Thats a tough lesson to learn, tail heavy planes are damn near impossible to control. learned it the hard way myself.

Yes, I realize this is almost 6 years old, but it's the first time I saw it, so I will comment. Beautiful job. I disagree with some of the comments that the balsa made it too heavy. I have flown RC for over 40 years and until the ARF craze ALL: models were heavy. You did a good job building. But like some said, you do need to check the CG before the maiden. I know from experience. :). I am planning on building a Guillow’s and convert it to electric. The balsa sheeting is a good idea. And yes, you do sound like Johnny Cash.

a nose heavy airplane may fly poorly but a tail heavy airplane will only fly once.

Balsa covering added weight and obviously you changed the CG . Balance it next time on the main spar and perhaps up your horsepower .

no flight vid? aw, man. well you shoula flown with lighter AUW, that one looked heavy with that battery.
