VOLUME UP! You may remember Lady’s famous “Party of One,” which we were only able to film from afar, because we didn’t want to interrupt. Now it’s Guillermina’s turn to have her own celebration - even though she technically wasn’t completely by herself.
As we’ve mentioned, the weather has been a little chilly, which can sometimes make the elephants a bit silly. Guille had been with Maia and Bambi in the morning, and they were in hearing distance when Guillermina decided to have a ball. Caregiver Shirlei was standing quite a distance away and said you could see where Guille must have been since there were sticks and branches being tossed in the air and dust and dirt flying around. This probably went on for about 10 minutes at full throttle.
This video doesn’t actually show Guille’s party, but you can hear the to-do that was happening while we were recording. The recording is from the house at the top of the hill, just for reference as to how loud she really was. If anyone got close enough to see her, she would likely stop, thinking there might be food on the way or just wondering why we showed up. From the sound of things, Guillermina was having a great time. Once she was finished, she joined the others, her energy perhaps expended for a while.
