out as much as some did, but I only found a few enjoyable. None would make me want to give up what I'm currently using, though. Thanks again, Lord Hizen!!
When I tested, I felt the spear in Deadeye would be wild... Hizen just elevate that in epic proportions. Engi Spear felt to be good too. And the rest, well that's it. Thanks for REAL test those thing for us mate, you still my mentor as always. I can see ranger ( my favorite spec ) doing some good in PvP, I think is hard to surpass dual maces in solo Open World.
I've basically benched my rev now because I am just tired of the nerfing, tired of the useless new weapons, and just so damn tired of them saying "we are happy with it" while the majority of the player base is screaming at them saying it's fucking trash with math, numbers, and video showing how garbage it is.
Is the main reason i hated the spear being power and not condi. Could have even given us an hybrid weapon like thief or engi, but that's too much to ask.
Yooo I feel that rev portion... I still don't understand why they felt the needed to make scepter a sword... ANOTHER sword. Why didn't they make it a ranged support weapon? Yknow the thing that DOESN'T overlap with a preexisting melee support weapon?... Both rev scepter and spear look kool, but it doesn't matter if they don't see use... Also I don't get why it's 600 range. Revs already lack in the range department.

Man, I love how deadeye can take the new weapons, and force Anet to nerf that shit or else. Except maybe scepter. Unless there is a secret scepter deadeye build I am unaware of that's melting foos.
Yeah most of these feel like they were built to only feel good when quickness is applied and even then. However, engineer spear can bring back scrapper as quick condi which is kinda fun
Yup dreams of a power vind/dragoon died upon seeing wtf anet did to revenant with a slow useless condi wep which is inferior to mace/axe in every way. Now focusing mesmer for expansion least their power wep was good and fun. First scepter now this. "Anet reading player feedback" ignored as usual watch.

Good to know that i just bought a nice spear skin for my ranger and its just that, a nice skin because i wont use the spear until they fix it to be usable
They either need to tone down m7 on deadeye or tone up the other specs. How many years has this continued to be an issue for the balance team til they learn?

@@Svobone Some have completely no purpose (another power weapon for necromancer lmao), others suck mechanically, quite a few have low numbers. Note that for some of them it's bunch of these reasons at once.
For the beta i only cared about Rev's Spear......i was so focused on the animations and the CD reset on Spear5 that i didn't see how much dmg i was actually doing, so seeing that from you clears my mind...such a pity...
Kinda weirded out that warriors ranged weapon gives you more incentive to use it as a melee weapon. We already use a pistol as a melee weapon, what more do they want from us?
I really wanted the swap mechanic on rev spear to work, it would have fit nicely into all the legendswap/wepswap bomb builds i like to roam around on in WvW and open world pve content. But it's as you said, slow and clunky and no damage even when you get it off.
idc if Necro spear is good. I'm sad that its not a 1200 range weapon that we need, nor does it do anything Necro-y like condis or minions. just another life steal like the swords just were. honestly after playing Necro since launch, between this and swords, I'm dropping Necro and going to Ele. They've just done nothing with Necro that makes it FEEL like a Necro and what i care most about is immersion.
For warrior I think if there were 2 charges on 3rd skill it would make it more usable with berserker, since you have to go melle all the time. Would look cooler too.
For Thief , again, condi Deadeye does good benchmark, witch will bve nerfed, and Spear will be useless on Daredevil and Specter, not to mention any attempt at a power build...
I love Maleficent 7, but it just makes it impossible for Thief to ever feel right. You can't nerf kits to work around infinite initiative when it's only available in 1 archetype. the talent itself needs some kind of limitation, and then buff the rest of thief kit (including other deadeye stuff) accordingly.
@@chidorah100 You wouldn't need to balance Thief according to Deadeye, if you just buff Daredevil and Specter in Pve so that the power lvl match. And imo the Spear could have been a pure power weapon, not some hybrid like axe and scepter (that ended up just being condi). Thief hasn't had a good power weapon that has some Aoe since HoT with staff. The spear has a nice design and they sad in the live chat that they will try to balance it for power 2, and i hope it happens, but am not 2 optimistic. Personally, would love to play a pure power version with spear on Specter or Daredevil. But atm imo Daredevil needs a buff, and Specter needs a rework and some love from Anet.
@Lord Hizen For the mirage spear the stacking 20 seconds 15% damage is nice at least to amp up laser fest greatsword. Hoping it does get buffed a little though was nice to have a melee wep for once on the class. Greatsword + shark spear = sharks with laser beams :P Rip Rev though anet hates the class add insult to injury after the failed scepter now spear. Going 100% mesmer into next expansion rifle chrono is amazing then spear looks viable vs others.
Spear is a total flop for me. Engineer is the only one I'm actually looking forward to playing. Warrior and ranger are my favorite classes and I have zero interest in either of their spears regardless of if they buff the numbers.
I hope that spear for guard will perform better than swords, mainly because I crave something else than sword&greatsword combo, and scepter ain't working either for me ;-;
When it comes to PvP with the spears: Warrior: rifle zerker except harder to land the hits, need better tracking and then it become juicy damage Guardian: the only reason why its good on willbender is because there is a bug with the dash skill that make you multi-hit, this bug happened many times in the past Revenant: more offensive version of condi herald duelist, spicy 60 stack torment Thief: hard to judge how good it is, the skill 3 leap has 0 cooldown and scale with movement speed thanks to bug, so you can leap across whole map instantly Ranger: utter unuseable garbage, only good on untamed thanks to having good stealth synergy Engineer: 2x pulsing damage AoE on class that already have pulsing damage AoE on all specs, so anyone who aproach close to you instadie like mosquito in eletric bug trap Mesmer: MELLE ASSASIN MIRAGE yea boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Elementalist: fancy animations, thats everything, skills itself have 0 impact Necro: power reaper go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, its like greatsword but better
Ah, wait, these are kinda same spears as underwater ones? I guess going for some of legendary spears will be worthwhile, since it won't be just underwater.
