I'm currently liking the Reaper Power DPS build which uses the Greatsword with the Axe & Warhorn ☺️ this link gives a good overview for it: metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Reaper_-_Power_Greatsword If you haven't yet unlocked the Reaper elite spec, you can swap it out for Death Magic and incorporate the dagger and focus in to your build ☺️
It's difficult to say as they're all unique and it depends what you enjoy playing! I would recommend watching my class guide where I look at all of the classes in one video and see if any jump out at you. If you need a closer look on one after that, check out the detailed class guide for it to see if you still like the look of it ☺️ for what it's worth, I'm really in to my Necro at the moment, it's a really fun class that can also be powerful and tanky quite easily 😃
Just made the switch from WoW (long overdue) and found your guides to be absolutely amazing! This game is fantastic but can be quite daunting for new players. I think I'm here for the long haul as I'm loving everything about it so far.
My dad used to play WoW when he was younger and I wanted to give it a try. I didn't really wanna pay for it so I searched up some alternatives and found GW2 . I really appreciate this guide and I think its going to help a lot. Thank you :)
I have been playing GW2 for years. But always only for a short time, because I never really get into it. I want to have fun with my class. On RU-vid you can only find builds that I don't want to play and they are always for the endgame. I see the same thing over and over again. Video titles like "Best build for ..." are not helpful. And many skills of classes are not used anywhere. Thanks for showing me that my playstyle in GW2 is not wrong either (for example Ranged Weapons on the second bar on Mesmer, or Wells on Necromancer). You also show that there are also alternative options for the classes. Thanks a lot! 🙏😊
This video is a little old but I must say I sincerely appreciate the step by step overview. As a long time WoW refugee your content has been essential. Thank you 👍🏻
I’m new to this game and I started with warrior then quickly realized I didn’t like it so far I am enjoying the necro and it seems to have a good variety of things a necro can do well (tips are welcome)
Great overview on the class. One note for new players is that the Elite skills are buy to play, as each is tied up to an expansion that needs to be purchased
Thank you but the elite skills in this video are all included in the base game. It's only the elite skills for the elite specs (which aren't shown in this video) that are part of the expansions ☺️
I just started playing GW2 and your videos are incredible. I was so bummed to see that you haven’t posted in a while. Hope you start creating content again some day.
Awesome video your right necromancer looks like a fun class to play. Should start here with your beginner series. This video does give a great overall feel , very helpful!
I got a necro to level 80 and quit playing not long after. After being away for three years and returning a week ago, this is just what I needed! Thank you for putting this together. I just subbed and look forward to checking out your other class guides and future content. Much appreciated HF!!
Thanks man, I appreciate it 😃 once you get in to it, you should check out my class guide for The Reaper! It's an elite specialization for The Necromancer which makes it even more awesome 😃
Spectral walk is also a neat utility out of combat, it is basically a position rewinder, plus it doesn't have a max distance, you are only limited by how far you can move in those 10 seconds.
So I just found this video, im trying out GW2 for like the third time, have some 80s, never stuck cause i couldn't find the right class, i main warrior and lock in WoW, but warrior in gw2 doeswn't jam with me,this guide made me wanna do a necro and made me install the game very good guide, loved the class picking guide too! you are doing amazing work keep it up!
I am hoping this helps me because I am finding 80+ very hard with the core power build while getting my reaper unlocked and the mounts/mastery points and even the 250 heroic points I need.
I am a wow player. Dabbled in GW2 a bit when i was bored. found it interesting but a bit confusing coming from this linear wow experience. now with the new expansion i am so bummed out, that they didn't implement a necromancer class. my all time favorite class. the demonology warlock or death knight come close but meh. not the same. your skin or armor or transmog (in wow) looks aboluetly amazing. maybe. i will give this a shot again.
Give GW2 another shot and I'm sure you'll really enjoy it 😊 the elite specializations make it a lot more interesting as well so if you're not 100% sold on the necromancer, you can always change to a Reaper at level 80 and they are even cooler 😊
I've played Wow for many years. Tried GW2 at least three times, and then I got got hooked. Reaper specialization i so much fun. Mount system - The best there is, also tons of things to do. No subscription but then again some items in in game shop do help like additional storage or more place for bags for your character. Overall, love this MMO and i highly recommend it.
another great video , i always liked your vids even before i finish watching it. btw i got 80 core Necro now trying to go to HoT zones , what kind of build you recommend (core) as i still havent got Reaper skills ? i normally use the pet build but HoT mob seem a bit different than core mob , it is far more difficult and not a faceroll core mob lol.. i use axe+dagger and staff
Thanks man! I would recommend following the build in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Op0aVm0Ogz4.html before unlocking the Reaper elite spec 😃
Okay, so I'm wearing an outfit called "Grenth's Regalia" that you can buy from the gem store and the dyes are Abyssal Sea (Black) and Canopy (Green) :-)
Ok so I think calling these videos class guides, might be a bit misleading. All it appears you are doing is reading the tool tips and showcasing the animations of the skills. You didn’t really speak to how to use skills effectively and/or properly which I would assume would be in a class guide. I mean for example you used epidemic without there being any conditions on the golem, which kind of defeats the purpose of using that skill. Unless your intent was just to show case the animation of the skill. But thanks for the video and the time I guess.
There are lots of guides filled with people's opinions I like this as it is an unbiased explanation and demonstration, which is lacking in some other guidex
@@Thomasnmi That's great, just don't title your video "Detailed Class Guide" if all your doing is reading the tooltips of the abilities and casting them on a dummy. Not saying its a bad video, just very misleading.
It's a pretty lame take on a necromancer, to be honest. . . Where are the skeleton warriors and archers? Undead knights? Spirits? I hate these fleshy little monsters. Heck, even run off the mill zombies would have been better. Not a big fan of the rest of the kit either. Doesn't really feel like a proper necromancer. Feels more like a mix of other things. Pretty bummed cause I really wanted to play necro.
So I am new to GW2 & leveling a necro & currently using an axe & focus as they were the 1st weapons given,is it better to use a staff or is it just personal choice?
Good choice as Necro is awesome 😃 it's best to go with whatever weapon you like using most but I like Axe and Focus with Dagger and Warhorn as your second weapon set ☺️ I'm not a massive fan of the staff!
Not to my knowledge but you can make it so it casts instantly where your mouse is so if you position it correctly, this can make it quicker 😊 I prefer the option where you hold it down and release it to activate personally!
so many words lol i dont know why but theire specilaztion all thous traits its just not clicking with me :S i mean likei got so far level 45 secound time necro xD... and i kinda understand alittle better but i dont really understands what so good and for what situation beacous i feel like im mage im also healer supporter and i can be tank and all deal dmg and do some more shenanigance how t treansparent i do not get still working on it:S thnks for the guiide
Give necro a try, they can do a lot of different things like tanking and even healing and they can be built to be nearly unkillable. Enable Death Shroud when you would be downed in your build tab, gives you a nice safety net. Have fun!
I just buy the cheapest set of armor on the trading post that meets all of my requirements 😃 use the filter on the trading post to choose your stats, level and rarity and then just sort cheapest first!
I'll be honest, a lot of the best ones you need to pay for! However, there are a lot of skins you can unlock in PvP and by playing through the expansions and newer living world content 😊 I would recommend you have a look online to find skins you like and then work towards unlocking them 😃
You most certainly can experience end game PvE with necro ☺️ excellent survivability and damage makes it one of the best solo classes for PvE and if you choose the Reaper elite spec, it makes it more powerful and more fun 😊 all classes are viable for end game PvE to be fair but the necro is actually one of the better ones ☺️
@@HeroicFlamingo ah thanks for replying! I just bought and download 2 weeks ago so there's lot of things and mechanics i didn't understand. I really want to play necro but seeing all those hate kinda make me wonder should i play necro or not haha.
@@HeroicFlamingo as im just getting back into the game after a decent break due to some buddies and jumped back onto my 80 necro condi damage build. Doesnt feel as strong as it use to and kinda weird now imo. Might change from condition damage to something else yet no idea lmao
No, you're correct! The Greatsword is unlocked for the Necromancer with the Reaper elite spec 😃 this video is just for the base Necro and I have a separate video for the Reaper which shows off the Greatsword ☺️
