Really wonderfully recorded, played and registrated! Hope you will bring out all the Guilmant sonatas on (SA)CD sometime! Your recordings bring out some style connection with Mendelssohn. It has lots of subtle nuance!
I would respectfully disagree. In such a live room there should be more detachment. But his playing was superb. The 32' reed on the last chord was the way God intended!
Bravo! Eine wirklich hervorragende Interpretation. Ich vermute eine Zimbel, die etwas herraussticht, an einigen wenigen Stellen hört es sich dadurch nicht mehr so schön brillant an wie der Rest. Alles in allem: sehr schöne Interpretation.
+Steven Dreyer Nein, eine Zimbel ist das nicht, die würde ich auch nie für Guilmant nehmen. Es sind einige Töne der tiefen Hauptwerksmixtur, die etwas herausstechen. Die hohen Frequenzen verlieren im Raum mit zunehmendem Abstand deutlich an Intensität. Ein größerer Mikrofonabstand hätte aber ein unklareres, verhallteres Klangbild zur Folge.
