Got out the Zinn recordings! Awesome! Next up I think you guys will be getting a cool video with Boots while I take the time to watch the more recent devs streams. We'll talk about those, then we have the competitive feature pack dropping, the druids are still waiting, agh so much to get to!

Zinn was for me always the GW2 Cave Johnson, when you saw all the stuff in Ratanovus and now those voice lines. Love him!

Also don't we find most of Zinn's menagerie with all those animals in the cages in one of his vaults.

Neat little thing, lots of people probably already know: Zinn and his golem GOX are a giant reference to Zim and Gir of Invader Zim fame!

The mysterious stranger being Joko makes so much sense! All he would want is to put the allies of the Elonans in disarray so he could make his move on conquering Elona. Which we would discover and stop in the canned Beyond arc, and then Joko next sees his chance during the Dragonrise which basically severed Cantha and made Tyria have to fight for themselves.

The mushroom disappointment at 1:53. I hate those cheeky shrooms :3

The menagerie might be the vault filled with all kinds of weird creatures like Polar bears, Tigers, etc.

I am drooling over that Book UI so much. I wish GW2 had this. I know books are in the game, okay, but: 1. short sentences vs pages/chat box UI - I'd love to have an actual book with turning pages. 2. They take up inventory space. They did that in gw1 as well. But would be nice to either have a library collectible tab or just in-game codex. THat page turn where u can hold the corner and drag it back and forth ever so slowly though... ohhhh yeeeehhhh

On mention of the terraformer beam I thought of two things. 1: The only other device in the patch with an outstanding beam--Taimi's device. Now, surely Zinn didn't develop something comparable to Omadd's machine that formed the basis of Taimi's, but presumably he could have created something that may similarly channel Mordremoth's magic into the Draconis cave, much like Taimi's channeled Primordus' & Jormag's back and forth. 2: The Genesis Device from Wrath of Khan. Sounds like stepping into the beam might reorganize your matter in favor of its new matrix. Star Trek/Guild Wars crossover anyone??

Not sure I'd it's worth noting but when he mentions dealing with druids. Oolas lab in gw1 is opening through a druid seed and a vine bridge

omg mental. this is awesome

My biggest gripe with this is the way in which the information is given to us in game. I had no idea what to expect from these recordings and was just exploring the map whilst doing the main story. I picked up the odd recording here and there so the story they tell is completely out of order and almost nonsensical. I ended up hearing the final and most revealing recording after only hearing 3 other parts. It completely spoils the entire story. They need to present this kind of information in a much better way. It gave me no desire at all to collect the rest of the recordings other than for the achievement, so I just haven't bothered finishing that collection yet. The whole mystery of what is happening in the story and how it will unfold is completely gone once you hear that final recording. It is akin to reading a book which begins at chapter 7, then jumps to 3, then 8, and then reading the ending and finding out the main protagonist dies. It's really off putting and a terrible way to present information. They should either make it so that all the recordings are ineligible and only reveal themselves once you have collected all the devices, or have it set to automatically start the story from recording 1, no matter what order you actually pick them up in. This would have insentivised me more to actually want to search and find the next recording so I could hear the next part of the story to see how it unfolded.

Zinn's recordings reminded me of Andrew Ryan from Bioshock

The first part of the fourth living world chapter dropped two days ago and this is THE perfect day to find this video. Seeing the Asuran's connection to Joko is going to be very interesting. Think there's any chance of an Awakened Zinn?

Random thought on that comment about the beam and living creatures. Given what we now know about souls, magic, and corruption, what about Affliction? If being so close to a super malevolent spirit causes that physical corruption, perhaps direct contact with the terraforming beam causes similar physical mutation, maybe even skewed to the biome attempting to be terraformed?

Guild wars beyond takes place in EOTN, Prophecies and Factions, nightfall never got a beyond update sadly.

Hey WP since Zin seems to be dead. Is it possible the two survivors of Rata Novous are the founders of the inquest? We see so many looking at Rata Arcana, but there has never been a mention of them looking into Rata Novous. Could it be because they already know about it and it's fait?

I hope we at least get to see more of his influence on the world, even after death.

The recordings remind me of The Martian by Andy Weir.

What do you think the chances of seeing Olias pop up are? Its a bit out of left field, but he was one of my favorite heros for his err... unique attitude, it was never boring at least. I mean, white mantle necro, apparently brought back to life by Grenth himself and sworn to correct a growing disturbance (Joko/Abaddon?) in Elona. Grenth might have a role to play soon, or one of his most dedicated acolytes.

Dumb question, but is making the "white wings" every time your character lands?

I bet there is some Zinn+Joko connection in the next expansion.

here my theory of zinn. I feel that taimi is zinns daughter. she knew about both secret asura cities, rata novus and arcanum. scruffys 2.0 heat resistant tech was something zinn was working on, which makes sense why taimi was able to withstand primordus heat. even the way she speaks reminds me of zinn, with all the "DELICTABLE" knowledge she was drooling for in rata novus. this would explain. why she knows so much, too much. who knows, instead of being his daughter she may be his clone.

The siphoning the druid could be a reference to him siphoning off that seers power in war in kryta. Could the seer have died from this

Y'know, speaking of all this GW Beyond stuff, I wanna know your opinion. Do you think we'll ever see any traces of Livia in GW2? Or do you think Orr was a completely missed opportunity and her hook into the story (with the scepter) has effectively crumbled away now?

The only GW2 Characters I wanna see come back, would be Razah in some form given his nature, as well as something to do with Kilroy Stonekin, YES he has a gravestone, but he was a nice little reference character I'd love to see return. Earth shakes, splits. Lava plumes smoke bellowed. Primordus stick his head out to the surfaces! ROARS! Chokes?!?! Sneezes! *Fades in getting lieder* ROOOOOOYYYY * BANG! He reveals himself, steals the nearest weapon and charges straight towards hoarded of destroyers screaming the remainder of his name. We the player are confused but in the moment charge straight back with him. Invigorated by his mighty shout! XD

You're just going to drop the Inquest connection? Just because Zinn himself didn't explicitly found them? The Inquest in Rata Arcanum certainly seem to be under the impression that they are his successors. I'd suspect they were either his personal krewe in Rata Novus, or else it was that assistant he became separated from that wound up founding the Inquest.

Ib4 next ep is us in elona for no reason and when ppl ask about pacing and why are we there they direct us to this voice messege from Zinn.

Judging by inquest dialogues and nearly destroyed golem, terraformer device was stolen by Inquest and they are very exited about it potential. Inquest story ark? Oh my, sign me up.

On the second note of the area having a lot of magic and not sure where it coming from, isn't the top of this volcano the Door of Komalie and a way towards the Domain of Anguish, hence it having some magical ties?

Zinn is not dead. Zinn fused with one of his golems and he is going to be our "Exalted" in Crystal Desert.

.One could easily speculate he did it use chaos in Tyria and Elona, preparing the ground for a potential future invasion, but Cantha is too far for that purpose. UNless he di plan to laos cause havoc in cantha so they would not sent help tp Tyria and Elona against him. Allso if Zinn was stil live he'd be over 250 years old, is this possible for the asura? (the whole event with Oola and stuff meh.... i mean the lab and the golems have nothing in common with the gw1 designs, which these should look more, unless at Oola's time they were using headless golems which i dout) PS: If I was not forced to kill Bokka the Magnificenti 'd let him die e waas a true ----.

I think we'll find a form of Zinn like he uploaded his core consciousness to a golem or computer. Not Zinn himself but a copy of his thoughts/mind/personality. He does seem like he would have the ego to make a system that acted and sounded like himself.

I thought this was a SUPER weak end for this character. I thought it was very bad.
